123AtoZ vinyl library dive continues with “A Loud Bash Of Teenage Feelings” by Beach Slang. I’m vexed by this band which I was a huge fan of. As the story goes vocalist James Alex was a huge monster to his road manager Charlie Lowe. Literally a monster to this woman. Armed with unchecked mental health issues, he also took it out on his band, which lead to a huge turnover in members as well. Throughout music history there should have been many that should have been canceled and I’m relieved to hear the right voices have been heard. I’m sad about this only because this was the last band that musically, lyrically and emotionally I chimed with. Regardless if the music was sincere or a façade, it made me feel heard, from my woeful teenage years to the feels I have today. They played a ton off their first two LPs at this show, but dug deep and played a bunch of jams from the early 7”s, which is (in my opinion) their best stuff.
