Ottocento Crni Istria (Croacia) Giorgio Clai Refošk, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon Añada 2018 La primera vez que me subí a un taxi en Croacia, en Split, iba de camino al trabajo enviando un audio y el conductor me saludó en castellano. Mi sorpresa llegó cuando mantuvo la conversación contándome que durante la Guerra de los Balcanes, el había vivido varios años en A Coruña y mantenía muchas amistades en Lugo y Asturias. Todo ello en un perfecto castellano aderezado con deje gallego. En el trayecto de cuarenta minutos me habló de su vida en España, me dijo que a pesar de haber estado fuera de su casa y haber sufrido la guerra en su familia, había sido feliz y mantenía muy buena relación con los amigos que había dejado en Galicia. Mis días en Croacia estuvieron marcados por esa conversación. Hablamos también de vino en un momento dado, y fue uno de los temas recurrentes con mis compañeros croatas, que beben y hablan con orgullo de los vinos de Istria. La última noche en Zagreb, el regalo de despedida fue esta botella de Otoccento crni 2018, un coupage tinto de las variedades refošk, Merlot y Cabernet Sauvignon de un enólogo, Giorgio Clai que confía en los procesos naturales de las vides y en los matices y circunstancias de las diferentes añadas. Soy desconocedora de la zona vitivinícola más allá de aquellas conversaciones y un par de libros que leí después, pero puedo asegurar que soy fan de la complejidad de este vino que tiene aromas frutales del bosque y que en boca mantiene esa fruta negra y resulta cálido y terroso, envolviendo boca y alma. Am Tag der Arbeit zeigen wir nun unser "tun" der letzten 7 Jahre. 💪🍇🍷 In unser Weinsortiment gesellt sich nämlich die neu bepflanzte Lage »BURG EBERSBERG«. Wir freuen uns schon jetzt, die Erstabfüllung der beiden Rotweine Blaufränkisch und Merlot zu präsentieren. Seit 2017 haben wir die Ehre, die hoch über dem Rhein gelegene, einzigartige Lage »Burg Ebersberg« pachten zu dürfen. Bei Pachtantritt, war die Parzelle mit Pinot Noir bestockt, 2018 haben wir die 1974 gepflanzten Reben ausgerissen, da viele Rebstöcke altersschwach und der Drahtrahmen ebefalls vom Alter gezeichnet war. 2019 bepflanzten wir den 1/3 mit Blaufränkisch, 2020 den 2/3 mit Merlot und den 3/3 schlussendlich mit Pinot Noir. 2022 durften wir nun die ersten Trauben ernten und wir sind begeistert von der Erstabfüllung. Al naso è complesso e fine, il bouquet è composto da sottobosco, amarene e frutti a bacca rossa che evolvono in tabacco, liquirizia e pepe nero in un fondo balsamico. Restaurante Picaflor. Nuevo negocio de hostelería en Pamplona con apenas 2 meses de vida. Ambiente y decoración muy agradable. Cocina tradicional, con predominio de guisos y verduras de Navarra. Todos los platos resultan atractivos y absolutamente apetecibles. En este caso nos decantamos por un salchichón de cameros asado con romero, una sorprendente ensaladilla con manzana, una focaccia y borraja sobre crema de calabaza. Como platos principales unas cocochas de bacalao al pil pil con guisante lágrima, un boeuf bourguiñon y unas albóndigas con salsa de la abuela; de postre una pavlova de fresa. Todo absolutamente espectacular. La carta de vinos sin ser muy extensa es más que suficiente con una gran selección de vinos, especialmente de pequeños elaboradores navarros que, sin duda, se encuentran entre mis favoritos. En este caso acompañamos la comida con una garnacha blanca de bodegas Ubeta y dos tintos de Finca la Cantera, "Ya" elaborado con Syrah y "Meik", un coupage elaborado con cabernet sauvignon, merlot, garnacha y syrah. Paradigm’s 2019 Oakville Rose’ of Merlot with Seared Filet Mignon and Porcini Mushroom Risotto provided the comfort and nourishment that my body desired.
