☆Review☆ . Last night's #bristolpitbulls game against The Bees... Phenomenal 🏒🥅⛸️❄️💥. Any further confirmation I'd needed from the previous games was blown right out of the pound last night by a Pitbulls team who were on fire to win!🔥 👏 . . Everything encompassed in the word 'team' was right there in front of us during this incredible game. There was unbelievably fast- paced forward action, superstrong defence and Ben Norton was nothing short of genius in Netminding. The whole entire team were on form without any exception; spectacular goals provided by Dan Bradley (2), Tanner Butler ( #93), Elliot Lewis ( #19) and Mason Lipsey ( #91). . . Even at times when The Bees were playing with as many attempted stings as they could throw out ( sadly, assisted by the refs 😒), The Pitbulls remained strong and composed. Speed and power were provided by Sean Morris as usual ( he sprints on the ice... putting the forward into forwards!), with staunch and sturdy back up from Adam Harding, Neil Liddiard and an equally powerful Bayley Harewood. Surrounding team members were equally phenomenal and held the whole caboodle together. Quite how they all make it look so easy to do when it's such a tough, strenuous sport, I do NOT know! . Tanner Butler & Brennan Feasey provided the structure, back bone and intelligence behind so many of the moves ( their skill with the combo of blades,stick & puck is unbelievable!). . . The final score was 4-2 to The Pitbulls 🧊🏒🥅⛸️🔥💥🏆. It would have been 4-1 had the ref not pulled another Bees score out of his handbag in the last minute 👜💁🏼♀️. . . Myself and 2 of my boys went along for the sheer excitement of the game ( and for me to review for myself this time). Our voices are still hoarse from yelling this morning. The game is addictive, the players- deeply talented. Frightening Franchises: Friday the 13th Thursday: Friday the 13th, Part VI: Jason Lives (1986) 7.5/10: I’ll be honest, idk how I feel about this movie. I enjoyed it, don’t get me wrong. Do I love it? Not sure? Do I hate it? Leaning towards no on that. There was a good story going on with The Final Chapter & A New Beginning and this one kinda diverts from that, to a point. The writers and producers basically said F it, let’s just have fun with this one and I do love that. We are introduced to a significantly less crazy Tommy Jarvis (not my favorite version of the character) and zombie Jason Voorhees. (Probably my favorite version of the character). There is a cheesier quality with this one. I definitely need to give this movie another watch to give my full thoughts. It was strange seeing Jason more this time since before he was about a 3rd act reveal, despite all of us knowing it was him. 7/10. Plus .5 for Zombie Jason. Overall, 7.5/10. Also, didn’t like the music this time around. Sounded like a rip off of The Shining. ~ L'Aube rouge / Red Dawn ~ 🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬 Un remake qui ne vole pas haut ! 🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬 Résumé : La veille, Spokane et sa région se sont retrouvés sans électricité mais à leur réveil, Jed Eckert (Chris Hemsworth) et son frère Matt (Josh Peck) vont vite comprendre qu’il ne s’agit pas d’une simple panne. Avions et parachutistes ont envahi le ciel, la ville devient le théâtre d’une invasion lancée par la Corée du Nord. Les 2 frères parviennent à prendre la fuite en compagnie d’autres potes d’enfance pour se réfugier et essayer de tirer au clair la situation. Très vite Jed, soldat dans l’armée américaine, prend les choses en main et comprend qu’il va devoir entraîner ses compagnons pour organiser la résistance ; les Wolverines sont nés et grâce à eux l’Amérique est en passe d’être libérée ! 🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬 Avis : Il faut l’annoncer directement ; L’aube rouge propose un scénario tout simplement aberrant. La Corée du Nord envahissant les Etats-Unis passe encore mais faire ça dans la petite ville de Spokane et avoir une dizaine d’ados comme résistants c’est tout de suite moins crédible. Une fois qu’on a ça en tête et qu’on se dit qu’il faut considérer le film au 2nd degré, on se laisse