The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue / V. E. Schwab ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I originally started this book last year but was in a massive reading slump and just couldn’t bring myself to get into it. I picked it up so many times, read a couple of pages, and put it back down. I felt like I knew I would enjoy the book, but it just felt a bit slow at the beginning and I didn’t have the energy to push through it. However!! I decided to pick it back up last week and give it another go and omg I’m so happy I did! I felt like it was a bit slow at the start but once it gets into it, it really gets into it and I couldn’t put it down. I absolutely love the feeling of having a book that I’m looking to find any free second I can to pick it up and read a couple of pages, and this book did that. I’m really fussy with my ratings, and save my 5 stars for the books that I know I won’t stop thinking about for a long time, and although I loved this book and would recommend anyone to read it, it was also one that I feel like I can be like ‘ok that was good, I’m glad I read it. La autora lo describe con todo lujo de detalles, lo que permite situarte muy bien en la historia e imaginarte a la perfección lo que está explicando. Una vez leído este libro solo quiero vivir en Velaris. ✨ Aparecen varios personajes nuevos y les he cogido un cariño enorme. Todos tienen personalidades muy distintas que quedan reflejadas en todo momento por sus actos. Me encanta la pequeña familia que han formado. ✨ Los plots twist de este libro... Es que no tengo palabras, simplemente no he visto venir ninguno. La trama da unos giros que han hecho que cierre el libro y asimile lo que estaba leyendo varias veces. Es increíble. ✨ Feyre me ha gustado mucho más en este libro, la evolución de su personaje es enorme. Adquiere más fuerza física y mental, así como mucha más confianza en sí misma. Y hablemos de nuestro querido Rhysand, el alto Lord de la Corte Noche. Su personaje es MARAVILLOSO. Es que no tengo palabras para explicar lo muchísimo que me ha gustado. Me ha encantado como la autora enlaza a la perfección todos los hechos del primer y segundo libro y, poco a poco, te va mostrando el porqué de ciertas acciones de Rhysand. ✨ En definitiva, este libro se merece el hype que tiene. Itt is lenne a kis ‘meet the bookstagrammer/ismerd meg a bookstagrammert’ posztom. Nyilván igyekeztem a megosztott tartalmaimhoz kapcsolódó témákat összegyűjteni, emellett készítettem egy kis ,,érdekességek rólam” részt is. A zenei dolgokat tényleg nem tudnám összegyűjteni, sokáig volt egy k-pop imádat korszakom, de egyébként nagyon sok mindent hallgatok, ABBA például kiskorom óta kedvencem. . I usually include a quote from the book I’m reading at the beginning of my posts; however, in this case, I have left it for the end so readers are warned that it’s a devastating passage. It is quite strange that a novel so harrowing and horrific can be so compelling, but this is one of them. That being said, I now understand why some readers have stated that they had to put the book down at various stages and come back to it at a later time. Some pages are difficult to digest. I’m still going, by the way. I guess by posting this, this is my little break from it too. Anyhow, this an immensely powerful work of literature; impeccably researched and brilliantly written. “Gdye mama?” I asked the girl in Ukrainian. She pointed toward the trench. I caressed her hair. We stayed that way for several minutes. I was dizzy, I wanted to cry. “Come with me,” I said to her in German, “don’t be afraid, come.” I headed for the entrance of the pit; she stayed in place, holding me by the hand, then followed me. I picked her up and held her out to a Waffen-SS: “Be gentle with her,” I said to him stupidly. I felt an insane rage, but didn’t want to take it out on the girl, or on the soldier. Wristlocked by A.K. Blythe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🎪 PREORDER ON AMAZON NOW 🎪 ➡️ for blurb My most anticipated read of 2024 so far did not disappoint. I am still in awe of the fact that this is a debut novel- is is truly incredible. I was intrigued by the setting of a circus college. Its something I know absolutely nothing about, but I was quickly immersed in this world. The use of aerial arts created such beautiful imagery of bodies, both strong and sensual. It also added a dark undercurrent of danger. Our three main characters are all beautifully broken in different ways, haunted by their pasts, presents, and futures. I loved the juxtapositions between each of their families, and the ways they had learned to love and be loved. I also loved reading as they challenged one another to grow, whilst accepting all those pieces of brokenness as a part of their being. Blythe hits on some heavy themes, all handled with sensitivity and care. The narration from each characters' perspective is clever in the way they perceive a victim vs a manipulator; I definitely felt empathy where they often felt disdain, and yet this is managed without the characters becoming unlikeable. We are afforded such insight into each of their psyche, so even when they are destructive we can't lose our love for them. This book is heavy on the spice, but somehow so much is said in every single one of these scenes. Nothing is gratuitous, with every single coupling (and throupling) moving forward the growth of these characters. The scenes are hot AF, but Blythe somehow makes them so much more than that. This was a truly incredible story that I could not put down. I absolutely cannot wait to see all that is to come.

𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙖 𝙙𝙞 𝙪𝙣 𝙧𝙚𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝 𝙚 𝙙𝙞 𝙪𝙣𝙖 𝙛𝙞𝙛𝙤𝙣𝙖 𝙨𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙖 ⠀ Con questa foto che mi ricorda un po’ le mie origini da bookstagrammer, voglio parlarvi di una delle mie serie tv preferite 👀🧇 ⠀ 👉🏻 Dovete sapere che ho seguito Stranger Things quasi di pari passo, facendo un binge watching delle stagioni iniziali ancora prima del covid… ⠀ Quando è uscita la quarta stagione nel 2022 non ho riguardato come mio solito le precedenti ma mi sono buttata sull’ultima senza pensarci. ▶️ È diventata in breve tempo la mia stagione preferita per una serie di fattori tra cui le dinamiche, alcuni nuovi personaggi e la scelta degli attori, e negli anni successivi proprio per questo motivo, ho fatto sempre e solo il rewatch di quest’ultima. ⠀ 🌑 Quando qualche mese fa ho iniziato il rewatch ✨completo✨ della serie con il mio ragazzo che non l’aveva mai vista, è stato un po’ come se non l’avessi mai vista nemmeno io 😂 Certo, mi ricordavo le cose principali, ma i dettagli? ZERO. E le scene ansiogene con il demogorgone nei primi episodi? Panico puro e io che salto sul divano spaventandomi. ⠀ 🖤 Ma devo ammettere che è stato meglio così! Me la sono goduta molto di più e continuo a farlo (siamo a metà della terza stagione adesso) 💃🏻 ⠀ ▶️ E ora non vedo l’ora dell’uscita della quinta 🤭 ⠀ 🧇 Voi avete visto Stranger Things? It's the weekend 🥳 what does everyone have planned? I'm taking my friend on a surprise birthday day out. We're going shopping, to a beautiful restaurant and then to an Escape Room 😂 I'm starting a new Saturday Series today highlighting my favourite authors. What better way to start than with Marian Keyes! I read my first Marian Keyes book when I was 18 (over half my lifetime ago 🤯). I was on holiday with my then boyfriend in Zante, and the book was The Other Side Of The Story. Since then, I've read every single one of Marian's books and own all but 2. Her books are the ultimate comfort read for me. The ones you pick up when you don't know what to read, when you're in a slump, when you're sad, when your brain isn't ready for new characters. Every time she releases a new book, I skip to Tesco to pick it up on release day and treat it like Treasure! Marian never goes on to the TBR shelf to gather dust. No, no! They're impatient queue jumpers that must be read immediately. My Favourite Mistake was always going to be a 5 star read for me, I never had any doubt about it. Marian takes us back to my favourite fictional family, the Walshes, with all their hilarious trials and tribulations. I laughed throughout, I got emotional, I was rooting for the love story. I made a conscious decision to include more non-fiction in my reading and ‘Chip War’ quickly caught my attention. From all sort of calculators we used in our younger days to telephones, and now mobile phones, planes, cars, jet fighters,the ever growing AI and beyond, all rely on semiconductors—it’s the heartbeat of it all. When we hear “chip,” don’t we all just picture a small green slab of plastic with tiny metals embedded on it, or is it just me? Haha! Anyway, I’m thrilled I read this book. It was a real eye-opener for me. It’s definitely not one of those dry tech books;it’s more like an economic thriller, diving into the global battle for semiconductor dominance.Miller unveils the history, players & geopolitical intrigue behind this crucial technology, making it a must-read for understanding the forces shaping our world. He didn’t shy away from the complex economics involved. He explains how chip manufacturing became a globalized industry, with different countries specializing in various stages of production.This creates a fascinating –& sometimes scary – level of interdependence. The book delves into intriguing specifics like: -How Moore’s Law, predicting chip density doubling every two years, turned into a self-fulfilling prophecy. -The battles that raged behind the scenes, from the US vs. USSR race in the Cold War to the current tensions between the US and China - How a single engineer’s rejection sparked the rise of Taiwan’s chip giant TSMC. -Bits and pieces of history about Japan and Korea’s big tech companies like Sony,Samsung and others. -The role of TMSC in the military threats to Taiwan’s continued freedom from Chinese fascism; the effects of semiconductor restrictions on the effectiveness of the Russian military as they invade Ukraine & lots more! I enjoyed the book’s concise chapters, each spanning just 4-10 pages, which made absorbing all the mind-blowing information less overwhelming. Despite being written from a US perspective, it didn’t hinder my understanding as an international reader. It served as a valuable primer to understand the crucial role of the semiconductor industry in modern technology and global power dynamics.
