Ask yourself the following question to get closer to the complexity: Is your child's everyday life structured in such a way that all duties can be managed and there is still room for leisure activities? Children, like all of us, have very different interests and preferences. And while one likes to spend a lot of time at home, another prefers sports and the next wants to spend as much time as possible with their friends. Or preferably all together. Your job as a parent is to keep an overview. Because if everyday life is only possible with a strict schedule and a child can't take time out without having to cancel appointments, then there may simply be too much on offer. If you feel that everything has become a little too much, have a conversation with your child at eye level: How are you doing? Do you still enjoy it, even if you always have to rush? Would you rather give up one thing so that you don't always have to do your homework in such a rush? And listen carefully to the answers! I often see parents who transfer their own stress onto their children and force them to take a break. And vice versa, there are also parents who expect their own energy from their children. But each of us has probably also had to deal with the opposite at some point: Our counterpart is indignant and doesn't have the slightest understanding for the fact that our thoughts and hearts are in a different world right now. Your child will probably have already been confronted with both. And that's a good thing, because children need to learn that there are different types of characters and learn how to deal with all these different characters. Now you come into play: as your child's closest caregiver, you probably know better than anyone else in the world when your child is in an emotionally stressful situation. You can't take your child's feelings away from them. But you can encourage them that it's okay to set different priorities at times. School is important, without question. The Christmas vacations are over, the reports have been handed in and bang - the old madness starts again and it feels like all the subject teachers want to write their papers in exactly one week. Does your child know how to manage the days and, above all, themselves well in such phases? How well does your child know themselves and can they manage their work and break times well? Does your child have a healthy balance between working hard and relaxing? Does your child manage to get into a "flow" when learning - this is what I like to call the phase of highest concentration, in which you work on a subject without a sense of time and cannot be distracted by anything. How does it work with time management, early portioning of the learning material and the various learning strategies? All of these points need to be learned over the course of a student's life and then practiced again and again using specific examples. Learning also needs to be practiced so that it can be successful in the acute peak phase of the school year and no one goes down with the ship. An example from (my) practice: When children come to me because of their poor spelling skills, we usually carry out a spelling test within the first few lessons. I don't use this to make a diagnosis, nor do I want to talk about the child's IQ afterwards. I just want to see whether certain error categories are accumulating. 