Goodbye April, you brought with you some wonderful blooms 🥹 who is looking forward to what May brings? 💐 here’s a little run down of some best bits from my April garden: 1) tulips from @therosepressgarden 😍 look at the size of them! 🌷 2) I only got a small amount of blossom on the apple tree this year, but it was still a welcomed sight! 🌸 3) Parrot tulips are just wonderful things! 🦜 4) The hawthorn at the back of my house is beginning to bloom and I just absolutely love it! And the scent on an evening is just gorgeous! 5) Very proud of how my Orlaya is looking 😁 I couldn’t get it to germinate at all last year, so I’m so happy with these! 6) The tulips began turning tropical towards the end of April! 😍 7) How gorgeous is ‘whispering dream’ 🥹 8&9) Had a trip to @harrogateflowershow and came home with these amazing lilies from @hartsnursery 😍 I have never had so many flowers in all my life 😅 such an amazing end to the month! 10) Daffodils are still going! This painting is finished and ready to be exhibited at my group Spring Art Show in May in Welwyn Garden City. It's got a lovely softness to it from the blush pink flowers and the atmospheric background. With the up-close and larger scale flowers though, it has a great energy and pulls you in to explore. I hope you find it as relaxing and uplifting as I do! The flower type may not be immediately obvious but they were inspired by a fabulously bright photo of tulips (bet you didn't guess that!) which were coming to the end of their life and falling open. I'll put the inspiration photo in my stories - you'll see there's a loose resemblance! I definitely used my artistic licence to the full on this one, switching up the colours and adding lots of imaginary flowers! Wypadałoby dorobić do niego jakieś inne naczynie, bo w połączeniu z tą miseczka o skośnym dnie, to trochę prowizorka;) A w kenzanie tulipan papuzi Negrita, obłędny kolor, wielki kwiat i super trwałość. W wodzie stał 9 dni, a w ogródku kwitnie już od 2 tygodni. The first day of the @kathleenclemonsphotography workshop at #longwoodgardens, we arrived over an hour before opening to capture these glorious #yellowparrottulips that were right outside the Visitor's center. I didn't photograph them because I was busy with other things, figuring I'd just come back tomorrow early and get them because the light would be better, I'd have more time, etc. The next day, we got there at 9am and to our complete surprise, the tulips were pulled out and thrown in the bed of a truck. We scrambled to get a few and tried to photograph them but the ones we picked were not as glorious as the ones in the beds the previous day.
