First day in Iceland! We went straight to Blue Lagoon to relax. We tried their face mask and enjoyed a few drinks. It started snowing while we were there. Lava lines the roads and it was interesting to see section with snow and sections without close together. New lava appeared recently covering the road to the Blue Lagoon, but a new one was built. This pass weekend got to getaway and have some adult time, it was much needed. Looking back at some pics and I’m reminded how much fun we had together. I love that we have a good time together, you truly are the most important person in my life. I’m so blessed that you were made especially for me, we are lucky to get to spend almost our whole lives together, minus birth to 16, lol. I haven’t shared with many but this year hasn’t been easy for my family. I had to decide if I would continue to allow my mom to hurt me and my children emotionally or standup and say enough is enough. I decided it was time to cut ties, I do not know how long but I do know that changes have to be made before this huge boundary comes down. People that see all of stories know that I believe in self happiness before all others. I still struggle daily with not having my mom in my life but I know that right now it’s what’s needed in order for me to be happy. All this to say that I’m so grateful that I have my husband on this journey with me, you truly are my sunshine when I’m in a dark place. Pictures from our Grand Canyon adventure last week 🏞 Our trip alone was so needed and appreciated. We laughed till we cried (well, I did anyway), we enjoyed silence, listening to an entire song in the car without interruption, got to go pee without "where you going?" "What you doing?" I could tell you about the heart pounding freestyle snow mobile races, the rediculous rides down the half pipe or sick landings from big air on Buttermilk Mountain. I could tell you about the date night in we had at the cabin drinking our favorite Pinot Noir and playing endless rounds of the Heads Up game. I could tell you the empowering Yoga practice @jmaeschoepke and I had at O2 Aspen Studio and Spa where the hip hop music was on point and the instructor, Morgan, gave us permission to sweat with swagger and dance out our downward dogs. I could tell you about the ski and snowboard community that gathers in the village around 3:30pm every day to huddle around a fire pit and roast marshmallows for the masterpiece that is Smores! I could tell you about the magical landscape we woke up to every morning, the natural Hot Springs and outdoor hot tubs we reclined and relaxed in while the snow fell. I could tell you that the gift of an experience taking a trip to Colorado was far more valuable and memorable than any material stuff we could have received. I could tell you where we were when we heard the news of Kobe Bryant and how we paused to kiss each other, FaceTime our toddlers and tell our parents how much we appreciate them. I am telling you to take the damn vacation, kiss in public, drink the wine, dance and sing out loud, be like a kid and go down the slide, and tell the important people in your life that they are important to you. Take the vacation. You can always make more money but you can't always make more memories. What's one of your favorite memories or stories from a vacation?

💏First vacation alone together since we got married 6 years ago... we are just going to Charlotte overnight for a concert but I really didn't know if he was going to make it home for this till a few days ago so I am pretty excited! ✌Peace out kids! I love them dearly but I've spent basically everyday of their lives with them, except when I was in the hospital for surgery or having another kid so I needed a break before I had them solo for 6-7 months. 💯Yes this is not a great picture of him but it does show how he can disconnect his jaw like a python to swallow sub sandwiches whole!
