Das war wirklich #slowsewing vom Schnittmuster vorbereiten, übers Probeteil nähen, bis hin zu den fertigen Kleidungsstücken 🤗 Das Oberteil meines Kleides ist gefüttert, die Rüsche am Ausschnitt geht einmal rundherum. This is my collection of Naya t-shirts #tammyhandmadenaya by @tammy.handmade . I am living in a very hot place and love the feel of viscose/modal/tencel in the hot months. The blue and green jerseys are from Andrea @beyond.thepinkdoor and are pure joy on my skin. The red I have posted previously. The Naya is perfect for the days when I want a loose-fitting t-shirt. My modifications were to size down one size, extend the length by 3" (7.5 cm), and raise the armscye by 3 cm. 4.Tag von #memademay2024 - schon fertig gerichtet für die Arbeit - nur noch Straßenschuhe fehlen. Heute trag ich meinen 4.Trachtenrock, momentan auch mein einziger - die anderen wurden sehr viel getragen und sind durch. Diesen #trachtenrock habe ich letztes Jahr genäht und im April kam das perfekte Kombishirt dazu! Wieder ein #stasiatop - ebenfalls mein 4.selbstgenähte T-Shirt ( #stasiadress von @sewliberated - etliche Anpassungen inzwischen: breitere Ärmel, nach vorne verlagerte Schulternaht, breitere Schultern, anderer Ausschnitt vorne und hinten). Das Shirt ist aus Bambusviskose und mein absolutes Lieblingsshirt. Dazu noch ein letztes Jahr genähte #Seidenloop und eine gekaufte #strickjacke - auch im #stoffladen gekauft wie fast alle anderen Stoffe für dieses Outfit 😁 Und da ich im Vergleich zum letzten Jahr inzwischen wieder bisschen schlanker bin, sitzt der Rock aktuell recht locker. Hallo ihr Lieben, ja ich weiß, ich habe hier lange nichts von mir hören lassen. Ich sitze einfach nicht mehr so häufig an der Nähmaschine, da ich meinem zweiten Hobby, der Fotografie, mehr Raum geben und mich hier weiterentwickeln möchte. Gerade jetzt, wenn das Wetter draußen besser wird, macht es noch viel mehr Spaß die Kamera in die Hand zu nehmen. Es macht mir so viel Freude alles auf Bildern festzuhalten. Diese wundervoll blühende Natur, meine Kinder beim Spielen oder einfach Alltagsmomente. Seit dem Tod meines Papas ist es mir noch wichtiger geworden, Momente mit den Liebsten festzuhalten. Und genau die Alltagsmomente sind es doch, die wir mit geliebten Menschen teilen, die uns später an sie erinnern werden. Nun ja, da mein Herz aber auch am Nähen hängt und mein zweites Hobby ja auch hier zum Einsatz kommt, werde ich euch auch weiterhin hier daran teilhaben lassen, allerdings etwas weniger häufig. Ich hoffe ihr bleibt mir trotzdem treu. 🥰 Nun also zum genähten. Es gab auch für den Mini ein QT Shirt von @schleiferlwerk mit dem Fake T-Shirt Ärmel. Bei dem Stöffchen handelt es sich um den Rest von dem Panel Baustelle von @stoffduo welches ich vor längerer Zeit schon einmal vernäht hatte. Heute Mittag geht es für mich noch zum Challenge Lauf. Ich hoffe das Wetter bleibt beständig trocken. In diesem Sinne wünsche ich euch ein wunderschönes Wochenende. 🪡🧵This #nationaltextileday I’m remembering Ric & Rac of @daytonatrim (my fav local spot for notions and trims in NYC’s Garment District). 🐈🐈 The cutest orange shop cats always greeted me… showed me the latest selection by rubbing against rows of dangling bright colored trims. Daytona Trimmings has a plethora of unique ribbons, patches, buttons, dead-stock notions, zippers, threads, sewing patterns, and more. I also had my @rosina_mae sew-in labels produced there when I first moved to NYC in 2017. I loved that Ric & Rac were named after the type of zig-zag like trim called #ricrac. Missing Ric & Rac dearly since both of them have now passed. The pics of me with Ric are of our last interaction (earlier this year) which I’ll remember fondly. 💔In truth those cats reminded me so much of my cats @tuttymoopsyfriends 🐈⬛🐈⬛🖤. #memademay day 3! While I’m not gravitating towards dresses as much as I used to, sometimes you really do appreciate having a quick throw-on-and-go outfit for running some quick errands. I made this comfy linen #esgeorgiadress dress for that exact reason last year. Every time I wear it I am reminded how much I love wearing blue, despite not having made much with it! #memademay day 3: secondhand fabric I discovered the #okaymemademay prompts yesterday, what a great idea. I decided to follow along as good as I can to challenge myself to wear different items from my closet, including those I might not love the most. This is the case with that dress. The fabric is an old duvet cover which is really soft, but I coloured it in the washing machine and the colour is starting to wear off. Pattern is a hacked @helens__closet #gilberttop. I just cropped it and added a gathered shirt with pockets, and an elastic around the waist. I made it during pregnancy and it is nursing friendly due to the buttons, but I just feel it isn't exactly my style. I think I don't feel cool enough in it, maybe because the waist is too cinched in? I don't know, but it mostly gets worn in the house. By the way, any tips on sources for thrifted fabric in Germany/ around Leipzig? I really don't know any.

