Hey friends! Just a quick intro post happening as I have some new followers ! I am trying to lose weight so this is mainly a weight loss account, but I also post about live cooking my dogs and things like thrifting ! I am a : šŸ™ thyroid cancer survivor šŸ™ have chronic kidney disease šŸ™ have diagnosed OCD šŸ™ am a pulmonary embolism survivor Iā€™m blessed and grateful Iā€™m here With that being said , I try to be positive but due to struggles with mental health Iā€™m not always! I do take accountability for when I get ā€œoffā€ When I post about OCD , in a making fun of myself way , Iā€™m not trying to take away how hard it is to live with ! I just think me making fun of MYSELF not others , reduces stigma So when I post about cleaning habits , or joking about my mental health. Itā€™s meant to be silly because now that Iā€™m in my 30s I can own it Letā€™s follow each other #weightloss #weightlosshelpneeded #weightlossjourney #fitnessmotivation #fitness #ocd #ocdawareness #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #healthylifestyle #nutrition #thyroidcancersurvivor #kindeyfighter #ckd #30s

Despite waking up late at 5am and missing my 4am alarm, I still made it to the gym by 5:40 am and had an intense workout focusing on my back and arms. I was able to push myself and achieve my fitness goals for the day, but unfortunately, I didnā€™t have time to include cardio in my workout due to my late start. #iam1stphorm #healthandfitnessjourney #fitnessjourney #over50andfabulous #kidneydonor #greatwomen #glutenfree #shredded #thyroidcancersurvivor #bodybuilding

Thyroid problems, such as hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), are more common in women than in men. There are several reasons for this: 1.Hormonal factors: Women experience more hormonal fluctuations throughout their lives compared to men. Hormonal changes during puberty, pregnancy, and menopause can affect thyroid function. 2.Autoimmune diseases: Many thyroid disorders are autoimmune in nature, meaning the body's immune system mistakenly attacks the thyroid gland. Conditions like Hashimoto's thyroiditis (which causes hypothyroidism) and Graves' disease (which causes hyperthyroidism) are more prevalent in women. 3.Genetic predisposition: Some thyroid disorders, particularly autoimmune ones, tend to run in families. If a woman has a family history of thyroid problems, she may be at a higher risk of developing one herself. 4.Estrogen levels: Estrogen, a hormone predominant in women, can influence thyroid hormone levels. Fluctuations in estrogen levels during the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and menopause can impact thyroid function. 5.Nutritional factors: Certain nutrient deficiencies, such as iodine and selenium, can affect thyroid health. Women may be more prone to these deficiencies due to factors like dieting, pregnancy, or breastfeeding. 6.Stress: Chronic stress can impact the function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis, which regulates thyroid hormone production. Women may experience higher levels of stress due to various social, economic, and familial factors. ā€¢ ā€¢ ā€¢ ā€¢ ā€¢ #fmhealthcaresolutions #DrfalguniMajitihia #thyroidhealing #thyroidhealth #thyroiddisease #thyroidwarrior #thyroidweightloss #thyroidawareness #thyroidectomy #thyroidcancersurvivor #thyroidsupport #thyroidissues #thyroiddiet #thyroidawarenessmonth #thyroide #hyperthyroid #thyroideyedisease

ECIO 2024šŸŽ—ļø It was an absolute privilege to be invited to speak at the European Conference of Interventional Oncology congress that has been held this past week in Palma de Mallorca!! šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡ø I cannot thank enough Bex from @younglivesvscancer for suggesting myself to Dr. Alex Barnacle after she reached out to the charity to ask for young patient advocates to be involved in the session. A huge thank you to Alex herself for being so wonderful in regard to this whole experience and listening genuinely to what we had to share. Itā€™s professionals like that that really are making a difference to patients! Raising awareness has always been my goal from the start, and so with this opportunity, Iā€™m so grateful to have been able to share what has positively impacted my care or what could have been approached better to many of the healthcare professionals that came to listen to our discussion session of ā€˜Paediatrics: A Practical Approachā€™. The response and feedback afterwards was so encouraging to hear that professionals really valued what we had to say and that more patients need to be included at these meetingsā€¦ to hear our first hand experiences is the perspective thatā€™s needed in order to move forward and progress with patient care (particularly in children and young people). It was also extremely encouraging to see the treatment and imaging equipment/tools first hand! The progression in modern medicine and these treatments from interventional radiology are unbelievable. It really does fill me with hope moving forwards that less invasive treatments will impact so many more lives and reduce the risks of living with long term late effects šŸ™šŸ» #lifewiththeribbon #remission #lifewiththeribbon #cancerremission #headandneckcancer #headandnecksurgery #squamouscellcarcinoma #necksurgery #neckdissection #thyroidcancer #cancerawareness #headandneckcancerawareness #cancersurvivor #cancerwarrior #ecio #cirse #surgeryrecovery #ecio2024 #squamouscell #rare #myrarestory #interventionalradiology #thyroidcancersurvivor #papillarythyroidcancer #remission #headandneckcancer #headandneckcancerawarenessmonth

