Donating children's books is relatively easy, but nobody wants enciclopedias or classic literature. Once in a while I do sell some technical book about marketing or a motivational book I don't care to keep in my library, but most don't go anywhere and it's not for lack of trying. This cool box was found on the streets of Sidcup in Kent. It’s from the 70s, with a little Penguin embossed, which I’m assuming is also the brand. Well.. the day it was found, my daughter and I had just moved into a place with no fridge (and many others no commodities… but we’ll not dwell on that) so it was a blessing sent to help us go through summer… And certainly I was astonished to have found it, as I was going to browse the charity shops for one. I washed it and used it with ice packs to keep some food cool. Unfortunately It always had a lingering smell, despite me washing it twice and soaking it for hours. Maybe it just needed a stronger detergent and staying under the sun for a few hours. I’ll never know, as we have now passed it on.. on the streets… hopefully it will be useful to somebody else. If anything someone more resourceful than me could make £20 on eBay ;) It’s charming. It has a beautiful light and bright blue colour. It’s sturdy and now that I think of it, it’s 50 years old!! And not a crack on it!!!! 💪😍 It has metal locks and a lovely spiral handle. All in need of de-rusting and a clean, but otherwise in perfect order and functioning as they were on its first day out! Searching on Google, I discovered that under the lid there should have been a removable grid that would have housed an ice pack and kept it in place - very cool thinking!! Also, I had this tiny dress in my stock of #dollsclothes from the trash. But I had no idea how to fix her feet, until a few days later my mom found another bag with dolls clothes and acessories and these boots were just the prosthetics she needed.
