My mom will be 84 in April. The Acropolis in Athens is 2500 years old. Point is…Never lose your childish enthusiasm and things will come your way. In my mom’s case she never says no to anything. Mom want to go on a 12 day cruise through Europe? Yep. In the Acropolis’s case its kings, gods, various religions that have repurposed it for their needs and, more recently, an about 3 million tourists yearly…oh and cats. Today mom climbed the stairs on the hill to the Parthenon and wandered over 4 miles around Athens eating gyros, pastries and drinking Greek coffee…giggling and musing about how great life is every step of the way. Enjoy it folks. You only get one. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Love deeply. Forgive quickly. Eat well. Laugh often. Take chances. Be grateful. Nice day at Cologne zoo yesterday - I’ve not been to a zoo for over 30 years and not really sure about them but the animals seemed to have quite large spaces and looked in good condition. The flamingoes were an amazing colour- I guess due to their feed . We finished the evening in a fab jazz club where the members of the band were all over 85 years old !