The thyroid is a small gland located in the neck, just below the Adam's apple. It plays a crucial role in regulating various metabolic processes in the body by producing hormones, primarily thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). These hormones are responsible for controlling metabolism, growth, and development. ā€¢ ā€¢ ā€¢ ā€¢ ā€¢ #fmhealthcaresolutions #DrfalguniMajitihia #thyroidhealing #thyroidhealth #thyroiddisease #thyroidwarrior #thyroidweightloss #thyroidawareness #thyroidectomy #thyroidcancersurvivor #thyroidsupport #thyroidissues #thyroiddiet #thyroidawarenessmonth #thyroide #hyperthyroid #thyroideyedisease

Am I repeating myself yet? Conditions and syndromes are the end outcome of internal imbalances and dysfunction. Letā€™s take thyroid as an example. We know that lipopolysaccharides (endotoxin produced by negative gram bacteria and some parasites) impacts our regulation of T3. We know that within our gut we convert a substantial amount of our T4 to T3 (around 20%), and we also know that these gut infections have been documented to cause an increase in thyroid antibodies and the development of thyroid autoimmunity in some people. Not everyoneā€™s thyroid problem is caused by their gut, but some peopleā€™s is. And unless we start looking at the whole picture (including our gastrointestinal health), we will miss so many healing opportunities. If you have a thyroid problem and the conversation with your practitioner is only around thyroid labs and thyroid medications, I encourage you to go elsewhere and DIG DEEPER. Run full bloods, assess for digestive symptoms, assess chronic stress symptoms, audit your lifestyle and diet, and take your health back šŸ’Ŗ Cre: @coach_jakedoleschal #thyroidfood #thyroideyedisease #thyroidcancerawareness #thyroidawarenessmonth #thyroidlife #thyroidsurgery #thyroidwarrior #thyroidectomy #thyroidcancersurvivor #thyroidsupport #thyroidissues #thyroiditis #thyroidweightloss #thyroiddisease #thyroidawareness #thyroid #thyroidhealing #thyroidproblems #thyroidcancer #thyroidheal

Legs was on the schedule for this mornings workout, with 30 minutes steady state cardio on the treadmill incline of 9 speed of 2.5, I deygot my sweat on, my legs felt drained and shaky by the end of my workout. Throughout the building phase I expect to be a little sore in the beginning. I had a rejuvenating nightā€™s sleep, which might be attributed to hunger and the decision to consume an extra serving of chicken and some fruit chews. Although my macronutrient intake exceeded my goals, it seemed to enhance my workout this morning. Looks like my weight is maintaining at 128 pounds. My stage weight was 125 at 22% body fat. Throughout my building phase I would like to see a gain of 10 pounds in muscle and 10 pounds of fat lost, Iā€™m not sure what that will calculate in my body fat % in 3 months I will take another Fit 3D body scan at Lavana Connection LLC #iam1stphorm #healthandfitnessjourney #fitnessjourney #bodybuilder #over50andfabulous #kidneydonor #glutenfree #thyroidcancer #celiacdisease #thyroidcancersurvivor #shredded

