And because we adopted Juliëtte first, we start with her of course! Because she conquered my heart and the love for the galgo was born 🧡 Juliette was born (according to her passport) on 20 September 2017. She was dumped on the street as a too-small galgo, found in a cardboard box. Our racing duckling came into my life on the 2nd of January in 2019. Full of life and energy, love, mischief, the biggest cuddler and her beautiful elegant self. A godsend 🥹 Some fun facts: - her first name was Daantje - she is 55 cm at the withers 📏 - she loves running immensely 🌪️ - she loves to cuddles 🫂 - Juliëtte loves French fries 🍟 - Juliëtte is a real pro at looking pitiful when you are eating and not sharing anything with her 🥺 - Juliëtte is a real drool when she is eating something tasty 🤤 - she sleeps with us in the room and loves to come and lie with us at night, between us 😴 - she is reactive on leash after being attacked and bitten several times 😩 - she is a real mama’s girl 🥰 - she loves taking long walks 🦮 - Juliëtte is a very obedient galgo who can run loose on walks 🙌🏻 - she is a real sun worshipper when the weather is nice outside 😎☀️ - she loves to fetch, but we limit this due to an old injury 🎾🥏 - Juliëtte used to be a very difficult eater, but since we have been giving fresh meat, greens and supplements she has become the easiest dog to make food for 🥩🫐🍓🍏🥦🥬 Every day I am grateful she came into my life and I hope we can enjoy her in our lives for a long time to come! 🧡 Would you like to know anything else about her? Suri Suri was one of the very timid galgos that I met while visiting @sosgalgos in Barcelona. I sat down on the ground not looking at him while he paced back and forth and eventually settled cautiously but comfortably on his bed. These dogs have been through so much, abused, tortured, tossed away like some worn out or broken product. I don’t know how they ever learn to trust again. But they do when given the right understanding, space, time and caring that they need. Thank you to SOS Galgos and @anna.clements3 for saving these precious survivors and finding homes where they can be a part of a loving family and can thrive. Alors un gros yahou pour lui car il a trouvé SA famille. 🥰 Pour ce faire, il a toutefois fallu qu’un évènement triste survienne, soit la perte d’un compagnon à 4 pattes pour Sylvie Larouche et ses filles qui ont perdu leur beau Kosta en mars dernier. Ce toutou a laissé un immense vide chez cette famille, tellement qu’elle ne pensait plus accueillir un nouvel ami. Mais voilà que la magie de Brent a opéré. Noch immer sind Jagdhunde in Spanien 🇪🇸 im Tierschutzgesetz ausgeschlossen, als wären sie ein Werkzeug 🤬…. Was dazu führt, dass die Jäger mehr oder weniger mit ihnen machen können was sie wollen ohne große Konsequenzen. Die Tierheime in Spanien sind so überfüllt, dass einige ein Aufnahmestop haben um den anderen Hunden gerecht zu werden. Sie kommen an ihre psychischen, physischen und finanziellen Grenzen!!! Das schlimme ist, dass immer weiter und weiter gezüchtet wird und die Anzahl immer mehr steigt. Da die Hunde zum Teil mit erst 2 Jahren für die Jagd schon zu alt und für die Rennen zu wenig schnell sind, werden sie gnadenlos aussortiert. Geld 💵 regiert die Welt. Die Jagdlobby und Rennindustrie ist so mächtig, dass sie bis in die Politik reicht (Übrigens nicht nur in Spanien). We went to #SheffieldGeneralCemetery and #SheffieldBotanicalGardens and then for burgers and chippies 🍔🍟. The botanical gardens provided the location for some high octane squirrel hunting 🐿️🌶️🌶️🌶️🐿️.
