I'm going for a #magamsewalong trifecta here! 😁 My granddaughter needed a "disco" outfit for a dance filming with her dance troupe. I gave her the FREEDOM to choose the appropriate fabric from my stash and what she wanted of them. She chose some black sequin fabric for a skirt and some purple knit for her top. I used the skirt and top from @lovenotions Cartwheel Collection. Perfect choices! 👍 The skirt went together well, but the shirt.... I made a right MUCKLE of the one sleeve. I put it in wrong sides facing, then actually put holes in it while removing the stitches. 🤦♀️ I used interfacing on the wrong side to mend them. In the end, everything turned out great. My daughter called the other day and said that my granddaughter Nia needed a new blanket for daycare. Could Gigi make her one? My response was of course! My granddaughter lives several states away and sewing is one of the ways I can connect and let her know how special she is to me. 💘 Nia has sensitive skin so my daughter wanted her to have a soft knit blanket. Polyester bothers her skin so I used a soft French Terry from @surgefabricshop and a lightweight jersey from JoAnn fabrics. I used a self binding method with no raw edges. A video tutorial is up on my YouTube channel and on the blog if you want to give it a try. Nia loves her swan blanket!

Cette fois, ce joli bustier @vanessapouzet , réalisé dans un jersey, est associée à la jupe Isadora absolument wahou de @pmpatterns ! Cette jupe est cousue depuis un an au moins et je l’adore. Il lui fallait juste un petit haut pour la mettre en valeur et je trouve que l’association est canon. Les deux modèles sont vraiment très faciles à coudre. 💫 Day 70 of #100DaysOfSewingPants 💫 One of the things I enjoy so much about the 100 day project is the deep dive into one thing! I’m learning so much about sewing (and more so, fitting) pants - it’s awesome. Definitely not perfect but lots of fun. Today I completed a second pair of @lieslandco #HollywoodTrousers - the same fabric as the first pair but one size up. They fit heaps better. I’m willing to concede perhaps my initial measurements were a bit off! That’s my fourth pair of pants finished (plus one unfinished!) and goal no. 2 complete 👌
🇬🇧🇪🇦🌻🌻A quick, very spring refashion!!🌻🌻 I had this dress that I had always wanted to add the occasional ruffle because it was short. The top didn't fit me anymore either, so I decided to just make a skirt. I have complemented it with this daisy denim from @suenaentretelas who explained to us wonderfully the difference between jean and denim💙🫶. So now I know that my skirt is made with a denim blend. I made the waist part exactly keeping the shape and I saved the original embroidery to make a belt later #zerowastefashion. I've gone around and around gathering the ruffles and I have a piece of clothing surrounded by daisies. Oh and a hat and earrings too!! Así que ahora sé que mi falda está hecha con una mezcla de denim nuevo y reciclado. Je n’ai pas eu besoin de mettre le zip, j’ai fait le haut en 38 et le bas en 40 pour laisser passer « la chose » (le fion, pour ceux qui n’auraient pas compris ) sans forcer. Et aussi car flemme de mettre un zip 🤣. Et ça passe nickel. Je ferai des photos portées dés que ce mois de janvier sera fini… car trop froid. Yay, it’s almost time for Me Made May (can someone please let the weather know that it is May this week!!! 😵💫🥶) This year, I pledge to take note of which of my makes I am wearing and which I am not. This will help me to do a proper audit of my wardrobe and work out why I am not reaching for certain items. Is it because they don’t fit? Don’t suit me? Don’t fit with my lifestyle? I can then use this to plan what I do next and what I want/need to make. I’ll document my outfits on the grid as and when I remember - will try and do it most days so I can use my grid to look back over the month. Eigentlich wäre es passender, wenn auf dem Kleidchen Fleischwürste anstelle von Erdbeeren abgebildet wären. Fleischwurst ist nämlich die einzige kulinarische Konstante unserer Jüngsten. Da freut sich die vegetarische Mutter fast ein Loch in den Kopf! Letztes Jahr wurden Erbeeren noch gegessen, jetzt ist “das Weiße” ein bißchen eklig. Auf Stoff sind Erbeeeren aber total O.K. ...Da habe ich ja nochmal Glück gehabt! Neben Erdbeerchen gibt es heute noch Blümchen und Blumen in allen Variationen neu im Shop! Enjoying the autumn colours of Bright. I really love the place. We're a little late for chestnut gathering but I have managed to fill a small bag. 😋 This is my second pair of #mitchelltrousers by @closetcorepatterns. They feel so comfortable! I've also made a third pair with the slimmer leg but I think I prefer big and baggy. I got the fabric from Tokyo and actually managed to snip a hole in a random spot whilst doing the fly. Crying was involved but I think I've done a pretty good job patching it up and balancing the hexagons. I don't think anyone will notice. **KINDER BADKLEDING ** ~ ~ Ken je dat, dat je er zo tegenop hebt gezien om te beginnen, maar dat als je eenmaal bent begonnen je niet meer kan stoppen!? Het begon met een badpak en eindige met twinning outfits voor allerdrie de kinderen en ook nog een bijpassend ‘t shirt voor op het strand 🤪 Ik heb gekozen voor de Ester en Ebbe, omdat het gewoon een toppatroon is en zo in elkaar zit. Mijn nieuwe Bernina lockmachine bleek een speciale extra stretch steek te hebben (kreeg de tip van Mariska @mbym.sewing , nogmaals dank! 😘) en daardoor zaten ze alledrie zo in elkaar. Ik denk dat ik langer op zoek ben geweest naar het perfecte patroon voor jongens dan het daadwerkelijk naaien ervan 🤣 Tot slot, flat lay foto’s laten echt niet zien hoe goed het model in elkaar zit. Helaas post ik geen badkleding van mijn kinderen op social media, maar geloof me wanneer ik zeg dat ze nog veel mooier staan in het echt! The first me-made >wearable< pants 🐦 Alright, this is my 5th attempt at pants and finally a successful one! All those muslins made from old bedsheets are worth it now. The fabric drapes just like I was hoping it would but somehow it attracts all sorts of specs and dust! Anyways, I've been wanting a pair of wide pants like these for a while. Also, I learnt how to adjust (or "scoop") the pant around the seat area to customise the fit. It was more tricky than it seemed but I feel more confident now. Next pair will fit me even better! Die Passform ist super. Ich habe einen grossartigen Jeansstoff von @stofflounge verwendet, der 2% Elasthananteil hat. Ich habe sie heute zum erstenmal getragen und habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt darin. Die größte Herausforderung war die Ziernaht, die ich mit einem 30er Knopflochgarn genäht habe. Es hat ein bisschen gedauert, bis ich mit der richtigen Nadel und dem richtigen Fuss einigermaßen zurecht gekommen bin. Erst beim Zuschnitt habe ich bemerkt, dass der Logostoff Streifen hat, die berücksichtigt werden sollten. Gerade noch rechtzeitig 😅. #tailor.academyunit47 Denim jacket with fringes.
