Christine était la dernière dont la vie sentimentale tenait la route. Et patatras! Coeur trompé, déchiré, rien ne va plus. Un seul refuge, le quartier Beaugrenelle, où toute la bande en rupture de mecs va épancher ses états d'âmes avec sensibilité, complicité et humour. Critique : ----------- Un film de nanas. Un film réalisé par une femme. Les films de nanas sont trop rares et tellement différents. De belles gonzesses et une histoire loufoque. , un film féministe avant l'heure . Actuellement le film ferait un triomphe . Et bien nous tenons ici un des nombreux coupables ! L'histoire est vide et sans intérêt, la narration est hasardeuse et le jeu d'acteur est bancal. Je m'attendais pas à dire ça un jour, mais le meilleur acteur du film, c'est le chat... Je pense cependant qu'il y a pire. Certes, le film n'a pas grand chose pour se défendre, mais il ne commet pas de graves erreurs non plus. Il a la bonne idée de ne contenir aucun homme du début à la fin par exemple (même dans les figurants). Aavesham translated to English is excitement, and if excitement while watching a Malayalam film is what the audience has been missing for a while, Jithu Madhavan has served a full meal of it to satisfy above and beyond your craving. Set entirely in Bengaluru, Aavesham takes off right from the first scene to the setting of conflict, confrontation, and resolution. You feel the energy, the blood ooze, and the burning in you to have the action take place and see the bad guys being beaten up badly. Supported by a lot of humor that comes across from characters like Aju, Bibi, Shanthan, Ranga, and Amban, the laugh riot never stops. One after the other, the jokes keep coming and everything strikes the right chord and all that credit goes to Jithu Madhavan’s witty writing and understanding of the audience’s pulse. Fahadh Faasil as Ranga is a firecracker of a performance where the character, his mannerisms, and his dialect overshadow everything else. Sajin Gopu as Amban is the second hero of the film, a lifetime-settlement character for the man himself who looks as strong as a rock from the outside but is kind on the inside, hard to pull off characters like that. Sushin’s music is the storytelling tool that Jithu smartly uses to guide the audience’s emotions. If not for Sushin, Aavesham would not have had the kind of hype it is receiving right now. Malayalam Cinema has had a huge void of films made on a large scale purely for the extravaganza theatrical watching experience, with Jithu Madhavan’s Aavesham that void should disappear. I didn't expect this to be so entertaining. Nor did I know the core characters are based on real people, which added more appreciation and acknowledgment of the creative approach. Guy Ritchie is giving a slight Quentin Terrentino vibe, especially in the opening scene. This is humorous throughout, light with tons of eye candy to go around. Man Bites Dog (Remy Belvaux, 1992) Man Bites Dog is one of the funniest comedies there is. It’s also completely unhinged and thoroughly deranged. I first saw it back when I was in high school probably around 2000 and it instantly was bumped into a top ten all timer for me. It is such a perfectly executed, pun intended, mockumentary with its delicious pitch black humor and non-stop ridiculousness. In a way it is the cheerful antidote to something like Gerald Kargl’s infamous 1983 film Angst which covers similar territory but there is not a funny frame in that film (and also incidentally the sole directorial outing for its director.) Man Bites Dog however is hilarious right out the gate beginning with Ben (Benoit Poelvoorde), doc subject and resident serial killer, explaining the various weight vs buoyancy ratios needed to sink a bodies of different sizes and shapes in water. The film is freewheeling and carefree and we follow Ben around the city as he mercilessly murders people with not a care in the world, all the while pontificating his world views, reciting poems, and visiting his friends and family. He is truly a romantic and sees life as such until he ends it for the unlucky and unsuspecting. We would never get an American serial killer scene talking about wanting to get fresh mussels for dinner at a seaside restaurant as a celebration for the good aka murder work that was done earlier in the day. What’s also excellent is the blurring of the lines between Ben and the crew. In a kind of meta experiment the documentary crew, all using their actual names, are the actual real crew of filmmakers and they become increasingly more sucked into Ben’s life as their documenting progresses. They begin as passive observers of the subject to active participants, whether it be holding down a child’s legs while Ben suffocates the kid with a pillow, helping murder a rival documentary crew, and even horrifically joining in on an assault that ends in one of the bloodiest set pieces of the entire film. And some of the crew aren’t as lucky as others and roles have to be refilled along the way…

I, The Executioner (Tai Kato, 1968) God damn the opening scene in I, The Executioner is an all timer in brutality. I had seen mention of that in some of the reviews that I had glanced over before watching but still was taken aback by the sheer level of brutality presented. I feel like people in 1968 would have absolutely lost it in the theater and stormed out. The rest of the film is thankfully not as graphic as the opening but honestly it’s still extremely grim material and not for the faint of heart. The film is essentially a serial killer movie crossed with mystery film but unlike most serial killer and mystery films we get the reveal of the killer in the opening scene and the mystery is why does he kill who he does? The opening scene sets up the premise. Lead Kawashima (Makoto Sato) in Psycho-esque quick cut murder montage, albeit way more violent and with the addition of a rape, forces his victim to write down a list of names on a scrap of paper before stabbing her to death. This is Kawashima’s kill list. Four middle class women with no explanation as to who they are or why they are on this list. And then for the duration of the film we very slowly learn why they are the chosen ones but not before most of them meet a fateful rape plus murder end.

Il CHIAROSCURO (Low-Key) crea forti contrasti e ombre più definite e scure. Spesso l'illuminazione è dura, la luce di riempimento meno intensa o, come nei fotogrammi proposti, addirittura assente. Nell'immagine tratta da 'Quarto Potere' ('Citizen Kane', r. di Orson Welles, 1941, USA) questo tipo di illuminazione nega allo spettatore la possibiltà di visualizzare il volto dei soggetti (fig. 1); per il direttore della fotografia (Gregg Toland) era importante che il pubblico non prendesse troppa confidenza con questi personaggi in modo da non "oscurare" la complessa figura del protagonista, Charles Foster Kane. Stilisticamente il film di Welles e Toland fece scuola, tanto da influenzare il look di molti film realizzati lungo il decennio. Nello stesso periodo il genere NOIR si impose proponendo storie cupe e ossessive che ricorrevano spesso a uno stile di illuminazione in chiaroscuro. Molti anni dopo, il fantascientifico 'Blade Runner' (r. di R.
