GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL VISIT This week we went to Great Ormond Street Hospital for an outpatient appointment with Margot’s Neurosurgeon. She had her regular MRI of her brain a couple of months ago to check for any new AVMs and we went to discuss the results. Margot was so excited to see Mr Silva, she ran straight up to him and gave him a big cuddle. It’s always a very stressful time of year for us but thankfully he confirmed that the MRI looked good and that there are no new AVMs which is a huge relief. He was so impressed with Margot’s neurological progress, particularly her speech. We explained about Margot’s worsening mobility due to her dystonia and he is going to support us to get the correct level of input, something she hasn’t been receiving. He has even written a letter to our local authority to explain the importance of early intervention for Margot. We’re currently embroiled in a battle with our local authority as they have refused to provide Margot with the provision stated in her EHCP for the last two years and refused to name the school we wanted for September so his support will be very helpful.
