. At CREACTIVE we aim to promote self sustainability and we want to help communities to thrive and not depend on NGOs and/or government. Our agriculture program is focused on three main areas: - farming skills development - basic business principles - health improvement through nutrition education Since we started the program in February we distributed different seeds such as eggplant, okra, onion, green squash or tomatoes and different farming tools to over 150 families. The training program reached over 70 families who registered to attend and are now developing their own vegetable garden. Over 25 percent of the persons attending this program are widows and this can be a life saving decision for their families. In the next 6 months our goal is to reach more 300 families and help them to secure nutritious food and somehow stray the process to be financially independent. Your support is much needed. Transforming the lives of Nandurbar's Farmer with trellis farming! In remote areas like Akkalkuwa in Nandurbar district, where cash is scarce, our Lakhpati Kisan Project is bringing change. Meet Ramsing Nurya Padavi from Sheltapani village, Akkalkuva block. Ramsing, like many farmers, faced cash crunches for medical needs, education, and daily expenses. But now, with just 0.1 acre of land dedicated to trellis farming, Ramsing's fortunes have changed. Yuva Mitra in collaboration with Shabari Adivasi Vitta va Vikas Mahamandal Maryadit, Nashik embarked on a mission to address this gap by implementing trellis vegetable plantation activities. Our goal was to not only provide a source of income but also promote a healthier diet among the community. The selected farmers, who were in need of support, eagerly participated in this initiative. With trellis farming, Ramsing cultivated veggies like sponge gourd, bitter gourd, bottle gourd, and cucumber. In just one season, he earned ₹140,000, providing financial stability for his family. Silpini has started its journey of fostering the revival of Jammu's traditional art: Calico printing, thereby printing a story of revival and empowerment. The traditional art of Calico printing originated in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.This dates back more than a century to the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. It enjoyed great popularity then but unfortunately it could not be sustained and protected. With the effort of many it has now been classified as a languishing art and there are a lot of government initiatives to revive and preserve it. It's a mammoth task and a large scale involvement is needed. That is where Silpini steps in, determined to rekindle the spark of this artistic heritage. The Calico Printing art form is our pride. Ganrama S, a determined woman, belonging to a marginalized community, recognized the need to support her family financially and was seeking for an additional source of income to support her household and her children's education 📚. Exciting Visit to SHiFT! This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Koen Vervaeke, the Ambassador of Belgium to Lebanon, at the SHiFT center in Tripoli, along with a group from Oxfam. With the support of the Belgian Development Cooperation Ministry of Foreign Affairs Belgium, SHiFT and UTOPIA in partnership with OXFAM #Lebanon have now kicked off a new project “Empowering Vulnerable Communities: A Holistic Approach to Resilience in Tripoli” aiming to improve access to basic services, foster economic opportunities, mitigate protection threats, and strengthen community dialogue and cooperation. The delegation began by learning about SHiFT, its programs, and its inception. For every bottle that finds its way from the Sundarbans to your kitchen shelf there is a family that finds its livelihood through sustainable apiary management, For ages traditional honey collectors living around the forest of the Sundarbans depend on honey collection for their livelihood. They go deep into the mangrove forest in search of wild beehives. Every year during honey collection many people lose their lives to tiger, crocodile, snakes and natural calamity. 24 Praganas (South) Division, Directorate of Forest , West Bengal in collaboration with WWF – India decided to end this constant struggle between tiger and human and looks at sustainable way to collect honey. In pursuit of enhancing the community's household income, micro-enterprises play an important role in providing sustainable livelihoods for the underprivileged. Under the Gram Parivartan Project, 41 micro-enterprises were established in three locations of Uttar Pradesh, including garment shops, fast food outlets, beauty parlors, provision stores, etc. These enterprises have the potential to earn an additional annual income ranging from Rs. 0.95 lakhs to Rs. 1.80 lakhs per household. #GramParivartan #CommunityEmpowerment #livelihood