plutôt bercer par les successions de scènes d’actions rythmées par les fusillades et explosions ou encore le braquage d’un Subway. August 1 1986 Friday the 13th VI Jason Lives is released. This movie means more to me than most horror films..It was my first introduction to Jason.. I grew up not being allowed to watch horror or R rated films..I had a strict religious mother and she hated that stuff. I had gotten to watch a lot of horror films and lots of R rated ones, but I had never had access to F13 movies, and few, to no, slashers really.. When this came out on Video my sister and her husband rented it and took it my grandparents house to watch with my cousin..I was forbidden..But I hid in a bedroom facing the living room and watched through the blinds of a closet door.. It had the greatest effect on me..I loved Jason so much..he didn't bother kids in the movie and he had an opportunity to wipe out a shit load..but, no, it was the older bastards he wanted to gut..I related.. I went home and got a huge piece of metal and pretended to kill people for the next year..BUt I turned out alright..Horror movies are not bad for children to watch..political conversation is much more damaging.. I was 10 years old when this occured..Later I became obsessed with horror,esp. Slashers and When I see Michael Myers attack Laurie in the closet in Halloween I always think..hey I watched my first masked killer slasher in a closet just like that.. Questo incipit è perfetto per descrivere il lavoro di Dan Bradley, coordinatore degli stunt e regista di seconda unità tra i più famosi del settore. RED DAWN (Dan Bradley, 2012) It’s Independence Day weekend, which demands an Americana film, a summer film, or a patriotic film (or all of the above). I went with Patriotism last night and holy shit this remake is an action packed, jingoistic piece of American shit. But I still dig it for what it was. For the most part. Because terrible movies can also be fun to watch! It’s packed with battles, explosions, tons of gunfire, sentimentalism, and corny patriotic speeches. It’s as ridiculous and right-wing as the original, but though it’s been about 35 years since I saw it, I still remember the original’s characters. In this one, each character is pretty insufferable so it’s hard to really give a shit about them. It’s Thor vs. Kim Jong Un! The best part is that this film was initially about America standing up to the anti-democratic, anti-Capitalist, Communist, Chinese invaders but then the studio realized that might affect their revenue and, in subservience to the Chinese market, changed everything in post-production to make it North Korean invaders. JAMES BOND x JASON BOURNE Una critica sovente al ciclo Craig è che somigli troppo ai film su Jason Bourne, agente segreto americano portato sullo schermo 4 volte da Matt Damon. Il film di 007 tradizionalmente più criticato in tal senso è Quantum of Solace, episodio anomalo all’interno della serie. Effettivamente, l’intenzione esplicita del regista Marc Forster fu da subito quella di creare un film di rottura con i precedenti, che fosse più asciutto e intimo rispetto alla tipica formula bondiana. Per questo fu affiancato da Dan Bradley come regista della seconda unità, noto per ricoprire lo stesso ruolo nella saga di Bourne. D’altra parte Quantum of Solace si configura come un’estensione di Casino Royale proprio come ogni capitolo delle avventure di Bourne, che sembra riaprire i discorsi lasciati in sospeso in precedenza. La violenza, le scene d’azione e l’internazionalità sono altri caratteri che lo avvicinano alla serie con Matt Damon. Quantum mostra un James Bond più fragile, intimo, cupo, silenzioso e spesso anche più anonimo del solito. Questa formula lo rende un agente segreto credibile, proprio come Jason Bourne. Tuttavia 007 viene così sottratto dello charme e del glamour che solitamente lo contraddistinguono. Proprio l’assenza del tipico humor e di altre caratteristiche storiche di 007 rendono Quantum uno dei film più controversi e generalmente meno apprezzati dai fan. 09/19: The first slasher in this year’s marathon is also my favorite in the Friday the 13th series. Part