In therapy I see women who ache for the baby or babies they have lost, a pain that cannot be put into words. The experience of loss is so profound, a pain that is often felt physically as well as an overwhelm of emotion. Even with women who have friends and family to lean on, the loneliness is often exacerbated in the following ways: 💭 feeling that no one else understands what it means to lose a baby, yet people trying to compare their emotions to something that they might have experienced. Knowing that people mean well yet can often say the most hurtful things. Including saying nothing at all. 💭loss of identity. Loss of the imagined life as a mother, hopes for what the future might look like. Expectations from others that they will return to life,their job, their hobbies pre pregnancy. Who am I and what is my role if I’m not a mother? 💭 seeing friends and colleagues become pregnant, talk about weekends spent with their children. Officers patrolled the area and found no evidence of a shooting at the time. AbbyPD officers determined later in the day that shots had been fired into the basement suite of a residence in the 2500 block of Sugarpine St. Police believe this to be a targeted shooting, and fortunately, no one was injured. Upon attendance, police located a woman in her late-20’s deceased inside the residence. During the initial stages of the investigation, Burns Road was temporarily closed between Dominion Avenue and Prairie Avenue in Port Coquitlam. This is believed to be an isolated incident, not connected any gang-related conflict. There is no risk to the public. Until the circumstances that led to the woman’s death can be confirmed, Coquitlam GIS will continue to lead the investigation while liaising with IHIT, said Media Relations Officer, Corporal Alexa Hodgins. Driver flees crash, two officers injured during arrest North Vancouver RCMP are seeking dash cam and CCTV to advance their investigation of a reported hit and run and alleged subsequent assault on two officers. Witnesses reported seeing a white Dodge Ram pickup strike a tree and the driver fleeing from the scene. As officers arrived at the collision, other officers attended the registered owner’s address in an effort to intercept the driver. While at the residence, officers noted the passenger of an arriving vehicle matched the description of the hit-and-run driver. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the white sedan, but the passenger exited the vehicle, attempted to flee and reportedly resisted arrest. As the passenger continued to resist arrest, another man allegedly exited a nearby residence and tackled an arresting officer. A brief struggle ensued as officers attempted to gain control of the scene, during which two officers were allegedly assaulted and were injured as a result. The driver of the white sedan was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition for refusing to provide a breath sample as officers suspected that he was driving while impaired. The hit-and-run driver faces potential charges in relation to failing to remain at the scene of an accident and resisting arrest. The third man is being investigated for assaulting a police officer and obstruction. Between March 1, 2024 and April 8, 2024 Richmond RCMP has received seven reports involving fraudsters allegedly posing as police and demanding money. The total reported loss is over $ 1.1 million. In three instances no money was sent. All of these investigations involved individuals posing as Chinese police or government officials. These fraudsters can be very convincing. They employ various tactics to trick people including spoofing legitimate phone numbers, or making threats of police action if payment is not made. Ultimately, they have one objective, to get your money, says Sergeant Dave Au, Richmond RCMP Organized Crime Unit. These types of scams continue to surface in our community and unfortunately people continue to fall prey to these fraudsters, says Corporal Adriana O’Malley, Richmond RCMP Media Relations Officer, These frauds can have a devastating financial and emotional impact on the victims which is why we continue to issue these public warnings in the hope of preventing further victimization. Richmond RCMP want to remind the public that if someone claiming to be from a government agency asks for Bitcoin, Google Play or iTunes gift cards as a method of payment hang up immediately and report it to police. There are a number of frauds and scams that utilize similar tactics, including the romance scam which has led to significant financial losses for Richmond residents . Richmond RCMP advise on-going discussion with loved ones about these scams in order to promote greater awareness. Richmond RCMP recommend you regularly check the Canada Anti-Fraud website to learn more about the latest scams and frauds affecting our community. Call 1-800-222-8477 AbbyPD CRU investigating suspected theft of shipping container from rural property in Abbotsford Media: https://www.abbypd.ca/blog/news_releases/abbypd-cru-investigating-suspected-theft-of-shipping-container-from-rural-property-in-abbotsford The AbbyPD Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) is investigating the theft of a 40-foot red shipping container from a rural property in the 6000 block of Lefeuvre Rd, Abbotsford, BC. Investigators believe that the container may have been taken during daytime hours on Monday, April 15, 2024, by unknown suspects. Two flat-deck trucks with folding knuckle-boom cranes are suspected of having been used to remove the shipping container from the property. One truck was described as having a black cab with chrome accents, and the second truck was described as having a red cab and towing a flat-deck trailer. The container owners were not present when the container was removed and had not given permission for it to be removed from the property. AbbyPD CRU believes that the company/companies whose heavy equipment was utilized in moving and transporting the shipping container may have been unaware that the container owners had not consented to their container being moved. Investigators are appealing to the public for any information or dashcam footage that may assist in identifying the company/companies utilized in transporting the container in hopes it may lead to the eventual recovery of the container and its contents to the rightful owners.
