Hi 👋🏻 Just checking in to let you all know that I’m very sleepy 🥱 I started a part time job at a coffee shop & it’s very fun because I get to bake😌🍪☕️ My friend is the manager, & we used to work together at another bakery. She’s been incredibly accommodating to me while I’m still in the throes of my Vocational Rehab case🤓💚 (if you didn’t see my story, I earned a degree in culinary arts before I burned out 👩🏼🍳) That’s going well. Slow, but well. Next step is the Skills Assessment. 📖 I have 2 videos on my TikTok about the steps I’ve done so far, if any of you Americans is interested in using your state’s department of education to gain employment 💼 My goal is to get a sustainable (for me) remote job which meets my accommodations! 💻 I really hope this experience is educational and hopeful to other disabled folks seeking aid with employment. P.R.I.M.E is a program that provides positive reinforcement to our students through a rewards system. P.R.I.M.E. stands for Preparing Responsible Individuals and Marketable Employees. Students who display appropriate work behaviors are able to attend monthly activities that are chosen and planned by students on the PRIME committee. We have had lots of fun activities such as putt putt, jeopardy games, outdoor games, cookouts, scavenger hunts and more.
