Saxifraga stolonifera 'Maroon Beauty' is a plant I'm very glad hitched a ride in the other plants I took with me from the old garden. It's not that hard to find, but I'd hate to be without it all the same. The dark markings can cover the entire leaf surface except the silver veins, but I especially like when it's just patches like this. The wild #mockstrawberry plants in my yard are very happy and blooming like crazy. I still think the fruits are pretty bland compared with actual strawberries, so I decided to leave these outside for birds. But I put them in another part of my yard so maybe more will grow lol. I’ve been lovingly caring for this strawberry plant since last summer! Bought some bulbs at Costco and eagerly planted all of them! Sadly, despite my best efforts, they all died 😭 …then this one miraculously came back to life! I was overjoyed! I brought it inside for the winter, and despite being eaten down to almost nothing by cats multiple times, I kept on loving it, and it kept on fighting 👏🏻 I re-potted it this summer when it was able to get back outside and the transition was rough, but it came back and is finally thriving!! Now, if you’re smarter than me, you’ve probably already come to the realization that took me an embarrassingly long time to reach myself…. I think part of creativity is about being able to think about things differently. Take this dandelion. I could have taken a photograph of the one nearby that still had all of its seeds. That would show the amazing bloom of the dandelion head. To be honest, I might have some but the light was better in this one. And I actually liked the way that the seeds were missing on just this one side facing the light. And I rather thought that the inner part, sorry I'm a bit behind on dandelion anatomy so I don't know the correct term, looked rather like a pale under-ripe strawberry. So then I got to thinking what would it look like if strawberries were crossed with dandelions and you had to blow the seeds away before you could eat the fruit underneath. So now I'm wondering how difficult it would be to produce a fantasy composite image in @photoshop to show that. It's beyond my current skill levels but maybe this might become the project that gets me into advanced composite photography. Where does your mind take you? What skill would you like to learn? The last few times I had my shots, they seemed to cause me pain. So my daddy was too scared to do the most recent one and we went to have the vet do it for us. Also, the itching hasn't gotten worse, but it hasn't gotten any better, and the benadryl has stopped working. At the vet, I was a big girl and didn't cry when they gave me the injection, but I still didn't like it very much at all! The vet says that what's most likely happening is that I'm slightly "overreacting🙄" to the intense itching that the shot so graciously provide. The vet put me back on Apoquel(anti-itch pills💊) and took me off of the benadryl while we do the remainder of the shots. So, really soon, I should get some major relief and stop pulling my hair out! 🤞 #TLDR: Still itching badly and allergy shots too painful. Daddy too scared to give next shot so the vet did the most recent shot and said I'm being a big baby about it. He gave me anti-itch meds to help with the discomfort.
