"Bhakshak" is a film that often hesitates to release in theaters due to our poor choices in movie selection, paralleling the issue with our preference for news that prioritizes TRP over genuine importance. In contrast, this movie imparts some profound life lessons, and credit is due to director Pulkit for delivering a thought-provoking narrative. 🎭🔥❤️ The film serves as a compelling chapter on how reporters should conduct themselves, emphasizing that a reporter is not merely a conduit for news but the voice of the voiceless. Bhumi Pednekar astounds the audience with yet another outstanding performance, while Sanjay Mishra consistently delivers a strong act. It's gratifying to witness Durgesh Kumar's potential effectively utilized in his role, and Sai Tamhankar adeptly portrays the police character.❤️🎭🎬📽 The song "Shamil Hai" induces goosebumps and serves as a mirror reflecting societal issues. The movie's concluding monologue by Bhumi has the potential to reshape one's thinking. Overall, "Bhakshak" is a commendable effort that challenges our viewing preferences and offers valuable insights into the responsibilities of a reporter. . . . . . . #bhakshak #bhakshakonnetflix #bhakshakmovie #bhakshakmoviereview #bhumipednekar #redchilliesentertainment #bollywood #movie #Netflix #netflixindia #journalist #newsreporter #filmcompanion #humansofcinema #chalchitratalks #gangsofcinepur #moviecritic #MovieReview

There are movies that arouse your senses. The cinematography of "Three of Us" just did that by transporting to the few days that were spent in the Konkan coast, somewhere near Alibaug. There is a certain charm in the Konkan way of life. On the first glance, it can come across as a very un-glamourous counterpart of its neighbouring state, Goa. But if you can let go of the part where your imagination of sea shore shacks takes a set back, it unveils a different part of it, like a community which is very much rooted to it's "Udgam/roots". The first thing you notice is how the sea and fish are an intricate way of their everyday life. Then, the beauty of the Konkan coastline, which is so beautiful, so less tourists, but more of the locals running their daily errands. The Koli women with their flower head gear while unscaling or drying the fishes. The houses are so full of character. Interestingly, you will find Indianised idols of Jesus in the courtyard, which is quite unheard of, especially if you're from the other side of the country. Then comes the greenery and the best way to describe the foliage is "So much like Goa, yet so different from Goa" This is precisely what a movie with good cinematography does, right? . . . #teampixel #googleindia #alibaug #gangsofcinepur #maharashtra #konkan

Tumse Na Ho Payega (2023) Streaming on : @disneyplushotstar . . Zindagi mein do sabse important decision lene hai: 1. Aisa kaam dhoondhna hai jisko karne se aapko Khushi aur Paise Mile 2. Aisa Partner dhoondhna hai jiske saath wo paise aap kharch Karna chahe aur wo khushiyaan baant sake . Is film ki kahani mein hamare Hero ki zindagi bhi inhi 2 choices ke aaspaas ghoomti hai.. Jaanne Ke liye Film Dekh Sakte Hai . Aur Agar Dekh li Hai to aaiye is par baat karte hai... Mujhe film acchi lagi bas beech mein thodi si stretch lag Rahi thi, baaki shuruaat aur end accha tha. Gaurav aur Devika ki Love Story bhi kaafi sahi thi, ab mera ek doubt hai ki film ke end mein Gaurav ne kaha ki Aap successful hai ya nhi ye sirf insaan khud decide karta hai, aur main samaaj ko ek baar ke liye side bhi kar du toh Devika Jo Hamari film ki Naayika hai wo Gaurav Ko Bhaav Nhi Deti Agar Wo Successful Na Hua Hota, I am talking about initial phase, baad mein toh devika ko bhi gaurav mein potential dikha that's why she stayed there, Aur Gaurav bhi Devika ko avoid kar rha tha jab tal use apne business mein confidence aur potential nhi aa gaya, Toh Successful Hona zaroori hai boss. .. . Baaki Film Tareef ke Kaabil Hai, Jis tarah se usne kaafi zaroori muddon par ek accha take diya. Kudos to whole team✨👏 . . Is film ko dekhte hue Karwaan (2018), Tamasha (2015) aur Dhunki (2019) ki yaad aayi. #tumsenahopayega #gangsofwasseypur #ishwaksingh #mahimamakwana #niteshtiwari #ashwinyiyertiwari #disneyplushotstar #meghnamalik #moviephilosophy #filmymusafir #gangsofcinepur #humansofcinema #mehfilmmein #hotstarmovies #moviebuff #zindagi #career #choice #mumbaifilms #tamasha #karwaan #dhunki

