M Y • J O U R N E Y ✨️ 📍SWCP This is me, at the beginning of June last year. This was my first time walking the coastpath. Previously, I had enjoyed long walks daily around Plymouth, especially our seafront. I'd go walking for hours when I could, and it did wonders for my mental health. So I decided to try a coastal path walk, I'd walked short parts of it in Devon, but not far. So, to kick it off, I decided to walk from Bantham beach to Salcombe and back. (I know I gave myself a big challenge 😅) I walked 23 miles that day. It was hard going, but I absolutely loved the sights before me. This was the start of my journey on the SWCP. I was addicted! Now, my aim is to eventually walk the whole of the SWCP, BUT I'm not in any rush. The beauty of the path for me is not just the actual path itself but all the little off routes, beaches, waterfalls, and delights I find by exploring off the path. This is why I rack up so many miles when walking 😂 It's another reason why I love to go back and revisit the same routes I've walked before, to see them in the different seasons and so I can find more hidden gems. That is why I am in no rush to complete it all. I have been amazed by what the coastpath offers us. Devon and Cornwall are absolutely beautiful, and I'm sad I didn't know what we had naturally around us.
