This is JIMMY! 🤩 Jimmy started to dabble in CrossFit as we were moving into our new home on Westwood Drive. He and his wife Trisha had recently moved to Humboldt with their young son for work. He needed some convincing at first, but he kept SHOWING UP. A couple weeks later, once he realized how many boxes he was ticking with our programming and community, he was ALL IN! Jimmy has crushed consistent class attendance! He plans classes around his work schedule, family schedule and hockey play-offs 🤣. Consistency doesn’t happen by accident, you need to PLAN. Best of all, he’s fallen in love with the PROCESS and is now actively working through various progressions with our coaches for higher skilled movements and heavier barbells. Double or Nothing is an outcross to over 80% of programs nationwide by having no Hunts Command Respect, JP Rio Grande, and Cowboy Tuff Chex. He is out of the legendary Tejas Star and the 90”+ Jest Dragging Iron cow going back to Drag Iron and Jester. He has a lot of black colored animals in his pedigree and we believe his tip to tip will really start catching up to his large frame. What better way to start off our (early and unexpected) calving season with the first calf out of our upcoming herd sire, Double or Nothing, being this beautiful HEIFER baby. This flashy girl is out of Double or Nothing and Sniper’s Midnight CB. Midnight unfortunately had a still born earlier this year, so we are ecstatic to see her bounce back and produce such a colorful healthy calf. We cannot wait to see what potential this girl has in the future! Double or Nothing will be collected in the coming months and we cannot wait to see what the rest of his calf crop looks like. He has genetics that will be an outcross for over 80% of herds having no JP Rio Grande or Hunts Command Respect. Harvest is gearing up in our neck of the woods and it comes with some great reminders! The seasons of the year (and LIFE!) will demand more of us at certain times. When life gets busy we need to be patient and kind and lean into our habits and people that raise us up to keep that 🚂 on the tracks! Finding yourself in busier seasons means we make ADJUSTMENTS, not throw everything we worked hard for out the window. It is NOT all or nothing. It’s adjustments and BIG PICTURE. In the grand scheme of the year (and years ahead) it’s important to remember these weeks are temporary and the pendulum will swing back. The closer you can keep that pendulum to the middle without those big swings from one side to the other (work/life balance 🫠) the more successful we will be long term in sticking to our goals and good habits.