#1 of Movie under Microscope. Purpose to life Is money everything, can someone not want money and still be happy. does having a bigger purposE to life hAve no credit. Why Wanting to do something different gets soo many eyebrows twitch. The parallels this movie creates between the two thought processes gives justification to why the society pull back the head sticking out of the crowd. Jealousy Why is society soo unfair to the stickups, is it that they hate it, is it that they're just corrupt.....OR is it because someone was able to rise from material good and deliver to their purpose.... And that someone wasn't them. Is that it? "I surender" Does it even matter?, who am i doing this for anyway? , When the world doesn't care - why should i. There's only enough drive and energy within someone like "Dibankar". fighting with some bullies and corrupt braindead is something but fighting against the nature of humans is another sTory altogether. Sacrifice Dibankar's sacrifice was justified in the movie, he had a purpose, But what about 'Seema'. She just dedicated her whole life to someone, did she have no purpose of her own, had no desire to enjoy riches, had no dreams of her own. Even the movie did not dwell that deep enough, but maybe that's the whole point . She not getting dwelled enough either purposefully or naturalLY demonestrates the same damn point. #bollywood #ekkdoctorkimaut #tapansinha #gangsofwassepur #gangsofcinepur #shabanaazmi #artfilm #filmsofindia #kapoor #irfaankhan #satyajitray

There has been a lot of debate about Nepotism, but this is not how the Hindi film industry used to be. Guddi is a movie by Hrishikesh Mukherjee that gives a BTS of how down to earth has the Indian Film Industry been and more than the artists that face the camera, it's the artists behind the camera who are the real superstars. It has been 50 years since the doe-eyed Guddi (played by a luminous Jaya Bachchan) turned up on a film set to meet her hunky idol (the He-Man Dharmendra, playing himself). The Hrishikesh Mukherjee film, released in 1971, with the message that ‘not everything that glitters is gold’, remains as relevant today for its hard look at life when the arc lights are switched off and red carpets are rolled. It is on YouTube. Do give it a watch. #punkanddisorderly #guddi #hrishikeshmukherjee #jayabachchan #dharmendra #cinephile #cinema #cinemalover #gangsofcinepur #humansofcinema #bollywood #bollywoodstyle #bollywoodactor #bollywoodhot #bollywoodsongs

Veer Zaara x Sunflower Triptych by Iris Scott From the day it released until December 2006, Veer Zaara was watched every Sunday at my house as it was my mother's favourite. And the best part was none of us ever got bored of the movie. Have you ever been in love? I know it sounds ridiculous to ask but honestly, have you ever been in love? The kind of love that makes your heart beat fast? The kind of love that makes you dream all day long? The kind of love that makes you listen to one song on loop? Well, many of us have been there. I know I have. There are a number of songs that can bring instant goosebumps and make your little heart pound when you are truly, madly and deeply in love. There’s no doubt that love is a very abstract feeling and it cannot be put into words. However, some songs help in expressing what you cannot put into words. And, one such song, that is etched on my heart, is Tere Liye from Veer Zaara. With hauntingly beautiful lyrics and soul-stirring vocals, this song is a divine saga of love, separation and sacrifice. The song talks about a whole-hearted love that completely consumes the soul of its listener. Apart from that, the picturization of the song talks about the heart-wrenching love between two lovers that grows with separation and deepens with sacrifice. With the perfect concoction of the beautiful voices of Lata Mangeshkar and Roop Kumar Rathod, this song feels like receiving a warm hug after a long day. This song will instantly make you emotional with its calming lyrics, penned down by Javed Akhtar. Every single word and line of this heart-rending song is not only beautifully carved but also builds up several emotions for each listener. Every time you listen to the song, you relate to it on a different level. The song starts with two lovers, Veer (Shah Rukh Khan) and Zaara (Preity Zinta), meeting after twenty-two long years. From reminiscing their beautiful memories together to looking at each other to their heart’s content, the duo make us all teary eyed for a good three and a half minutes. With the light rain drizzling in the background, the on-screen couple shares some beautiful moments together. #18yearsofveerzaara