For a fashion and interior history enthusiast like me seeing Petit Trianon myself is a dream come true! The Versailles Palace area is humongous! There is the Palace, Grande and Petit Trianon, The Queen's Hamlet, Stabels, gardens and so on. Today we saw the Trianons and the Queen's Hamlet. Inspired by the traditional rustic architecture of Normandy, this peculiar model village included a windmill and dairy, as well as a dining room, salon, billiard room and boudoir. There also is a small farm with actual animals 😄 Here are pictures of the Petit Trianon. Completed in 1768, it provided Louis XV and his new mistress the Comtesse Du Barry with the privacy which was so sorely lacking at the palace. Marie-Antoinette, who had such trouble adapting to life in the court, received the Petit Trianon as a gift from Louis XVI in 1774 and developed a great attachment to this estate. There are beautiful gardens surrounding the Trianons and interesting surprises can be discovered at every turn. I really recommend you spend one day at this part of the estate! On Sunday we are going to see the the palace itself. This skirt is the first me-made garment I made when I started sewing seriously in 2021 (kudos to @emily_m_t for giving me the pattern and materials even though it took me like a solid decade to get it made). The other thing I’ve made since 2021 is a human being, so I’m finding the skirt fits a lot differently than the last time I wore it pre-parenthood…this might be its last hurrah. I wanted to make some more button-up shirts for spring: cotton, not too fancy, not silk, just shirts. If that hasn't been obvious lately! This is #S8889 again, and the fabric is something called microprene that I bought from @tessutifabrics - basically a no-crease stretch shirting. It's very soft and comfortable to wear. Alles neu macht der #memademay … für @stoffe_werning durfte ich einen vierlagigen Musselin vernähen. Der Musselinstoff hat eine voluminöse Struktur und ist sogar zweifarbig, so dass beide Seiten vorzeigbar sind und wunderbar mit einander harmonieren, durch seine Struktur ist der Stoff sogar fast knitterfrei… Ich konnte mir sehr lange nicht vorstellen Musselin zu tragen, denn es war für mich immer Kinder- und Babystoff, aber ich mag das angenehme Tragegefühl auf der Haut. Uikkarikausi lähenee ☀️ Itse poden tän joka vuosi kamalana aikana. Uiminen on kivaa, mutta se itse uikkari on kamalin asia maailmassa. Lähes joka vuosi ostan uuden kun se vanha ei istu sitten mitenkään päin. Oliko se jo muka ostaessa niin huono? Pitkään to-do-listalla onkin ollut uikkari, ja nyt se sai vähän kimmoketta kun huomenna on lähtö kylpylään 🙈 Lisäksi ollaan lasten kanssa innostuttu käymään uimahallissa, ja mikään ei ole kamalampaa kun se huonosti istuva uimapuku.. 😅 Mun kropan "perusongelma" on vaan se, että mulla on iso pylly ja iso maha. Näihin suhteutettuna kuitenkin kapea vyötärö, ja pieni kuppikoko. Ja kaiken kruunaa pitkä selkä. En ole päärynä, mutten myöskään omena 😂Ei siis mikään ihme, ettei ne kaupan uimapuvut oikeen istu. Ja kaavan muokkaus tälle kroppamallille alkoi tuntua myös liian isolta haukulta🙈 Bikinitkin ovat tuntuneet aina vieraalta, mutta pari kertaa lasten kanssa uimassa käyneenä totesin, että jossain välissä täytyy käydä vessassakin, ja uikkari pitäisi sen jälkeen saada märkänä vielä päälle takaisin 😶 Syntyi siis bikinit. Ekstrakorkealla vyötäröllä ja toppimaisella yläosalla. Ihan hyvä kompromissi etten sanoisi. Kerran nää on jo kerennyt käydä päällä, ja ehkä se uiminen ei tänä vuonna olekaan niin kamalaa kun on sopiva uimapuku 🤭 Ja hei! Next up for me made may is these lush blue cord #msworkertrousers by @modern_sewing_co . It took me a while to get round to making these because I knew from my wearable toile that I needed to make some fit adjustments. I always find adjusting patterns a bit overwhelming but it’s never as tricky as I think once I get into it. I find this pattern quite fiddly because all the details are proper but it is so worth it for a really professional and robust finish. I have a bit of a mental block around attaching the belt loops and managed to get them wrong on both pairs of these trousers that I’ve made, luckily they’re not too noticeable, but if you’re making these I recommend paying close attention at this point! Faff and errors aside these are so comfortable and wearable - the perfect alternative to jeans. The fabric is lush navy corduroy from @good_fabric_store which is one of my faves.