šŸ§” Because of the effects on salivary glands and a usual decrease in saliva, we need to be EXTRA on top of preventive care to avoid damage to your teeth. You have enough to deal with after a cancer diagnosis, so we try to be proactive so that your teeth donā€™t add more stress for you. Here are some things to ask about/try: šŸ©µ Swish with water or chew on xylitol gum after coffee and meals to help neutralize and cleanse your teeth šŸ©µ Have your provider make custom fitted trays you can wear daily or to sleep with treatments or toothpaste in them to protect your enamel šŸ©µ Try some of the over the counter dry mouth options - we like xylimelts and xylitol lozenges among others šŸ©µ Stick to simple toothpastes and avoid SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) as an ingredient - this can be extra irritating to dry gums šŸ©µ If you need any teeth extracted, there may be additional things we do to protect you and help you heal well. ALWAYS keep your medical and dental providers updated on your cancer therapies so that we can best serve you. We will be happy to make you complimentary protective trays if you are a patient that has been through radiation- let us take this off of your plate. Testimony & transparency moment: don't give up trust me a lot of us look picture perfect but behind closed doors it's something totally different... Transparency moment: 2013 I was sick near death due to thyroid cancer doctors didn't know what was wrong with me til November of 2013 I stayed in & out of the hospital I could have changed my forwarding address to theirs. My health went down I was malnutritious, 83 pds of fluid on my body from edema my skin was horrible in the words of my endocrinologist I looked like death on a stick. My thyroid was so huge it crushed my esophagus, my doctor told my mom she didn't know how I was talking walking eating or breathing. After surgery I asked the same doctor how many stitches were inside & out of my throat she said she couldn't answer because it was like sewing jelly. Most people take pride in their beauty but me my pride was my TEETH I had the most beautiful teeth you ever saw. I brushed 3 times a day I flossed after every meal. 2013 came along they didn't know what was wrong with me so my vitamin d levels became non existent my teeth literally started to crumble. The ones that didn't crumble ached so bad I've had to have them pulled out. At first I used to cry in the shower so my daughter wouldn't see me, I quit talking & I'm a motor mouth šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ I pray daily asking God to fix my smile but God said to me I'm using you not your smile Jennifer. Your light is shining with a beautiful smile or without it. Couple years ago I went bought a grill that slips in & out šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ I've gotten so use to only wearing it only when I'm out sometimes I forget I don't have it in until I get back home to remove itšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. I said all that to say God saved a wretch like me been cancer free for 10 almost 11 years & people see the God in me instead of the pretty girl with the messed up teeth. šŸŒ¹ we are all fighting battles it's how you deal with them that matter. I gave it to the Lord & I know He will work it out in due timešŸ˜˜šŸ˜˜šŸ˜˜šŸ˜˜šŸ˜˜ #thyroidcancersurvivor #dudewheresmythyroid #cancerfree #jennifervsjenny #dentalhelp #probonodental #probonodentist

Food prepping is a crucial step towards a successful and productive day. Take a moment to reflect on your current spending habits and consider this: how often do you find yourself going out to lunch, spending around $25.00 on a meal, plus a generous tip, and perhaps a morning bougie coffee from your favorite local coffee shop that adds up to $125 a week? That's a significant amount of money considering you can prepare 7 days' worth of food for approximately $75, which equates to 5 to 6 meals per day. By opting for food prepping, you can save money, time, and ensure that you are consuming healthy and nutritious meals. Itā€™s a very busy time of year in schools across the world, particularly for academics, which I head up. A few of my non negotiables have gone out of the window and my last set of monthly tests had one of the markers needing to be unpicked a bit more. Itā€™ll be fine but itā€™s not ideal and always a flashback to the 12th January and hearing that I had the C bomb. Now that was a crap day! I had a super weekend away in Hong Kong and spent time unpicking what I need to do. Got home and did all meal prep for the week ahead, blocked off training in my calendar (busy week but aiming to get to the gym a couple of times at least!) and ensuring I close the laptop lid of an evening and switch off. Itā€™s hard when I love my job and the healthy stress of this time of year! šŸ¤£ Photo this morning - look no different to when I was a deputy head in London from the outsideā€¦but the inside has a new engine and I need to be mindful of this. #thyroidcancersurvivor #thyroidawareness #headshipcalling

Now that I've completed my 2024 bodybuilding season, I'm excited to shift my focus to my 2025 building season. This morning, I stepped on the scale and saw that I weighed 125.9 pounds. After taking a week off to rest and recover, I feel rejuvenated and ready to tackle my next fitness goals. My plan is to train six days a week and incorporate 30 minutes of steady-state cardio into my routine. I'll keep Saturday as my designated rest day, but I may switch it up and take Sundays off instead, depending on my schedule. Currently, I'm following a reverse diet and gradually increasing my macronutrient intake to support muscle growth. #healthandfitnessjourney #fitnessjourney #over50andfabulous #kidneydonor #glutenfree #thyroidcancer #thyroidcancersurvivor #celiacdisease #iam1stphormathletesearch #iam1stphorm

