We're thrilled to start our project “Vocational Rehabilitation Project for PWDs in Kavre, Nepal Phase-III” with the support from KOICA and Miral Welfare Foundation, Korea. Yesterday (2 May 2024), we celebrated the opening ceremony of our Advance & Basic Sewing (4.5 month) Training at the VOICE Center. It was an absolute honor to have Mrs. Bimala Sapkota, Deputy Mayor of Banepa, as our Chief Guest, alongside Mr. Ram Lal Duwal, Ward President of Banepa 13, Kavre, as the Guest of Honor. The formal program commenced with insightful opening remarks by Mr. Hari Adhikari, our Administration and Operations Director, setting the tone for an inspiring event. The program was further enriched by the remarks of Dr. Raju Dhakal, Medical Director- SIRC and Mrs. Change Pailk, Project Manager- Miral Welfare foundation. It concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from Ms. Esha Thapa, our Executive Director, reflecting on the significance of the occasion and our collective commitment to empowerment. One of the most touching moments of the ceremony was when a trainee from our Advance Sewing Training shared his heartfelt experience of running his own tailor shop and expressed his aspirations to train fellow villagers. His enthusiasm and determination resonated deeply with everyone present, reaffirming the impact of our efforts. Tretja delavnica je bila namenjena digitalnim kompetencam ter njihovi uporabi pri iskanju zaposlitve, prijavi na delovno mesto in zaposlitvenem razgovoru. Govorili smo tudi o prekomerni rabi zaslonov in varnosti na spletu. Obiskali smo Karierno središče Zavoda RS za zaposlovanje, kjer nam je vodja središča predstavila njihove dejavnosti in podala nekaj praktičnih nasvetov glede pisanja življenjepisa ter zaposlitvenega razgovora. Predstavila nam je tudi pripomoček Kam in kako, ki je namenjen raziskovanju, razvoju in izpopolnjevanju lastnih možnosti v karieri. Za njihov čas in prijaznost se jim lepo zahvaljujemo. The third workshop focused on digital competences and their application in job search, job application and job interview. We also talked about excessive screen use and online safety. This summer, Transition Tennessee will once again be hosting three one-day transition summer academies in each of the three grand regions (west, middle, east). The summer academies are free and lunch will be provided. The purpose of these academies is to expand transition practices across the state to improve post-school outcomes for students with disabilities. Only Tennessee professionals are eligible to attend.
