As you all know at Alma, we view every chapter of life as a season. Seasons of the year, of what to wear and what to celebrate. So as I think of this season in my life I think about the growth I have made, and who I am becoming and all of that would not be possible without this wonderful women standing beside me, my mother. We have all been shaped and guided by our mothers or mother figures in our lives. This is my first season as a mother to my little boy Lennon and celebrating my first “Mothers Day”. Beauty has always been her love language as she is deaf and growing up as a child to a deaf parent made me hyper aware of people and the beauty around me. I reference her influence constantly. With that said, the most formative gift she has given me, without a question, is the fact that I have never gone a day without feeling deeply loved. We are having an eighties revival here in the workroom - frills and all! I always encourage my clients to choose a fabric that they love for they are then much more likely to love the curtains forever. It’s certainly true of these curtains. The @swafferfabrics fabric is 40 years old and my wonderful customer still loves them. We’ve taken out the interlining, replaced the lining and they are to have a new life in the summer house, where the grandchildren play.
