Today definitely will go down in our travel history as 'the Moose Day' - we were lucky enough to see no less than 6 (!) different moose in a day: one female with her calf and 4 bulls. The family was nicely spotted from the highway in the middle of Medicine Lake, the two younger bulls were feeding on grass in the middle of the parking lot at Maligne Lake and on our drive back, another older bull showed himself directly next to the highway 😍 we are speechless about those encounters and want to share our favorite shots here (more videos will follow in our story with the two youngsters having a little quarrel). Starting of with -4°C 🥶 we explored the area around Nordegg a bit today. In our opinion totally underrated area - so beautiful!!! It was the first time in a while that we climbed up a peak on which we had a 360 ° view of the whole surrounding area 😍 in this case including Abraham Lake. Since this year the road to one of the most famous lakes in Banff National Park, Moraine Lake, is closed for personal vehicles and only accessible by shuttle. Long day starting at 8.30 am to hike around in Yoho National Park - being back at the car at 5.30 pm after 21 km in total 🥵🥰 but we just couldn't help ourselves and did a lot of breaks in so many beautiful spots and really took our time. Laughing Falls, Twin Falls and then up to the lookout called Whaleback where we reached the top of the Twin Falls! Woke up early, prepped our lunch in the rain, still determined to climb Abbott Ridge today - only to find out the trail was closed because of an aggressive Grizzly bear in the area 🙈 But we didn't let ourselves down and chose Glacier Crest as an alternative route for the day. We waited long for it but today we finally made our first hike in the Canadian Rockies ❤️⛰️ Pearly Rock in Glacier National Park, 1145 m elevation gain rewarded by an amazing view, a very cute chipmunk encounter and being as close to the edge of a glacier as you can get! 🌞🦋 The Solarbutterfly Adventure in North America has begun, and we are right in the middle of it! 🚐✨ For almost a month now, we've been on tour in our solar-powered Tiny-House. 🏡 With nearly 100m² of solar panels, we charge our electric car, cook our meals, and keep our laptops juiced up. 🔌 The panels are mounted on the roof, and some are cleverly hidden inside, ready to be unfolded whenever possible. During the first two weeks in Canada, we explored deep forests, scenic coastlines, and ventured through the provinces of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. 🌲🌊 Thankfully, the cities weren't too overwhelming, and nature dominated, allowing our team to settle into our new home. Day 169 - 174 on my digital nomad adventure 🌎 A weekend and the last few days of my time in Toronto, Canada spent exploring the city and spending quality time with my two of my little favourites.. Friday night spent watching Toronto Maple Leafs (unfortunately losing though) the second play off round of Stanley Cup. Saturday wandering around Toronto (racked up about 20km in total) including Kensington Market which was gorgeous, full of amazing street art and nice shops and cafes etc. Sunday was mother's days in US/Canada so it was a day spent with family and the next few days continued in the same fashion as I tried to spend as much time as possible with the Tounsi family! Hello world 🤗👩🏼❤️👨🏼 It's been a while since our last post so we thought a little update couldn't hurt 😅 We have started working at @kumsheenrafting now four weeks ago, Joe on the campground and in the workshop and Franzi, after starting in the workshop and campground, too, in the office. It is such a beautiful place and after four weeks we can finally say that we managed to settle in and we're happy to call this our home for the next weeks and months ☺️ In the pictures you see some impressions of the resort (the lake picture, though, was taken outside on one of our days off at Seton Lake). Day 157 on my digital nomad adventure 🌎 A Sunday in Toronto well spent! A visit to Rogers Centre for a Toronto Blue Jays game ⚾️ eating footlong hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn and drinking beer! It was a great game with a couple of home runs but unfortunately it wasn't enjoy as they lost the game! Loved it though - especially @sydneypenman face 😍 After some downtime in the apartment we went out for dinner, caught a beautiful sunset sky on Blue Jays way! Day 156 on my digital nomad adventure 🌎 Day one in Toronto, Canada was nothing but amazing to say the least! As a Swede I love ice hockey and the Toronto Maple Leafs 🍁 played the deciding game in the first play off round in the Stanley Cup. The Blue Jays (baseball) had played a game earlier in the day so the city was packed with sports fan but @sydneypenman and I managed to find a spot to watch the game, eat Poutine and make new friends... and Toronto won 🏆 which was their first play off win in 19 years so the city went mental!!!! Such an amazing atmosphere in downtown outside the arena I also had the immense pleasure of seeing the wonderful @prbyvalmazza (and her family) as I arrived as they were here for an ice hockey tournament too! Safe to say that I was tired in the picture after 4 days in Las Vegas and then less than 4 hours sleep on a red eye flight but totally worth it! Today we have visited the BC Wildlife Park near Kamloops. It is a park where animals find shelter who have been orphaned as cubs or injured. They are brought there and cared for and either they are released at some point or, if they cannot survive in the wilderness (because of lasting injuries or because they just never learnt how to care for themselves) they may stay there. The park is doing a great job in teaching about endangered species, the animals' natural habitat and how they usually live in the wild. Whale Watch Nanaimo - Part 1 We picked the last good weather day of the week to do some whale watching - and we were rewarded! At this time of the year, mostly Orcas pass through the Straight of Georgia, and we got to see plenty of them 😍 We got into what naturalists call a "T-Party". "T" stands for "transient" Orcas, who usually don't travel in big groups but sometimes they come together - for the males to impress females or to interact with each other in general - and this is what we were lucky enough to witness 🥰 At least 15 individuals our naturalist could make out. It was so awesome to see these beautiful creatures playing and having fun (we even got to listen to them with a hydrophone!) Hello again :) It's been a while since our last post, which was mainly due to having busy first days in Canada with the goal to set us up for our one-year-adventure 😅 but now we did it: got all the documents we need, got ourselves a good car,...