'This is not a love story, but a story about love' After delaying it for two years I finally watched October. What fascinated me the most was the fact that the protagonist, Shiuli barely had four dialogues in it. Yet as the film progressed i kept getting to know her more and more intimately. I never see her playing the piano but i knew she enjoyed playing it because someone loved her enough to remember that. I saw her pluck Jasmines off the ground but I didn't know why. In the end when her mother talks about her love for them and how that came to be something clicks into place. I know the connection between these two subjects is faint. But it made me think about how we look through the eyes of our loved ones. My incessant ukulele practicing makes me look like a madwoman on a mission. At least from my perspective. But what my father sees is his restless daughter getting a moment of focus and calm in her life. My habit of checking the brakes three times before taking my mother for a drive, seems obsessive to me. But what my mother sees is care and worry. I draw little circles on his palm when we hold hands. That to me is childish. But to him it's a reminder that what we have is constant. Is this how it goes? With love comes memory. Shiuli doesn't have to say a word for us to know her. I wonder, if become incapable of talking someday, how much will everyone remember? In the end, we see dan uprooting the shiuli tree and taking it with him because he's not able to leave it behind. Such is the beauty of this story. Because what is love, if not remembrance?

25 years ago, a young French girl got down with an American guy, on a train station in Vienna, for as good a reason anyone can hope for: It was good to talk to him. It must have been, because all these years later, their conversations are still magical, they are still relevant...they are still worth getting off the train for. People say that Richard Linklater's Before Sunrise was 'ahead of its time'. I don't think that's true. Before Sunrise belonged to the past as much as it did to the future, and the present at the time of its release. It doesn't belong to a certain generation or a decade; and I am afraid I will have to use the cliche, and say - 'it's timeless'. I watched it much later. 25 years later. As a 25-year-old. It was a conscious decision. Not the 25-year-part, but I did try to not watch it for a very long time. Romance in cinema always makes me sad. It is probably because of life experiences, but I am not sure. Anyhow, watching one of the greatest romantic movies of all time? Sure as hell not happening. Before Sunrise found me, though, on a day when my determination was a bit shaky - and I gave in. It was like Jesse asking Celine to spend a day with him, after just talking to her for a few minutes. She couldn't say no, I couldn't either. To my surprise, it didn't make me sad. Well, it did, but in a good way I was sad because it ended, because it was so good to hear Celine and Jesse, talk. Their banter, jokes, wisdom - everything fit in my world. Which is insane, if you think about it. I come from a small town in India and have never left the country, let alone the continent. So it has to be some sort of wizardry for me to be able to relate to the things, said by people who are nothing like me, more than 2 decades later. But as Celine told Jesse, "If there's any kind of magic in this world, it must be in the attempt of understanding someone, sharing something". Maybe, it is wizardry after all. The writing of Before Sunrise is such, that you feel like you are a part of Jesse and Celine's adventures. Those two are real. They are like us. Free but dependent, reckless but scared, strong but vulnerable. #punkanddisorderly #beforesunrise

