After a long day marching for 🇵🇸 with 200,000 beautiful humans on Saturday in London this was me kicking off my shoes. Certainly getting my steps in every weekend! This was my #solidaritystyle🍉 outfit. A colour block jumper and floral print socks that ticked off the flag colours. . I have photos to share from the day but I keep getting drawn into news. Excited to see what’s happening across universities in the US and spreading around the world. Hoping Gen Z will take this global. All I can say is thank God for the young people! How inspirational they have been in the face of silence, inaction, complicity and now violence of the generations before them. . But at the same time we’re seeing daily attacks on 🍉 and preparations for a ground invasion on Rafah. Barely any mention in the western media about the two mass graves found at Al Nasser and Al Shifa hospitals with almost 700 bodies including health workers, patients some with catheters still attached, women and children. Grim reports of zip tied hands, summary executions, mutilations, skin and organ theft and people being buried alive. Guess what the media focused on? How protests were not safe for Jews due to an incident orchestrated by a known agitator who was given way too much airtime. I’ll say it again: the protests are peaceful and safe for everyone. Trouble is always from elements outside of it. Thousands of Jews always join the protest saying they feel safe and warmly welcomed. I’ve shared a few stories of interviews with Jews on the March for their perspective which are worth a watch. . If you have a solidarity outfit you want to share please use the hashtag and tag me. D A Y F O U R T E E N Two week check-in. I've been seeing a few other capsule wardrobe accounts on here and the general vibe seems to be a rail of monochrome plain basics. That was never gonna work for me. I'd just get bored. My natural inclination is to vere towards black, but I've found that by editing my wardrobe down this past two weeks, I think I've worn more colour and pattern than ever. There've been a couple of days when I've wanted to dip into my other clothes, but for the most part, I'm pretty happy with the (mostly not plain basics) I've picked as part of my edit and it's made getting ready quicker and easier. And anything that saves me time is always a winner. Today I'm thrilled to debut my first Socks and Sliders outing of the year. An iconic look, I'm sure you'll agree. Well, you probably won't, but that's ok. I love that at 42 I've finally found my style, even if sometimes that style is highly questionable.

At the last National March for Palestine I met up with @flaneuse12 who I initially connected with on Instagram over sustainable fashion and politics. We finally arranged to meet in person a few months ago at one if the earlier protest marches. . She has started a project at the following account @stitch.their.names.together which is an embroidery project to honour the Palestinians who have died since October by stitching their names using traditional embroidery techniques. Palestinian embroidery is a tradition that is passed down from mother to daughter through the generations. If you want to get involved give her a follow and get in touch. . Tomorrow is the National March for Palestine in London. With 🇮🇱 preparing a deadly invasion in Rafah where 1.5 million are trapped with nowhere safe to go we desperately need to make our voices heard. I encourage anyone who can to come join us. We meet at 12.00 pm at Parliament Square and march to Hyde Park. Or if you have a local protest go give them your support. And if you can’t or don’t have anything local to you then join us vicariously by posting something online for a hashtag to raise awareness #solidaritystyle🍉 and connect with others who stand in solidarity with 🍉 and are calling for an end to g3n0c1d3 . Yesterday marked 200 days of the g3n0c1d3 in 🍉 and my feed was filled with reminders of the horrors being inflicted daily which many of us have borne witness to over this time. . How is this still going? We asked ourselves this at 100 days! Another 100 have passed and things are only getting worse. And still so much silence. . I do what I can to raise awareness and I see you insta friends who are doing the same. But we are far fewer in between than I’d have hoped for a sustainable fashion community who generally have a grasp of how western capitalism and racist constructs are responsible for oppression and exploitation of people in the global south. Why are many from this community not joining the dots with the 🇵🇸 cause? We are seeing how these people are so dehumanised they are reduced to data points in an AI system called Lavender predicting who might be a militant, predicting when they’ll be home to strike and killing them and their families, enabling the tech to be labelled “battle tested” so it can be sold to armies and police forces on other countries. Is this a world we want our children to grow up in? . Where are the sustainable fashion crowd calling publicly for this to end? Hell where are the fashionistas with big platforms calling for this to end? I’m feeling pretty alone and deserted as I know others are too in their social circles, workplaces and even families. . I read somewhere that many good people often don’t speak out because they lack courage. It’s understandable. There is barely any mainstream news on what’s happening on the ground so we’re not being shown the reality. More airtime and headlines are unfortunately given to falsely smear peaceful protests in London. We’re seeing sinister crackdowns on free speech everywhere. But in ten years time when the horrors are finally revealed after 🍉 has been razed and it’s people ethnically cleansed and the evidence is finally revealed about what was done how will you feel about what you did or didn’t do? . Coming out for 🇵🇸 in style! . Yesterday I joined the @southldn4pal group for a protest at the US embassy. We did some good shouting and flag waving and encouraged lots of passing drivers to honk their horns in solidarity with 🍉 . I had to get a photo with this dapper gentleman in his fabulous pinstripe suit, top hat and #keffiyeh . Wotjeck is a Polish Jew born and raised in London. I recognised him from the Instagram account of @haseeb_akhi who is worth a follow for heartwarming content. Haseeb interviews people from all walks of life in London on the National Marches asking them why they’ve come out to support 🇵🇸 It’s amazing to see how many people he speaks to, from children through to the elderly, have a good knowledge of the brutal history of the area. I’ve put the two clips of Wotjeck speaking eloquently about the history on my stories. . Wotjeck cycles in the protest towing a coffin on which are written key dates and facts about the Warsaw uprising of Jews. He has been arrested twice for it and subsequently released when he’s explained to the coppers the history behind what he’s written! . We made it to the end of the first week of term 5...somehow...despite Zachary coming out in chicken pox on Tuesday...then Dylan was sent home on Wednesday afternoon as he felt poorly and has had a high temperature, sore throat and earache since 🥺 But other than that, I've had a pretty good week 🩷 I wore this on Wednesday and it was lovely to receive lots of compliments on this silky pleated maxi skirt from @tuclothing, which I paired with a sage green washed tee from @hm, my leather jacket and my @adidas VL court trainers. I saw the skirt last week but didn't buy it as wasn't sure it would suit me, but was inspired by @lottiedrynan and her post about wearing stuff you love, so I went back the next day and bought it 😁 It's a lovely light material, slightly see-through but I always wear shorts or @snagtights shorts anyway, very swishy and I felt fabulous in it!
