She was ahead of her time in so many ways and it’s so heartbreaking that the world just wasn’t ready for her. She loved being a mother and exploring her spirituality. The book ends on a positive note, where Sinead wanted to train up as a Health Care Assistant and start a new stage of her life, by giving back. Unfortunately a year after this book was published Sinead’s beloved son Shane died, leaving her devastated, where she vowed to never perform again. Sinéad O'Connor recorded a version for her second studio album, I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got, released in 1990. Nothing Compares 2 U was released as a second single from the album and became a worldwide hit. The first no.1 world single at the first billboard music awards. In 1993, Prince released a live version of the song, with Rosie Gaines on guest vocals, on his compilation album The Hits/The B-Sides. 8 years ago today, one of the world's most prolific amazing talents passed away -- Prince ... so my #superfriendssunday decided to honor him & all he's meant to us. I chose 2 x 7" that i have literally played to death over the years. I'd bet that once i pulled my 7" box out (which inevitably happens at every gig known to man. It's the secret stash to every DJs live kit)...one one these 2 prince 7"s is getting played. Kiss 💋 can be a party stomper or used as a lifeline. You can manage the crowd really well with this track. Everyone loves it & i usually scratch it over something obscure & drop the track the second it looks like they either recognize it or there's a lull in the crowd. This track probably wins for most audible screams of joy than any live track I've dropped. Pop Life 🎉 probably wins the most coats thrown to rush back to the dance floor. The late night jam that keeps on giving. This tracks sweet spot is at the end of a great party where the hour is late & it drops tapping into folks' energy reserves. Around the World in a Day is my favorite Prince album. I'm glad this track resonates so deeply. We've heard all the stories from pancakes to ping pong...i love that Prince was such an eccentric free spirit, & was so giving with his music 🎶 . He is sorely missed.
