This is my last piece of art in the first section of the one year Mastery Program I am taking. There are four sections. This section was oil painting and drawing. Next is mixed media and finding your voice, which I am REALLY excited about! Our assignment was simply to do a large-scale oil painting. This piece is 24"x36". I love doing the abstract background with realism for the focal point... and really enjoyed painting the bubbles! 🫧 I was drawn to the source photo I based this on due to the lightness and playfulness of it. The last two days have been very good for me. First, I went to a Vision workshop and met some incredible women who were inspiring and encouraging. It’s wonderful to share your heart with others and to just speak goals and desires out loud. Putting it ‘out there’ and finding voice to what may seem impossible, is a beautiful way of marking a moment that you can reflect on later, to see how far you’ve come. I will be practicing this more often, for sure! I also had a play date with two other potters, playing in the snow, pausing and sharing, being inspired by each other. The sunshine came out in more ways than just the physical! With these two days filling my battery, I am ready for a week of glazing, workshops and studio dreaming. A New Technique. Week 2/52. I experiment with a lot of photography techniques, but I’ve never played with the “picture effects” settings in my camera before. I found the “posterize” setting interesting - it took many tries before finding an image I liked.
