#chefmickeys appreciation post Back when the @disneyparks dining plan was in full swing, #chefmickeys was a #MustDo for our young family. (Just to be clear, #chefmickeys was a #MustDo when dining plans were on pause. And will be a #MustDo when the dining plan resumes in 2024. Basically any time we go @backtodisneyworld, #chefmickeys is a #MustDo for our group 😃) We always aimed for an early evening reservation. It made for a nice break from @waltdisneyworld Magic Kingdom and allowed us to rest and recharge for a late night return. #chefmickeys was also a great #disneyhack for us - we got to meet/take pics with the #SensationalSix without having to wait on character lines inside the parks. This left more times for rides, attractions and shows. The #chefmickeys buffet is delicious, with a carving station, roasted vegetables and salads options for adults. Chicken nuggets and Mickey-shaped Mac & cheese for are available the kids. (And kids under 3 eat free 💪). The dessert bar is absolutely glorious…can I interest you in a Mickey “ Mousse” Oreo? Our favorite part of the night was when the restaurant blasted thr “Celebrate with Mickey Mouse” song over the speakers. The characters came out and danced with the patrons, which is an awesome thing for a little kid. Everyone got up and danced, swinging their napkins around in the air 😆 #chefmickeys is expensive. Breakfast for adults is $51 and lunch/dinner costs $62. Kids aged 3-9 pay $33 for breakfast and $39 for lunch/dinner. ⌛️The Wait Time Game ⌛️ One of our favorite ways to pass the time on the monorail….in a long queue….or in the car or at the dinner table thousands of miles away from @waltdisneyworld 😝 Rules are pretty simple. The “host” asks the group to guess, @therealpriceisright style, how long the wait time is for each attraction. Guesses must be in increments of 5 (special exception for 13 at Haunted Mansion and Tower of Terror) and once a time is chosen, it’s off the board for good. If you think everyone else is too high, you can guess zero! The closest guess to the actual time on the @disney app (without going over) gets a point. Winner of the round gets first guess for the next attraction. We rotate the hosts for each park so everyone gets a chance to play. First stop after getting off the monorail, scanning our Magic Bands and passing through the hallway (left side always) under Main Street Station…the popcorn stand near City Hall. There are few things in life better than strolling down Main Street USA snacking on fresh hot @disneyparks popcorn. Would recommend getting the $13 refillable bucket, which gives you the option of refilling at any park for $2.
