What a huge noggin! 😱Sorry - that’s the first thing that popped into my mind when I scrolled my insta and saw this #carselfie - why I had to put my moon face to the phone camera this close I don’t know 😆 Well actually, I did want to talk about my skin but I should really do it with much more influencer-worthy photos. Bear with. So now my ‘back of the spoon reflection’ moon-face has caught your attention - I’ll just do a little catch up instead. How are you all? I’ve missed so much on here - though some will say I’ve missed nothing at all because it’s just same ‘ol insta. But I do miss my regular midlife catch-ups with my friends and followers ❤️ My midlife has had a right old bashing this year. I thought it would calm down a bit after ‘scary broken back incident’ with #StressedHusband - but those life lemons have just kept coming 🍋 🍋 🍋 Latest news: I’m back off the HRT after bouts of spotting that are being investigated. I’m getting ready to have a fibroid removed next week which the consultant believes is the cause of spotting as everything else up in the hood (deep in womb land) looks fab and healthy but added oestrogen can allow fibroids to continue growing. It was my choice (not docs) to come off HRT again. And although HRT has been amazing for my menopausal symptoms of anxiety, hot flushes and more - it’s not great for the bleeds which I thought I’d waved goodbye to forever. Ha! I now have no spotting at all but I’m feeling those menopausal symptoms creeping back. So I guess let’s get Fanny the fibroid dealt with and see if I then feel like resuming HRT. It’s all sent to try us isn’t it!? Alongside #spottinggate I’m packing up to move next week, have more work than ever (love it!), oldies that need attention, energetic puppy that needs walks and that, my friends, is this beautiful, surprising and messy adventure called life! ❤️ Oh, BTW I’m off to see Micky Flanagan tonight in Brighton 😁 Bring on the laughter! 🙌 How are you all? A lovely outing to Dorset yesterday after the awful rain on Saturday. It was wonderful to see the sun although the wind was still a bit on the cool side. I can't believe it's the end of April already. Strangely, March seemed to drag on for ever but April - whoosh! I just hope the summer doesn't disappear as quickly - when it eventually arrives. It's been such a dreary winter with so few bright, crisp days that I could really do with some warmth and sunshine now. Start where you are… I read a great post today from the wonderful frazermcglinchey who always writes the kind of posts that make you ponder, take a deep breath, then exhale slowly, releasing all the negative crap you’ve been holding in your brain. Today’s post was no different and his words ‘Start Where You Are’ keep whirling inside my head. Are you like me? In that sometimes you have so many ideas, thoughts and feelings buzzing around, you become paralysed by procrastination and can’t seem to move forward? Maybe if we clear out all of the over-thinking flummox in our head and stick with just these words, we are going to be moving in the right direction, right? Start where you are You’re not too late, too early Or not good enough Start where you are It’s a place as good as any You don’t need to be ahead And you’re definitely not behind Start where you are It’s the perfect place To get to where you want to be Just start. EVERY DAY IS A CHANCE TO START AGAIN ✨ I always get a bit melancholy when it’s Summer Solstice because I love summer so much and I know that there’s always some annoying little bugger that will say, “oh well, nights will be getting darker and it’ll soon be Christmas” Argggh! ☀️This time each year, I feel we’ve just got into our swing – flip flops and flowy things are the go-to choice of style, the duvet coats are finally but a distant memory (mine is shoved away, gathering dust in the cupboard ‘o crap and I wish it could stay there!) And our thoughts turn to balmy nights in the garden or by the river sipping rosé (just me?) ☀️I feel that everywhere I walk, instead of being met with grumpy faces and huddled ‘don’t talk to me’ energy, I’m met with open, smiley faces and nods of hello in recognition that we are all feeling just a little more buoyant thanks to Mrs Sunshine. 📣 MIDLIFE UPDATE. What a huge noggin! 😱Sorry - that’s the first thing that popped into my mind when I scrolled my insta and saw this #carselfie - why I had to put my moon face to the phone camera this close I don’t know 😆 Well actually, I did want to talk about my skin but I should really do it with much more influencer-worthy photos. Bear with. So now my ‘back of the spoon reflection’ moon-face has caught your attention - I’ll just do a little catch up instead. How are you all? I’ve missed so much on here - though some will say I’ve missed nothing at all because it’s just same ‘ol insta. But I do miss my regular midlife catch-ups with my friends and followers ❤️ My midlife has had a right old bashing this year. I thought it would calm down a bit after ‘scary broken back incident’ with #StressedHusband - but those life lemons have just kept coming 🍋 🍋 🍋 Latest news: I’m back off the HRT after bouts of spotting that are being investigated. I’m getting ready to have a fibroid removed next week which the consultant believes is the cause of spotting as everything else up in the hood (deep in womb land) looks fab and healthy but added oestrogen can allow fibroids to continue growing. It was my choice (not docs) to come off HRT again. And although HRT has been amazing for my menopausal symptoms of anxiety, hot flushes and more - it’s not great for the bleeds which I thought I’d waved goodbye to forever. Ha! I now have no spotting at all but I’m feeling those menopausal symptoms creeping back. So I guess let’s get Fanny the fibroid dealt with and see if I then feel like resuming HRT. It’s all sent to try us isn’t it!? Alongside #spottinggate I’m packing up to move next week, have more work than ever (love it!), oldies that need attention, energetic puppy that needs walks and that, my friends, is this beautiful, surprising and messy adventure called life! ❤️ Oh, BTW I’m off to see Micky Flanagan tonight in Brighton 😁 Bring on the laughter! 🙌 How are you all? Start where you are… I read a great post today from the wonderful frazermcglinchey who always writes the kind of posts that make you ponder, take a deep breath, then exhale slowly, releasing all the negative crap you’ve been holding in your brain. Today’s post was no different and his words ‘Start Where You Are’ keep whirling inside my head. Are you like me? In that sometimes you have so many ideas, thoughts and feelings buzzing around, you become paralysed by procrastination and can’t seem to move forward? Maybe if we clear out all of the over-thinking flummox in our head and stick with just these words, we are going to be moving in the right direction, right? Start where you are You’re not too late, too early Or not good enough Start where you are It’s a place as good as any You don’t need to be ahead And you’re definitely not behind Start where you are It’s the perfect place To get to where you want to be Just start. The weeks fly by but it's still a bit chilly although at least it's been drier so it's not quite as muddy. As you might recall, the dog managed to lose her GPS tracker, which I did find although it was damaged beyond repair. So in the end I bought another one but a different make because the other one was discontinued. The new one is quite fun though. It has a few extra features that the old one didn't have including one that tells you how far you (or rather the dog) have walked. Today was our first day and according to the tracker app we did 4 miles. I can see me getting obsessive about this but via the dog! Still, it is quite interesting to see because usually I never know how far we walk. It has some other features as well but you have to pay for those which is annoying so I won't be getting those - at least not yet.
