Only ONE paint chip hydrangea piece left 🤩 This particular piece is unique because of it's two-toned pink petals with the slightest touch of light blue, as if the soil under the hydrangea had just barely enough acidity for the blue to come through but not take over the entire bloom. 🩷💙 (swipe over to see it's close-up) 👉🏼😍 This paint chip hydrangea was hand-torn from my paint palette that I used while painting my Golden Hydrangea collection, 🎨 and each piece was placed one-by-one. The paint chips are secured on a 4"x4" mat and then the piece is finished with an oversize 20"x20" frame. The nursery is favorite room in our entire home... partially because our daughter is often in there (and it was my room when I was little 🥰) but partially because I really spent the time to design and decorate with intention. My baby girl is 7 months old today!! 💙 It's been so fun to watch her become so much more observant and develop a little personality. Springtime brings new growth 🌿 This weekend my husband and I will be working a lot on prepping our yard for spring, cleaning it all up and making it an extension of our home. I really want to use the backyard more (why have it if you don't ever use it??) and right now it is pretty muddy and dirty. Instead we want to work toward making it a beautiful sanctuary full of fun, laughter, plants, and a place we look forward to spending time as a family when the weather is nice. #FunFact Some of you all may already know this but our home is my childhood home that I lived in through 3rd grade. My parents kept the house and rented it out for years to families and now it is our home! 🏡 I absolutely love this house and am so thankful my parents held on to it. It is surreal that it has been that long but also strange because we can’t imagine a world without her. 💝 As a mom, an artist and a business owner, I have spent a lot of these past 6 months juggling and trying to find the perfect balance of all the roles I play, and I have come to find that there really isn’t one. I have learned that if you are looking for one, you’re going to waste a lot of time searching and stressing about the balance instead of just being a wife, mom, business owner, artist, and more. So I have stopped seeking the perfect balance and starting just being. It has brought so much peace and has taken away *some* of the extra stress around doing it all. 🎀 Don't get me wrong, I still struggle to not desire the perfect balance, but I am making an intentional effort to just be. A little over a week ago my baby girl turned 5 months old ✨️ She is the sweetest little girl with the biggest gummy smile who can light up any room she is in. We’ve got a lot of new faces around here so I thought I’d re-introduce myself 🎉 I’m Liesel Anne, the owner, artist and designer behind Liesel Anne Studios. I mainly use gouache and hand paint everything for our shop! We are based out of Lawrence, Kansas where I live with my husband, our daughter, and our dog and cat! A few fun facts about me: 1. I'm a new mom! Adeleinn (pronounced Adeline) is almost 5 months old and I am learning how to be a mom, business owner, artist, wife, and more all at the same time! It's definitely a challenge to find the time to work as much as I used to, but I'm really enjoying being this little girl’s mama. I learn something new every day! 💕 2. I am a self-taught artist. 🎨 I have no formal training and actually have my degree in health care. I've always loved being creative, making things with my hands, and making music, but I picked up a paintbrush a few years ago and ever since then, I haven't put it down. I think I have really found my style in whimsical art that spreads joy! 🥳 3. I am a 4th generation Jayhawk! I actually lived in the same room as my grandmother when she was in college (what are the chances of that?!) and lived next door to where my parents and aunts and uncles lived when they were there too. I love all things KU, schedule our days around the KU Basketball and Football games and live a few blocks from campus. Here's to hoping little Adeleinn becomes a 5th generation Jayhawk!! 😉 ❤️💙 4. You may have guessed... but my name is German! And I do speak German (for the most part). I wouldn't say that I am 100% fluent, but I do understand the language when it is spoken to me and can converse in it the majority of the time! Exactly one week ago my baby girl became 4 months old and time is really flying!