The finale episode of Modern Love Mumbai is Cutting Chai. First of all, let me begin by saying that it's so nice to see Chitrangada Singh and Arshad Warsi after so long. May they get more quality work in future! Amen. Now coming to the episode. Have you ever felt that you are stuck in a relationship? I have never been in a serious relationship (don't plan to get in one anytime soon), but my father has always advised me that if one wants a long-lasting, happy and a fruitful relationship, start accepting your partner for who they are. Don't get commit until you are sure that for the rest of your life you can tolerate that other human. Because it's not gonna be a matter for some years, it's going to be decades and if you're lucky then half of a century. So be sure that the person you are with, is the one you would love to spend the rest of your life with. Otherwise, there's always an option of divorce. Yes, there are going to be flaws. Yes, there are going to be disagreements. Yes, there are going to be thunderstorms. But acceptance and respect is the key. You simply need to accept that whatever that person is, has been your choice at first place, just accept them for who they are, respect them for who they are and be there for them even if you get late all the time. And also have the humility to apologise. This is exactly what Cutting Chai is all about. One of the most simple stories out of the 6, yet, it touches your heart in more ways than one. This one narrates the story of Latika, an aspiring writer, trying to finish her book but is caught up between family, husband, and chores. However, it isn't on that very note that the story ends. As Arshad's character, Daniel spoke about 'cutting chai', it is technically not enough, and you always keep wanting for more, but it has its own beauty, and that's the thing about this story too. Arshad and Chitrangada, both slide into the characters of Daniel and Latika (respectively) rather beautifully, and well, we expect nothing less. As a working woman, Latika's emotions are rather universal, and married or not, one feels that way at some point, and that does make it beautiful. #punkanddisorderly #modernlovemumbai

The fifth episode of Modern Love Mumbai is I Love Thane. The beauty of 'I Love Thane' will truly stay with me forever. There's no rocket science to this story, but there's so much depth. Also, due credits to the writer, for the dialogues are really touching, and Masaba as Saiba is a treat to watch. Though not a 34 year old, she's relatable max, and that's where my bias for this story did kick in. As someone trying to find 'someone' through apps, while navigating her insecurities, she happens to meet Parth through work, and offline, and that's how it all starts. Another very simple story, but there's this absolute beauty to it, and that clicks on multiple levels. Masaba should definitely act more, and do such roles in particular, for she adds substance to them and how. As for Ritwik, we've seen just how amazing he is, and this one turned out to be no different. You know that one word - Thairaav. That's the feeling one gets while watching this episode. In an incomprehensibly fast world, this is a love letter to slowness, to getting back to the basics, to being in touch with oneself, to not letting notifications and algorithms drive the day's agenda! The story has symbolically embodied all of this in Thane and residents of Mumbai will understand why! We live ourselves through love, we hope to seek healthy companionship and someone to share our joys, sorrows, happiness and achievements. This episode from Modern Love has Saiba, who drives to Thane for a project but unexpectedly she finds a companion there, Parth. There are long walks, discussion of childhood memories, bonding over the past, and talking about how important is it to notice the little things in life and appreciate them in life. Parth on the other hand is the person who hasn't left his childhood place Thane and hopes to make it the best place for people living there. Masaba as Saiba is surprised that Parth doesn't have a social media account, to which he says he has two friends whom he meets daily. Everything about this episode is just so real, including the blemishes on the faces of the actors. No make up and nothing made up. #punkanddisorderly #modernlove #modernlovemumbai #masabagupta

