All from CA but different microclimates. This wine is ⬇️ 32% San Luis Obispo County 56% Monterey County 12% Sonoma County Medium bodied with great notes of plum, blackberry, blueberry, espresso, cola, vanilla, and spice I shared this bottle with friends, and everyone enjoyed it. What made the night interesting was that these family members prefer Cabernet Sauvignon but were pleasantly surprised to enjoy this Merlot. They described the wine as enjoyable with red fruit such as raspberry as the predominant aroma and flavor. They experienced aromas of blueberries, chocolate, and coffee. On the palate, I experienced raspberries, soft tannins, balanced alcohol with a lush finish. This savory red wine is 96% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon; and aged in 100% French oak. • This @pahlmeyerwine Merlot delivered blueberries, herbal, and coffee notes. Consisting of 97% Merlot, 2% Malbec, and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine expresses chocolate notes with 85% new French oak aging for 20 months. • @bonterra Merlot surprised me as my favorite of the selection. The striking red hue of this Merlot had aromas of blueberry and plum with subtle notes of graphite, pencil shaving and dried herbs. This month we are celebrating Merlot with our one and only Alberta Annemarie🍷 A brief Muratie Memoir: In 1958 Canitz passed away and left the farm to his daughter, Annemarie (Annemie). She took over the running of the estate and became one of the first female wine farm owners in South Africa. Ben Prins, the “barefoot winemaker”, was the winemaker during this time, though he was a teetotaller.