She was walking through the Womenā€™s Expo I was at and had a bandage cover her surgical site. She stopped at my table, listened to why the Meliny Wrap was different than a standard neck warmer/gaiter. What makes the Meliny Wrap different is, it WRAPS around your neck and connects with a hook and loop fastener. It is convenient to wear, sewn by me, available in different fabrics for different needs, assorted colors and sizes. Life is a journey. Such a cliche saying, but oh so true. And a part of that journey for me is towards finding health. Having cancer makes me want to stay away from sugar. Having a history of being insulin resistant makes me want to stay away from anything that turns into sugar in my body. Having no gallbladder makes me want to stay away from high fat content. So how the heck do you eat if youā€™re staying away from sugar, grains, dairy, legumes, and high fat? Enter Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD). I am trying it out to see how my body responds. But eating such a way makes it difficult for busy lives like we have. So I am beyond thankful for artists like @daniellewalker who have masterpiece cookbooks filled with yummy meals. It feels as thought Iā€™m not missing out in anything. Today, I prepped all the chicken crock pot recipes she has, and tomorrow Iā€™ll work on beef. I want my freezer ti be stocked and ready to go for the days I need to grab something, throw it in a crock pot, and know dinner is served with healthy foods that wonā€™t hurt my body further, that will help my family with their health too, and are really yummy. What do you do to meal plan for a big family? #scd #scddiet #nsng #nosugarnograins #foodbethymedicine #healing #cancer #cancersurvivor #thyroidcancer #thyroidcancersurvivor #nothyroid #nogallbladder

It has been a while since you all saw my face, and since I've felt somewhat myself. At first, I didn't want to, but I am because I want to keep advocating for those who suffer the same way. Not only for cancer survivors. For life after which is totally life changing especially this time around. Most of all, for all those auto immune diseases we carry silently. I have suffered since I was 14. However, too long of a story to tell. This time, I want to take time to tell you to be your own voice. You know our body. If one doctor dismisses, try another one. Trust me, there are wonderful doctors and nurses that listen to you, and that alone is a win. I had several surgeries in the last 7 months. Developed lymphedema due to nerve damage from a lumpectomy done, and I'll never again be the same. My body won't be 100% again, and I'm ok with that because I'm alive. I'm alive. Let it sink in. God has a purpose, and it's why we're here. I have made some good friends along the way, who are family friends now. It's shown me how easy life can change and take things for granted. Something so simple as taking a shower or cooking or being able to pick up my son, which I couldn't do for 7 months. I'm slowly getting there. The pain. The struggle to make it day by day, that's the tough part. Those who look at you weird. One day, you're walking fine another day you're limping. It's too hard to explain to anyone, but I encourage you to be kind. I just came to say that I didn't expect to receive 40 with so much ache and pain and such a life altering event. But I am grateful. I am extremely grateful for all the prayers. For the friends and family who have kept in touch and messaged me. For little things like sending groceries or food while I was helping. For doing playmates with my son or watching him during surgery. That little boy has watched so much from his mom. I hope he knows how strong he makes me one day. His love, his hugs, his little words saying, "You're beautiful"when I knew I wasn't. Life is beautiful, cherish it. Tomorrow I'll be 40 and I am happy to say I feel it lol!! #life #alive #grateful #onedayatatime

