Jade has had a whirlwind of the last few days. She fell and hit her head at school. Long story short, Jesse and I rushed her to the ER and ended up waiting 6 hours for them to tell Jhan and I that we have to head to Riley’s hospital because she needs to be seen by a pediatric neurologist. After waiting until almost midnight to leave that hospital to come to the one two hours away by ambulance (jhan followed in our van), we got to Riley’s only to do tests with doctors, and wait until 5pm to get into a room and to be admitted. End result is…she got a concussion, knocked her equilibrium off and she wasn’t able to stand up or sit up without getting so dizzy. All scans were clear and she got her memory back, was happy and laughing with Jhan and the nurses, and we are going to stay tonight and in the morning follow up with a pediatric physical therapist to help her get to walking without falling over. She is okay! She’s happy and healthy, we just have to have her rest and heal before they can release us to go home. Thank you to everyone who banded together to help take care of our kids, get them to places, and for those who have donated meals to the kids. We are so overly grateful. “Hopefully” we can go home tomorrow afternoon. I’ll keep you posted. God be glorified regardless. #OhJadeyGirl #ImSoTired #SoThankfulShesOkay
After too many nights sleeping in hospital chairs I have learned I am deathly allergic to hospital pillows. Have my eyes and nose swell shut after laying on one for a short while. Thank God I always have benadryl on me. Different hospital same pillows and had it happen again. The sprinkles on top of already impossible times. It's me, Hi! I'm the problem, it's me.... In the last two weeks, I totalled my car, sold a house, bought a house, moved an entire house with only four people in total helping (including myself), attempted to unpack a house - all while feeling like I'm dropping the ball on everything (mostly work). After spending the morning in the rain, I'm now sitting at the vet with my kitten - wondering how I'm going to pull off the 10-hour drive in my mom's old Honda Fit with my kiddo in less than a week for a funeral and to visit a sick relative. 😞 Throughout my life, things have always "worked out." It usually comes with a price, or is hard a shit, but I always manage to get by. Strangely enough, I'm more annoyed by the head cold and missing my workouts - but I also really just need a nap. 🫠 And more time. 🥺 Isn't that always true? If you're in a place where you're just "going through it," I feel you, and we'll get through it.
