Hi friends- my sweet kitty Riesling is in the animal hospital. Last week I noticed she wasn’t doing well promoting a vet visit. When she wasn’t improving a couple days later, I ended up taking her to the emergency vet, where they hospitalized her. She tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus and her intestines are inflamed. She is still at the animal hospital now. Riesling and I would be grateful for any support, advice, or good vibes you can send her way as we deal with her health and vet bills. I made it to 60. My Mother passed from colon cancer at 59, so I was worried I may not make it to 60. Wanted to celebrate with Family n Friends including our Grandchildren and @pizzeria.sei was a #purrfect setting. I am in my P3 phase of life- Son, Father, now Grandfather, so I thought a #domperignon P3 theme would be appropriate. Our P3 lineup was 85, 90, 92, 93. The bottles were pristine, all directly from LVMH Private. Sequentially oldest to newest was the best. 85 is very special. There's something about P3, Krug is my favorite producer n the 95 Collection I brought was smoking, but P3 is so different from the other phases of Dom, it is hard to describe and I don't know why it's so good 😜. We also had a nice lineup of Bordeaux. 82 #petrus is legendary and lives up to the legend. 90 #chateaulafiterothschild was also stellar. I will post each bottle separately in the future. Every bottle was marvelous 💗 thank you everyone for sharing. Chef William with help from Chef Johnny, former sous chef at Bestia n Bavel prepared an amazing menu for us. Fun wine #finewine Friday. I shared this SQN for Sunday brunch with @spa_phillips @cherieofficial @jesseyofficial @butcherandbooze and @marymanannn I decanted the bottle at 7am as SQN White wines need air. I served it blind as these wines have very unique blends every vintage and are hard to describe due to their uniqueness. Jessey n Aram both tasted Chardonnay which I knew was in the blend but thought only a small amount so I had to look it up while we were tasting. Surprisingly there was 25% Chardonnay. It was still predominantly Rhone varietals but the Chardonnay was showing through in this vintage. I was also surprised when I saw the high scores given to this wine. 98 pts by Wine Advocate n 99 by JD, scroll. These are extremely high for a White wine. I don't really pay much attention to scores anymore as they have gotten so high in the past 15 years. This might not be a 99 pt wine in my book, almost nothing is, but I think this is an excellent wine and deserves a high rating. It is also very rare and in demand. What I enjoy the most from SQN White blends is how it varies every year and you never know what to expect. Happy Friday Everyone 🍷😻
