This equates to more than 10 million abuse victims annually. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been physically abused by an intimate partner, and 1 in 5 women and 1 in 7 men have been severely physically abused by an intimate partner." "99% of victims will also suffer financial abuse. Financial hardships usually cause women to stay in abusive relationships." It's not easy to leave. When you're in one, it's not always easy to notice. It creeps up slowly and by thrtime you realise, you're trapped. Thankfully, I had friends to rely on to get away and get help, but it was also a lot of work, time, money, and phone calls searching for local resources. I barely slept last night as my heart was across the world in Israel. I feel so powerless as I imagine we all do. I lay there trying to use Reiki (Japanese energy healing), Tonglen (Tibetan Buddhist energy healing), and prayers in hopes of sending love and light to all the innocent Israelis and Palestinians who are suffering due to the horrific violence of the terrorrist organization and supposed political power Hamas. This picture is an edited version (new background) from my time on a kibbutz in Northern Israel in 1996. It was one of the happiest times of my life and I absolutely fell in love with Israel and the Israeli people. I am half Jewish as my father is Jewish and I am completely done with any communities, Jewish or not, telling me that I am not Jewish. I would have been killed during the Holocaust and Israel was created to provide a safe place for all Jews to live in a world that surprisingly still contains much antisemitism. My heart is with Israel and the Israeli people. This is not to say that I support everything their government does. My heart also goes out to the Palestinians in Gaza who are over 2 million people who have lived in unacceptable living conditions for the entirety of my 50 years of life. I call to all world powers to do everything they can to prevent any more deaths of civilians, particularly children who are all innocent regardless of which side of a man-made border they were born on.

Menneskehandel, vold i nære relasjoner, hjelpetiltak for voldsutsatte, krisesenterets stemme i likestillingsarbeidet. Likestilling i et kjønnsperspektiv, politiets innsats mot familievold og oppfølging. Have a little sunshine in your heart. In den letzten Wochen hatte ich das Handy so häufig in der Hand, auch um irgendwas Kluges zum Krieg in der Ukraine zu schreiben. Aber, hey- was schreibt man schon Tröstendes zu Krieg. Mir fällt nichts ein. Es ist eine Gewalttat, egal auf welchem Kontinent, es sterben Unschuldige, es sterben Menschen. Wir haben das Glück hier in Deutschland sicher zu sein. Mir ist das Vebrechen nicht egal und ich versuche stabil zu bleiben, mein Mitleid hilft niemanden. Das geht mit viel Zuwendung zu sich selbst. Zu finden, wo ich proaktiv helfen kann, weniger Nachrichten zu konsumieren und für mich zu sorgen. @stelp_supporter_on_site ist ein regionales Beispiel für „grenzenlose“ Hingabe einer Organisation, die versucht vor Ort zu helfen und Hilfsgüter zu organisieren. Vielleicht hast du einen Penny übrig oder nimmst Kontakt auf, was du an Hilfsgütern geben kannst. We are completely horrified by the events that took place yesterday along Forest Road. Utterly disgusted by the shameful act of cowardice. But what happened yesterday in Nairobi is not new to us. Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) is alive and well here in Kenya. As we commend the efforts by the government to bring perpetrators of this heinous crime to book, we should be quick to remember two things. (1). SGBV cuts across both genders, thus the word 'gender' in it. Both male and female, boy or girl, can be the subject to this type of violence. (2). This is not a boda-boda sector issue. This is a human problem... A Kenyan problem. And in the words of Wandia Njoya, "We have become cruel and crude. The screams of pain excite us instead of horrifying us. We derive joy from making others suffer. We have no sense of history or taboo. We have lost all sense of the sacredness of life." Kenyans, we need to do better...
