I just realized that I kind of stopped posting about my savings apps. Here’s my accountability post. I would love to do a monthly total of how much I’ve earned from apps each month. With a Disney trip this summer I am trying to really earn. I’m also a mom that works two jobs so I don’t always have lots of free time. Swagbucks is my main earner. Most of my other apps are slower earners and take longer to cash out. Mainly because they are receipt scanning apps and I refuse to buy something for a rebate unless it is something we need, will use, something I’ve been trying to justify buying or ends up being feee after rebate. In December I earned a total of $150. That broke down to $130 from swagbucks and $20 from Ibotta. I’m proud of this as my second job is in retail and I have even less free time than normal. (Side note that Nov was just as crazy and I only did $55- $30 from swagbucks and $25 from Receipt Hog) January I ended up making $137.08. It breaks down to $120 from swagbucks, $8.54 from upside and $8.54 from Brandclub. It may not seem like a lot but it adds up. If you use the travel portal heavily with a Preferred card, you are wasting a ton of points. Buying more than one Disney ticket through the travel portal would meet my qualifications of “heavy” travel portal usage. It’s been a few days since we’ve been home since our trip and wanted to post a recap! We went October 29th through November 3rd which meant we got to experience both Halloween and Christmas decorations. During the week, there were two Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween parties at Magic Kingom. This meant Magic Kingdom was practically empty. Everything was little to no wait. No one wanted to use a park ticket on a day the park closed early. We have annual passes so we were easily able to park hop if we wanted but park closing time was 6 and honestly, we were just about ready for bed that time anyway. Jared Leigeb has now said, we will look to plan upcoming trips during party weeks just to enjoy Magic Kingdom with no people! Jackson rode his first rollercoaster this trip and tried so many new rides! It was a highlight of our trip! We got to experience the new Moana attraction, Journey of Water! It was fabulous! I’ll post more on that soon! We packed in as much as we could and the weather was perfect! Both Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom have holiday parties over the next two months. Psst - did you know how easy it is to get groceries delivered to your Disney resort? You can fly to Disney, stay in a Disney World resort and have so many things at your fingertips. Each resort serves breakfast/lunch/dinner, has grab and go options and snacks. In fact, the Dining Plan is even back and a great way to get an all inclusive feel to your vacation. However, you may be looking to save a few bucks OR ensure that your kiddo has a certain snack that they like. I was pleasantly surprised to see just how easy it was to get groceries delivered to our Disney resort! All you have to do is order groceries through Instacart, Walmart or Amazon Fresh (Instacart is my personal fave) and note that you’d like your groceries dropped off with Bell Services. When your order arrives you can go to Bell Services OR even have them bring it to your resort room for a small fee. We always make sure to tip also. It couldn’t get ANY easier. We ordered deli meat for lunches, snacks, breakfast items for the room and cases of water. This was a lifesaver in the parks each day! We could stash bottled water instead of buying it each time. Our most recent September trip, I actually ordered our sunscreen, my son’s soap and other toiletries so it would be there when we arrive. Extra tip: If you have an Instacart account, you can save your credits to apply to your trip order. One less thing you have to budget for when the time comes!