What news! Please show your love and send your prayers I am speechless .I am now a ā€œCancer Survivorā€ writing this brings tears to my eyes and so many emotions running through my body. It has been a long journey and a scary journey at that, but one that brought to believe in myself like I never did before. It made me find strength when I didnā€™t have any, it make me appreciate lifeā€™s little moments and made me love deeper! I Learned to let go of things I canā€™t control. But just because I canā€™t control what life throws at me, doesnā€™t mean I canā€™t control how I handle it. Cancer made me value motherhood more than Iā€™d ever have imagined. I could go on and on, but I just wanted to share that you can over come lifeā€™s ugly curves! Thank you to everyone who was there in this journey with me, praying and cheering me on! You were a huge part of it as well!. Since then, it's been quickly growing along, which makes me so happy! This is an amazing community. I was diagnosed with #papillarythyroidcancer at just 12 years old, and since then have had a TT as well as another surgery, two rounds of PEI, and multiple rounds of RAI. Via @warriorsofgold This is sweet Lanaiyah and she's a 5 year old cancer warrior. Lanaiyah was diagnosed with stage 4 Nephroblastoma (Wilms Tumor), a type of kidney cancer, on November 9th, 2020 One year prior to her cancer diagnosis, this sweet girl was also diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. T1 diabetes was already hard on her and her family and it's a lifelong illness that cannot be cured. Lanaiyah had finished radiation therapy and is halfway through her chemotherapy treatments. She's had several complications because of her diabetes and had had a bout of cdif. Regardless, Lanaiyah is a very bright little girl and so full of personality! Ever felt like youā€™re doing everything right for your health, but still feel off balance? šŸ˜© Iā€™ve been there. It seemed like no matter how much progress I made, my body wasnā€™t quite on board. But everything shifted when I started using a product that turned the tide for my gut health and reduced inflammation, which even improved my hair, skin, and nails. If youā€™re struggling with similar issues and nothing has worked so far, Iā€™ve got something to share. I even found a way to not pay for my monthly supplyā€”ask me how. If youā€™re looking to make a change and want to hear more about my experience, just drop a ā€˜Tell me moreā€™ in the comments, and Iā€™ll share whatā€™s been changing the health game for me. #guthealthchangeseverything #thyroidcancersurvivor #inflammationfighter

Via a_vr88 I'm tired as all hell. The pain is even more intense then I thought it would be but the drain is out and dressings are on They have found a few issues with my heart as I have a VSD so they need to do things like, echo, ecg, chest X - ray and many more tests. The pain meds they have given me don't help with the pain they just make me sick and go lala, makes for an interesting conversation however - when I can actually speak. I saw my munchkins briefly, youngest was a little terrified and that broke me a little. All in all im super slowly getting there, just taking longer then I adumbrate. #thyroidcare #thyroidcancerawarenessmonth #thyroiddiseaseawareness #thyroidchange #thyroidfood #thyroideyedisease #thyroidcancerawareness #thyroidawarenessmonth #thyroidlife #thyroidsurgery #thyroidwarrior #thyroidectomy #thyroidcancersurvivor #thyroidsupport #thyroidissues #thyroiditis #thyroidweightloss #thyroiddisease #thyroidawareness #thyroid #thyroidhealing #thyroidproblems

Via @battlingthyroidcancer September is #Thyroid Cancer AwarenessMonth - "Thyroid Cancer is the good cancer" a statement that couldn't be further from the truth. This disease has such long lasting, life changing effects on you that you will never be the same person you were prior to your diagnosis. I cannot stress then importance of checking your neck !! Don't turn a blind eye. Don't be naive and think "things never happen to me" The most important change I want to see is educating people and professionals and make them understand it isn't a good cancer THERE IS NO SUCH THING !! #thyroidfunction #underactivethyroid #thyroidcancersucks #thyroidcare #thyroidcancerawarenessmonth #thyroiddiseaseawareness #thyroidchange #thyroidfood #thyroideyedisease #thyroidcancerawareness #thyroidawarenessmonth #thyroidlife #thyroidsurgery #thyroidwarrior #thyroidectomy #thyroidcancersurvivor #thyroidsupport #thyroidissues #thyroiditis

Via @drautoimmunegirl In honor of THYROID CANCER AAWARENESS MONTH , I thought I would get personal and share my story So last week I was told I had a suspicious nodule ( based on size routine ) that was identified on an ultrasound which required a biopsy . So fast forward 10 days later results came back showing its benign ( thank God ) But that 10 day waiting period didn't go without stress and the reminder that without your health you have nothing Obviously I know we can't control every aspect of health but I truly believe we can control 90% by the lifestyle we choose to follow The incidence of thyroid nodules is quite high and most commonly are benign , and the incidence of cancer is roughly 5 % How many of you have a had a similar health scare or had a thyroidectomy ? I would love to hear your stories . I am so thankful , I don't have to take that next step , but also sympathize with those that do Bįŗ”n Ä‘Ć£ gį»i HĆ“m nay lĆŗc 22:48 drautoimmunegirl In honor of THYROID CANCER AAWARENESS MONTH , I thought I would get personal and share my story So last week I was told I had a suspicious nodule ( based on size routine ) that was identified on an ultrasound which required a biopsy .
