Was rising up for refugiés, for zero foodwaste, for forests and trees and oceans🌳 , for cheaper housing, for better food, more sustainable fashion, more green places and more of anything else that makes the world a better place ✌🏾🙋🏽♀️🌻. . And being a mama gives me even more motivation to rise up for a better world. 💪🏾 Cause now this is the home of my little loves too! I wish for them and their friends and beloveds a safe & sweet stay on planet earth 🌿🌱- obviously. 🤎 . Attending marches or protests in the street or squatting houses or diving in dumpsters don’t really fit my current life scenario. 😉My way of rising throughout my mama-hood is buying organic local veggies🥕🥦, learning how to grow them myself, breastfeeding my bebe in public🤱🏽, sometimes washable nappies, hosting “travelers” in our home, picking up plastic rubbish with my toddler-darling, organising occasional clothing shops and other simple small gestures. Oh ánd creating art to empower other mamas!🌱🙆🏾♀️🙅🏾♀️👯♀️ . 2 years ago a group of women led by Sarah Lamballe of @contentwardrobe and @samclarkcoaching were asked if we could create some artwork for a new @Edanlincs refuge house. We were in lockdown at the time, so we all used whatever products and art supplies we had to hand. After several false starts, we finally got to get together and were able to visit @lincolncathedral to see the exhibition of our work. There was a fabulous quilt created by Lincolnshire quilters that has been used to raise money for EdanLincs. Also, there was some truly fabulous artwork created by women from the refuge under the guidance of artist @nadya_monfrinoli. Well what an amazing day! Back in 2020, I took part in an art project (The creative Freedom Project) where around 30 female business owners created artworks for the charity @edanlincs who support victims of domestic abuse. The pieces of art were created to be displayed in the refuges, to add colour and brightness to the interiors. And the styles and beauty of the pieces created were amazing. So fast forward to 2022 and The Creative Freedom project is currently on show as a beautiful art exhibition at Lincoln cathedral. Running from the 6th - 12th June, you can see all the artwork produced by the female creatives, plus a quilt created by a group of Lincolnshire based quilters and posters by artists from EDAN’s own refuges; promoting the theme of empowering women. Do go and support the exhibition, it’s amazing and the venue is pretty spectacular too! Calendars and cards featuring some of the artworks are also available to buy, raising much needed funds for the charity. Follow the link above to EDAN for more information. I was also interviewed by BBC Radio Lincolnshire and the Lincolnite Podcast, so I’ll post more info on this when I have it. Last night was the opening and award ceremony for the Zaafa 2022 Female Art Award exhibition and competition. @monicakoster.art and Ms Blackwell were both chosen finalists for this year's exhibition. So cool seeing Monica's work in an exhibition alongside her uni lecturer's. We are so proud of you. Massive shout out and congratulations to the two winners Audrey Baldwin for the adult Premier award (she wins bragging rights, $3000 and a solo exhibition space in the Zaafa 2023 exhibition) and Vivian Silver-Hessey the winner of the youth award. Another massive shout out to the Zonta club of Ashburton and @shirinkhosraviani (director of the Ashburton Art gallery and former RHS visual art student) and her wonderful team. Humbled to be awarded internationally, a great filmmaker like Dan puts her soul into her works to make a social impact such as her directorial work in IAMANNIKA. “The film is basically about turning the negative remark of just being a woman into a strength,” says Dan. She also added, “I hope more voices of women in filmmaking will be heard in the film industry. That there would be stories of women told by women. Stella Estriber is one of the Delegates for Dubai Expo 2020 — Daluyong ng Diwa (2022), a Contemporary Ensemble Gold Medalist at HKCCDC 2019, and had participated in Goryang Karawang International Festival in Indonesia (2019). On her thoughts on how we could empower more aspiring female dancers to venture into the industry, Stella says “by reminding them that they are important, and telling them that they are worthy enough that they continue to make and do art. Anzieli Corsame is a student and visual artist. Since she was little, she already immersed herself in the arts. She also works as a moderator and assistant for Art Station which is co-founded by her art mentor. ⚔️The Queen of Swords⚔️ She is a seeker of truth. No need for bells and whistles. She is astoundingly perceptive and sees through that veil. She can read a room better than anyone and her mind is always ready. Telling it like it is… is an understatement. She would prefer to tell you the truth, even if she knows it’s not what you want to hear. This Queen is that friend you always ask for advice because you know she cuts right through the bullshit and is always able to put her feelings aside. She has known more loss than most. She’s been hurt more than a few times - which is why she has now chosen to lead from the head instead of just the heart. She is incredibly resilient in the face of obstacles and so independent that most people don’t even know she’s fighting her own battles. She could be bleeding but she’ll always choose to move forward rather than stay down. The Queen of Swords has definitely been told she is intimidating… but I assure you that once trust and respect are established, you see a different side of her. She holds her sword with grace… she fiercely and unapologetically knows who she is… and she knows she doesn’t need a sword to fight. A queen doesn’t need to tell people she’s a queen. 🗡 . Side note… I did my manicure myself! 💅 . ✨Special thank you to my badass magical friend @whitchouli for reminding me who I was… and giving me the inspiration for this new business name. She sells crystals and all sorts of magical goodies… and she is an absolutely lovely human too.✨