VI re-introduces Jason Voorhees after the imposter in Part V, then took the series in a new direction with the addition of metahumor and action elements. This is also the movie that made Jason the unstoppable, super zombie by pulling a Frankenstein’s Monster-esque resurrection after his death in Part IV. While there is the standard Friday story of Jason returning to Camp Crystal Lake to slaughter the horny camp counselors, there is also the conclusion of the Tommy Jarvis storyline, a competent yet stubborn sheriff that takes Jason on alone to buy the kids time to escape, and likable characters… er, victims. Further, we see Jason slowly realizing how much stronger he has become since his resurrection, with actors C.J. Graham and Dan Bradley providing excellent characterization… y’know, for an unstoppable, mute, killing machine. Jason almost seems annoyed that people still haven’t caught on that the camp is his territory. The practical effects are amazing (looking at you Sheriff Garris), the gore is top notch, the kills are intense, and the actors do a great job. That’s saying something for the sixth movie in a series with such fluctuating quality. The horror elements are always at the forefront, but the humor definitely makes this one stand out. My personal favorite scenes are when Jason rips Sissy through the window, the fight between Jason and Sheriff Garris, and, of course, the finale. While Kane Hodder is and always will be my favorite Jason actor, this entry in the series is arguably the best. Le film a su ne pas être trop long ce qui évite d'avoir des longueurs qui sont la juste pour combler. On a un casting plutôt intéressant avec de très bons acteurs, mention spéciale pour Chris Hemsworth. Le film est bourré de cliché patriotique american comme ils les aiment mais ont s'enfou on a devant nous un bon film d'action de belle cascade et de jolie explosion. Starting new good habits and letting go of the bad ones may be hard for most of us because we are doing the wrong way. L’INSEGUIMENTO in MOTOSCAFO di QUANTUM OF SOLACE ( #BondTrivia) La scena in motoscafo di Quantum of Solace (2008) fu girata nella baia di Colòn, Panama, che nel film ritrae il porto di Kings Quay ad Haiti. Le prime tre settimane di produzione, dal 25 febbraio 2008, lavorarono alla scena il regista di seconda unità Dan Bradley (che ricopriva il medesimo ruolo nel franchise di Jason Bourne) e gli stunt-man degli attori principali. A partire dal 19 marzo li raggiunsero sul set il regista della pellicola Marc Forster e i protagonisti Daniel Craig e Olga Kurylenko, che si erano allenati per settimane a sostenere l’incredibile sforzo che la scena richiedeva. Per rendere l’azione più realistica fu bandito il green screen e venne realizzato tutto dal vero. QUANTUM OF BOURNE Una critica sovente al ciclo Craig è che somigli troppo ai film su Jason Bourne, agente segreto americano portato sullo schermo 4 volte da Matt Damon. Il film di 007 tradizionalmente più criticato in tal senso è Quantum of Solace, episodio anomalo all’interno della serie. Effettivamente, l’intenzione esplicita del regista Marc Forster fu da subito quella di creare un film di rottura con i precedenti, che fosse più asciutto e intimo rispetto alla tipica formula bondiana. Per questo fu affiancato da Dan Bradley come regista della seconda unità, noto per ricoprire lo stesso ruolo nella saga di Bourne. D’altra parte Quantum of Solace si configura come un’estensione di Casino Royale proprio come ogni capitolo delle avventure di Bourne, che sembra riaprire i discorsi lasciati in sospeso in precedenza. La violenza, le scene d’azione e l’internazionalità sono altri caratteri che lo avvicinano alla serie con Matt Damon. Quantum mostra un James Bond più fragile, intimo, cupo, silenzioso e spesso anche più anonimo del solito. Questa formula lo rende un agente segreto credibile, proprio come Jason Bourne. Tuttavia 007 viene così sottratto dello charme e del glamour che solitamente lo contraddistinguono. Proprio l’assenza del tipico humor e di altre caratteristiche storiche di 007 rendono Quantum uno dei film più controversi e generalmente meno apprezzati dai fan.
