A trip to the Pasha Farms was scheduled on Tuesday, 7th February 2023to carry out the International day of Food Security and Zero Hunger as an off-campus learning experience. To encourage Interdisciplinary knowledge in students, a trip to the Pasha Farm was aimed at providing a learning space to explore the Global issue (Food security) and possible solutions to overcome the challenges. Furthermore, this trip was aimed to promote collaborative teaching through the lens of English, Science, PHE and Design. PSA: rescuing animals is extremely tricky work. There are factors you can't account for and you never know for what reason the animal in question is out of their home, away from their own kind. For example, it could be carrying a disease for which reason it could've been exiled, and consequently it could be harmful to capture and release back, as it could be putting the others in danger. That being said, the human desire to help is commendable and should never be discouraged. Just remember, when in doubt, speak to someone who's work is conservation. - A few weeks ago, while walking back to the house from the big field, I heard a whole load of bird based commotion. The crows and maynas were going berserk. On following the noise, I saw a barn owl perched on a log at ground level. Being a big owl lover, I tried my best to ask someone to bring my camera from the house, while trying to make sure I kept my eye on it. It took not more than two seconds of me looking away for the owl, crows and maynas to take off quick enough that I couldn't have followed them if I tried. Feeling disappointed that I didn't manage to get a proper picture, I returned to the house only to be greeted by our animal connoisseur Waheeda, with this owl in his hand. We recently had the students of @bss.pechskg1 visit the farm on a field trip. While here, they learned from @tofiqpashamooraj about the importance of plants & trees, were shown the yummy veggies we grow and even got to plant their own spinach to take home.
