Tuesday this week I headed up the mountains again to chase autumn colour a bit better than the other week, Mount Wilson still has another week or so to go pending weather but it was better than the other week. Decided to head back to this waterfall after all the rain not knowing if the last lot of debris got washed away from the falls this time or added to the usual pile. Thankfully it has floated down stream somewhere else (no doubt covering another waterfall I want to photograph). Unfortunately I missed out on getting the full light rays as I was too busy removing 1 branch from the foreground, but managed to quickly get one photo with it slightly visible.

A Buff-banded Rail, (Gallirallus philippensis) has been running around the Australian Botanic Gardens, Mount Annan for a few months now. A highly knowledgable and humble photographer whose videos really taught me so much. I never knew him and the shock of his passing and the effect it’s having on my was unexpected but in a world where I see both the humble and cocky world of photographers, I’ve always been drawn to the humble and compassionate ones. He was one of them and seemed like a kind person. Such a talent also. I wish his partner and his family the best and hope the healing comes from knowing he lived his life to the fullest and impacted so many people that this ripple effect will continue for a long time. I don’t normally edit and post in one day as I like to take my time but I took time away from the photo to come back to it with fresh eyes. Loved how this turned out from Soldiers Beach shooting with friends. Raised my iso a bit to speed up flow and was so happy with I saw the flow in this shot. My fiancé pointed out how it mimicked the sky which made it even better for me. Hope you all have a great weekend.
