Lunaria, 16” x 20”, acrylic and aerosol on paper, 2022. From the EXPEDITION SPECTRUM series, this piece was inspired by the Lunaria plant. It is often called the money plant or honesty because the seeds shapes look like silver dollars. I’ve been researching seed forms and this one jumped out at me and asked me to make a painting of it. I’ve always loved the shape and iridescent quality of the seeds. I constructed a roller coaster with the branches and sprinkled confetti in the air to symbolize celebration of both the ups and downs.
