My little man was treated to a Meg & Mog book after bieng brave on his second hearing test this week 💕 I can't thank the team at the audiology in Southampton. We did the Grufflo trail 👣 @moorsvalley. BEEN OFF GRID// Last Friday the 20th of October was my beautiful mum's birthday. The first one we had had without her. She would have been 57. In the past few years, we started a little tradition of doing something together instead of presents. Making memories instead of buying things to sit on a shelf. For her 40th birthday we sky-dived together, Last year we went to Van Gough's art expedition, and the year before that we went to see her favourite movie as a musical - Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. This year, we went camping and decided to make new memories as a family in her honour. I called mum "mother duck" and our campsite which we had never been to before was full of ducks, walking and swimming around, iv never seen anything like it. We went to get fish and chips one day for lunch and the local shop was called "Mumms in the Myall". I know she was around us, sending me these signs. My heart aches every day for her, and days like this make me realise it's actually real. I'll never actually get to have a hug from her, one where she wouldn't let me go because she wasn't ready to. But, I feel content in spending the time away with my family doing something different and most of all, making memories, just like we used to. I'm adapting old traditions in a new way to keep them alive. My son, one day will know we still celebrate her birthday we still celebrate her life, in a way our family can remember forever!