The fourth episode of Modern Love Mumbai is My Beautiful Wrinkles. By the looks of it, it seems like something similar to Sid's love story from Dil Chahta Hai. However, this story narrates a rather unique tale, and it displays so much more with time. Truly one of my top 3 from this anthology, it talks about acceptance, letting go, and a little more of all those things. Without being preachy, it gives you lessons about a lot of things, and for most part, it is subtle and effective. Sarika as Dilbar and Danesh as Kunal are both absolutely impressive. They share this instant chemistry on-screen, without which, this story could have been a huge bummer. This story is truly proof of what good actors can do with a great script, and we say cheers to that. #punkanddisorderly #modernlove #modernlovemumbai #daneshrazvi #sarika #mybeautifulwrinkles #primevideo #amazonprime #primevideoindia #amazonindia #cinema #cinemalover #cinephile #gangsofcinepur #humansofcinema #writersofig #writersofindia #writerscommunity #writersofinstagram #writers

The first episode of Modern Love Mumbai starts with Raat Rani. Could we ever get enough of Shonali Bose? The answer is always going to be no. She is one of the finest filmmakers we have, and I could definitely bet my life on how her work can never go wrong with female subjects. Fatima plays the role of Lalzari, and in the very beginning, we are shown how her husband of 10 years leaves her. The question is who do you love when your lover leaves you in the middle? Lali finds a companion for herself in a rusty rickety cycle. Even alone, she must continue cycling her way through life, even if crossing the flyover requires her to get off the cycle and push it. Although she unfailingly waits for Lutfi to return, with time the trembling rickety cycle is now a stable ride. And she figures, she doesn't need anyone except herself. She meets Lutfi one last time, where she has an epiphany: her life was on autopilot mode. Had Lutfi not left her, she would've never learnt to do things for and by herself. She has crossed the flyover. She has gone from wanting to maintain her house for when Lutfi returns to wanting to maintain it for herself. Because she likes it that way. At the end, she cycles onto the sea link shrieking and squealing in the joy of doing something 'not allowed'. All her life after being policed and told of things she is 'not allowed', getting deceived in love is the biggest blessing in disguise for her. She's now finally, free; liberated with the reigns of her life in her hands. She's crossed the flyover, literally and metaphorically. She is Raatrani. No matter what is planted beside her to suppress her scent, it shall not lessen. Watching the sea link I'd always associated it with Wake Up Sid and it's vitality. But the next time I look at it, I will associate it with Lali's joy of empowerment and independence. #punkanddisorderly #modernlove #modernlovemumbai #fatimasanashaikh #raatrani #amazonprime #primevideo #amazonindia #primevideoindia #showreview #romcom #writersofinstagram #writerscommunity #writersofig #writersofindia #cinema #cinemalover #cinephile #gangsofcinepur #humansofcinema

#spoileralert Parasite, directed by Bong Joon ho is an Oscar-winning movie set in South Korea that dwells on the topic of discrimination and the wide gap in the living standards of different classes of people. A parallel comparison is drawn between the lives of the rich couple — Yen Kyo and Min with their daughter Da-Hye and son, Da song, and a poor couple, Kim ki Taek and Choong Sook with their children Ki-Jung and Ki-woo. Mr. Min is a rich CEO and has a grand mansion to call home, while Kim lives in a semi-underground basement. One of the iconic dialogues of the movie, “If I were as rich as her, I’d be nice too, heck I’d be nicer,” sums up the movie theme. Money smoothes all creases, the poor worry about dealing with the many problems every day that the rich aren’t even aware of. While the rich family rejoices in the rain, Kim’s family is wrecked homeless by the same weather. Ki-woo gets a job in Min’s home under a false identity, and his entire family follows suit. In a hilarious turn of events, the poor eventually reclaim the wealth to live a sustained life. However, that dream is quickly cut short as another low-income family-driven crazy by debts and imprisonment announces its arrival out of the blue. The movie transcends entertainment to pose a serious question to society and its capitalist way of living that, as Karl Marx pointed out, is making the rich richer. At the same time, the poor serve the very system that abuses it. Parasite questions the society on a deeper level – the kind of movie that marks an era – the shift to meaningful cinema. #PunkNDisorderly #parasite #parasitemovie #bongjoonho #koreancinema #amazonprime #kdrama #koreandrama #anime #animeart #cinema #cinemalover #cinephile #humansofcinema #gangsofcinepur #oscars #oscarnominee #willsmith #chrisrock #oscar2022

