BLUE JASMINE (2013) Se juntan dos grandes actrices que me encantan, Cate Blanchett y Sally Hawkins. No sé por qué la dejé tanto tiempo pendiente de ver. Me ha gustado, aunque sí es cierto que no la considero de mis favoritas y, me resulta curioso que empatizo más con el personaje de Ginger que con Jasmine, porque quizá veo a la primera más consecuente son sus acciones y, aunque por la trama la hacen pasar por una persona con pocas ambiciones, se ve que es una persona que cuando se para a observar se da cuenta de algunas cosas importantes, aunque es una pena que la pinten como he mencionado anteriormente. En cuanto a Jasmine, especialmente al final ya no sabes si estás viendo una película dramática o un thriller, porque sinceramente, no hay por donde coger al personaje, no sé si es porque ha tenido una vida más acomodada o qué, pero me esperaba que fuese un personaje mucho más resolutivo. Aunque supongo que es por ahí donde quería ir el director. Dal 1968 al 2001, Fred Rogers con i suoi modi di fare affabili e il suo abbigliamento casual (cardigan rosso e comode scarpe da ginnastica) ha impartito parole di gentilezza e perle di saggezza ai milioni di bambini che hanno seguito Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, storico programma che ha curato sull'emittente televisiva statale PBS. In un mondo in rapida evoluzione in cui i bambini piccoli sono esposti costantemente a una serie di problemi difficili e spesso fraintesi, Mr Rogers ha trovato il tempo di ascoltare la loro voce, comprendere le loro esigenze e creare dei collegamenti emotivi e umani, guadagnandosi l'appellativo di perfetto vicino di casa per gli americani. Quando si vede assegnato il compito di scrivere un articolo su Rogers, il giornalista investigativo di New York Lloyd Vogel gli si avvicina con cinismo e scetticismo, non credendo che possa essere davvero così buono come sembra. Si ritrova però a essere immediatamente sbalordito da Fred e disarmato dalla sua onestà e dal modo in cui sembra vedere al di là delle apparenze. THE INVITATION è un film della regista Karyn Kusama, di genere thriller psicologico, molto claustrofobico, che sfocia nell'horror. Will, si sente subito a disagio all'interno di quella villa che conosce molto bene, teatro di tanti ricordi, anche quello della tragica morte del figlio avuto con Eden. Ben presto l'uomo percepisce che c'è qualcosa che non va: la sua ex moglie e David, il compagno di lei, si comportano in modo strano mostrando troppa felicità....La donna si è affidata ad una setta che opera in modo piuttosto discutibile. Anche l'arrivo di persone estranee a Will mette sempre più in difficoltà l'uomo. We meet Vivian #ElizabethPaige at her psychiatrist’s #RickZahn office. He’s starting to lower the dosage on the pills she’s taking, something which Viv pushes back on, but does just the same. The relationship is off, as she’s the 1 that declares their time is up in every visit, almost as if their roles were reversed. The #film is presented to us thru Viv, so consequently things must be taken w/ a grain of salt. Still, in the beginning we can’t help but take it at its word, as we don’t know better. She lives in what could politely be called an estate, in a big house, w/ her daughter Bibi #JudithAnnDiMinni. It’s an antagonistic relationship. There are hints to an accident & another dead daughter, possibly drowned in a tub. But what REALLY frightens Viv is her abusive father #LoganHunter, who is mostly seen in the distance or the background. He’s ever present & not there at the same time. One thing we know for sure is that he was abusive to Viv. She also gets visits from her friend & neighbor Nancy #TammyBlanchard, who likes her cocktails too much. But what it shows us is that Viv is mixing her pills w/ alcohol, which is not good. It’s thru Nancy that we discover a truth about Bibi though. Basically, we’re watching a woman slowly go mad. She was damaged as a child & now suffering the consequences of not fixing that sooner. While #Bibi IS a #horrormovie, it’s also a PSA for mental health. I know I have the tendency to put off getting help until it’s too late, which is why I can connect w/ Viv’s dilemma (my sibling & parent are both still alive though). There is a part of me nagging that I’ve already seen this #film, but I also know I haven’t. Made watching a somewhat unique experience. Un día, Eden regresa a la ciudad; se ha vuelto a casar y en ella parece haber cambiado algo, convirtiéndola en una presencia inquietante e irreconocible incluso para Will. 👩🏼💻 Opinión personal: No sé si es una película que ya había visto en su momento pero de ser así la olvidé por completo vaya. Una vez más recuerdo que me gusta mucho la temática de las sectas y por aquí también florece y eso ya para mi ya suma puntitos. La verdad es que es una película muy entretenida en la que creo que con muy poco se saca mucho, se mantiene durante toda ella un ambiente de inquietud e incertidumbre y vas necesitando saber más de las historias de los personajes y de lo que está pasando allí. Cuando la película estalla en ese final me parece una maravilla también y algo que de alguna manera se estaba esperando. Me ha gustado la verdad, no es mi favorita pero creo que hay que verla porque está muy bien ✅ ¿Vosotros ya la habíais visto?
