🏸Uptown sport club 🏸 @uptownsportsclub We found the coolest spot for dinner right near our hotel. Loved the style of this 1940s building that serves a Texan take on Louisiana homestyle brasserie! Even though it’s such a cool spot, they have a children’s menu! Teddy and I had burgers and they were so delicious but the best part was the Orange & Cream freeze! I ordered it for the girls but they didn’t like the unusual taste - I definitely didn’t mind drinking it for them instead 🍊🍦 Our server was also really warm and friendly 🤗 . . . .

On a été voir les aventuriers de l’arche de Noé au cinéma hier , l’occasion de passé un moment seule avec ma deuxième . Ce n’est pas toujours facile de trouver un moment seule avec chacun des enfants , mais c’est important, pour eux et pour nous en tant que parent . Pour ceux qui veulent savoir , le film dure 1h35 et raconte l’histoire de l’arche de Noé du côté des animaux . Il a beaucoup de mauvaises critiques sur internet a ce que j’ai vu , mais personnellement j’ai trouvé la vision du film intéressante. Je n’irai pas jusqu’à dire que j’1ai adore le film, mais j’ai bien aimé . Un film qui rappelle que si l’histoire de Noe a eu lieu, cela n’a pas dû être facile de faire cohabiter des carnivores et des herbivores … L’occasion pour demoiselle Rose de faire une première approche de l’histoire de Noé… En tant que croyantes, cela a ouvert une conversation sur nos croyances et notamment l’injustice (ou non) de l’histoire de l’arche de Noé , avec la demoiselle . Spartan simulation this morning (being married to a PT who also has his own OCR coach has its perks) - really enjoyable. Nothing much to report aside from losing a chunk of hair getting the sandbag on my back and hating whoever invented the devil press (presumably Satan himself). Afterwards I had a bit of a play around with some of my weaknesses. I have a major fear of dropping/jumping down from heights, largely because I don't trust my hypermobile ankles not to just crumble. At Wolf Run last year I sat on the Devil Steps for ages trying to get the courage to jump down. So I set up some boxes and gradually increased the height. It may not seem like much but to me this was a huge achievement. I was never an active kid - I was uncoordinated, scared of everything and preferred to have my nose in a book - so this stuff is all so new to me but I'm determined to toughen myself up physically AND mentally. Then I took the 30kg ball for a little wander. Back in my powerlifting days I could load a 30-40kg atlas stone with no issues but last week it was essentially glued to the floor and I couldn't shift it. Today however it moved and, whilst it isn't quite a Spartan atlas stone when I'm wet and muddy, it's a damn good start. Family dinners. So tonight for the first time in months hubby cooked. And naturally portioned up a much large meal than I ever could have managed. Rather than complain I chose to eat what I could comfortably manage and then leave the rest. This resulted in many many questions from the children about why I no longer eat everything on my plate. I responded by saying that I’ve never asked them to eat everything on their plates and to only eat what they could manage, and that I’ve had an operation which made my stomach much smaller and now I can only have a tiny amount of what I used to eat. Their response was okay mummy, thank you for telling us. When they ask again which they inevitably will I’ll tell them the same thing. When telling kids, keep language simple, understandable and short.