Have you been overpowered by uncontrollable sadness? Have you been forced by the society to continue with your life even though you want to just run away and hide somewhere? Have you ever just walked along a path crying, unsure of the destination? These are some emotions that I could relate to after watching Wladyslaw in The Pianist. The film is closely based on the Pianist and Holocaust survivor Wladyslaw Szpilman. The story is poignant and deeply affecting and deserves the 3 Oscars that it won. Szpilman's family was prosperous and seemingly secure, and his immediate reaction was, "I'm not going anywhere." We watch as the Nazi noose tightens. His family takes heart from reports that England and France have declared war; surely the Nazis will soon be defeated and life will return to normal. It does not. The city's Jews are forced to give up their possessions and move to the Warsaw ghetto, and there is a somber shot of a brick wall being built to enclose it. A Jewish police force is formed to enforce Nazi regulations, and Szpilman is offered a place on it; he refuses, but a good friend, who joins, later saves his life by taking him off a train bound for the death camps. Then the movie tells the long and incredible story of how Szpilman survived the war by hiding in Warsaw, with help from the Polish resistance. After the war, we learn, Szpilman remained in Warsaw and worked all of his life as a pianist. His autobiography was published soon after the war, but was suppressed by Communist authorities because it did not hew to the party line (some Jews were flawed and a German was kind). Republished in the 1990s, it caught Polanski's attention and resulted in this film, which refuses to turn Szpilman's survival into a triumph and records it primarily as the story of a witness who was there, saw, and r Life is a continuous battle between how we want to live it and how it pans out for us. While there is victory on certain fronts, there are moments of defeat which we have to accept and live with. And in such circumstances, the best way forward is to hang our defeats, sorrows and difficulties around our neck as a medallion and accept them as a part of our existence.

Thoughts on Minnal Murali : ( not a review ) ⁣ ⁣ First and foremost, Minnal Murali has my heart. Call me a cynic, but never did i think that one day I'm going to see a mundu clad superhero running like flash in an Indian movie. Superhero tropes are nothing new. A normal guy, run down by the world gets bitten by a radioactive spider or gets struck by lightning and boom! You have a superhero. But making the character human enough to balance out the super part is where Minnal Murali sets itself apart. ⁣ ⁣ Also, this is my first Tovino Thomas movie ever. I loved him as Jaison but i loved Guru Somasundaram's Shibu more, which is another very interesting side of this movie. Just like the hero, the antagonist is also painfully human. He has some form of mental disabilities and is downtrodden by the villagers at every step of life. So when one day when he gets all this power and finally snaps, it isn't a surprise. It's understandable. It's not your cut and dry good vs evil. You see that everyone is hurting in their own way. What makes us, us is how we react to it. I was sad when Shibu died, and i think that's beautiful. ⁣ ⁣ However, my favorite characters who i loved equally : Josemon ( Jaison's nephew), Our little unofficial puppet master. He teaches his mama everything there is to know about superheroes, thus being instrumental in his transformation to Minnal Murali.⁣ ⁣ Biji aka "Bruce Lee ". I don't know what it is particularly but somehow she's just really inspiring ( and very very cool). I was sure she's going to become the victim of one of those damsel in distress tropes. But she stayed solid throughout and did something very crucial for the story without needing a superhero to do it for her.A superwoman in her own right, she really deserves her own movie. ⁣ ⁣ All in all, i loved it. It's a movie that going to be my comfort watch in the future. It's a little lengthy, but after a clear distinction between the protagonist and the antagonist is revealed the pace for me kind of sped up.it was a really fun experience. I'm looking forward to see more Mundu clad men lifting busses with their bare hands in the future. America has had It's fun, ab India ki baari :)
