This is something that’s been going on long enough, and last night was the scariest episode I’ve ever experienced. I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t drink, felt like something was stuck in middle of my chest. not only did I scare myself, but I also scared my kids and my husband. So today I’m recovering and I’m doing alot better. . So what yall don’t know is I’ve been dealing with issues with my esophagus where food just not going down the right way. I never knew what it was called til last night when I went to ER. . It’s called Dysphagia, it’s when you’re having trouble swallowing. This condition occurs when solids and liquids stick to a persons throat on the way down to the stomach, or when food takes longer to get to the stomach than usual. You may have problems swallowing food, liquids, or both. Years ago I had acid reflux, didn’t really take anything for it, I just watched what I ate. But I think over the years, maybe it’s causing a flare up. Enough is enough now. They hooked me up to an IV put a sodium chloride in my IV for dehydration because I could eat or drink for 7 hours, and a valume to relax the esophagus. By time I left I was able to swallow comfortably. . So if you are one that is experiencing this! PLEASE Don’t ignore it. . Last night was a wake up call to take this serious. So now I’m taking the steps I need to do to take care of this and see what’s going on. So now it’s time for an endoscopy to put an end to this trauma I’ve been experiencing. . Yes this is something personal, but this more of me sharing my experience and hopes to help anyone else going through this. . If you’ve gone through this, share with me. Life is funny … At 21, I was on track for law school, so I thought, I got pregnant with Justin and opted for something “less stressful” — grad school (I’ll just get my Masters) 🤷🏽♀️ In 2017, I made another go for law school, but then not too soon after, I decided to move back to California, and law school was once again in the rear view. When I finally moved back to California in 2019, I went down the law school path again, but then the world came to a screeching halt — COVID. Needless to say, God laughs at our plans. Timing is everything. I am in the best head space surrounded around the best mentors. My vision and purpose are clear — fighting for justice, fighting for rights, being the voice for the voiceless and suppressed. It won’t be easy, in fact, it will be tough!