50% of these children make a certain error in a very specific way: They write the words "convenient" and "source" with -kw-. What do I conclude from this? That our generation has simply forgotten the letter -Q- when learning the alphabet? No, definitely not! As soon as I explain to these children that a spoken -kw- is always written as -qu- in German, they can write all these words correctly (and speak them too, by the way, because most of them don't even realize that the -u- behind the -q- cannot be heard). The conclusion is clear: if someone doesn't know something, you can't expect them to know it. The sentence sounds strange, I know. But you know what I'm trying to say. Most people are mixed types When I was still at school, we once did a test in class on the different learning types. It turned out that I am a visual learner. I can see my surroundings very clearly in my mind's eye and can → where which object is located in my home, → which color I used to mark certain words on a worksheet, → what clothes someone was wearing or → whether something is missing from a collection of objects. The fact that there were numerous overlaps in the areas of the other learning types was ignored. For a while, I therefore only followed the recommendations for the visual learning type and that was not a good decision at all. 헤헤♡ 얼마 전 한국 다녀가신 세모네모의 정청 선생님. @teacherusako 짧은 일정인데도 감사하게도 연락을 주셔서 한걸음에 달려 나갔네요. :) 실제로는 처음 뵙는데도 서로 어색함 없이 이야기 꽃을 피웠어요.💐💐💐 제가 보기보다 낯을 가리는데 #인친님들이여웃지마소... 정청 선생님께서는 가드(?)를 내려놓게 하는 소탈하고 편안한 매력을 갖고 계시더라고요☺️ 세 시간도 채 안 되는 짧은 만남에 참으로 많은 이야기를 나누었어요. 동종 업계 종사자로서 영어 교육은 물론, 자녀 교육과 양육에 대한 생각에 일치하는 바가 많아 더욱 신이 났지요🎵 #workingworking #learninglearning - 정청 선생님과 나누었던 이야기 되새기며 이 새벽에 끄적여 보는 글 :) 제가 엄마표 영어를 하면서도 아이들을 전면에 내세우거나(이 표현이 맞는 지 모르겠지만;) 제 엄마표 영어 방법, 과정에 대해 이런저런 이야기를 하지 않는 이유가 첫째, 저도 아직 아이들을 키우는 과정에 있기 때문이고, (아이들이 지금은 제 의도대로 성장하고 있지만 언제 어떻게 바뀔지 모르는 거니까요😊) 둘째, 저는 정말로 엄마표 영어를 위해 '특별한 무언가'를 한 적이 없다고 믿었기 때문이예요. 👉👈 순간순간의 작은 고민들은 있었지만, 어떤 분들처럼 치밀하고 체계적인 계획이나 실천도 없었고, 학습적인 의도로 어떤 활동을 시켜본 적도, 제가 열심히 공부해서 무언가를 아이들에게 가르쳐 준 적도 없었어요. (누군가에게는 이런 고백(?)도 제가 영어 선생님이라는 환경적인 여유로 보여질 수도 있겠지만, 현실은... 그냥 제가 너무 바빴기 때문입니다🥲 아이들과 남편에게 미안할 정도로 많이 바빴어요ㅠㅠ) 저도 직업인으로서 제가 맡은 일을 해내야 했기에, 영상물 보여주고 책 읽어주는 것이 제가 할 수 있는 최선이었습니다. - 그래도 믿음은 있었어요. ✔️노출은 반드시 쌓인다. ✔️영어에 대한 긍정적 감정이 중요하다. ✔️자녀와의 교감, 좋은 관계가 모든 학습, 습득의 근간이다👍 이 믿음을 바탕으로, 집에서도 일해야 할 때는 영어 영상물에 '매우' 의존했고ㅎㅎ🙄 아이들이 가져오는 책은 한글책, 영어책 가리지 않고 그냥 읽어 주었습니다. 아, 그냥은 아니고 '목청껏' '정성 들여' 읽긴했어요 ㅎㅎ #아시죠? #제리딩스타일ㅋㅋ 책 읽기가, 영어가, 즐겁게 느껴졌으면 하는 제 바람을 담아 참말로 신나게 읽어 주었어요 ㅎㅎ #읽다보면저도흥이나는것🎵 #그시절저를바라보던남표니의표정🤭🤭🤭 그렇게 별 것 아닌 것 같은 소리와 문자 노출이 차곡차곡 쌓이다 보니 아이들 각자의 속도에 맞는 영어 성장이 이루어지고 있네요 :) 전문가의 눈으로는 채워줄 점이 군데군데 보이지만, 엄마의 눈에는 그저 대견하고 고마운 모습입니다♡ - - 몇 년이 지난 지금 돌아보니 그것이 저희 가정에 맞는 '지속 가능한 엄마표 영어' 방법이었다는 걸 깨닫고 있어요. 제게도 아이들에게도 부담 없이, 느리지만 자연스럽게 가는 것. #꾸준함 #루틴 이라는 말에 움츠러들 수 밖에 없는 워킹맘이지만, '꾸준함'에 대한 시각을 바꾸면 가능하다! 가 정청 선생님과 대대적인 일치를 본 부분이었고요👏👏👏 그리고 또 한 가지, 엄마표와 사교육의 균형, 각 상황에서 엄마의 역할에 대해서도 서로 공감하는 부분이 많았는데요. 이 이야기는 오늘 밤 정청 선생님과의 라방에서 좀 더 허심탄회하게 풀어 보려고 합니다. #이야기보따리💝 정청 선생님께서 <엄마표 영어 vs 사교육 영어> 로 호기심 만발하는 제목 지어 주셨는데🙈🙈🙈 양자 대치의 상황이 아니라 각 가정에 맞는 길이 있고, 그에 따른 엄마의 '최소한의 역할'이 있다는 것. 이 역시 정청 선생님과 제 생각이 맞닿는 지점이었거든요. - 오랜만에 라방 초대 받아서 설레네요. 그 김에 인스타에 이렇게 긴 글도 써 보고요 하핳 ☺️☺️☺️ 바쁜 한 주 마무리하는 불금, 편안한 마음으로 이야기 나누러 오세요❤ 채팅 댓글도, 경험 공유도, ㅋㅋㅋ도, ♡ 세례도 모두모두 환영합니동💃💃💃 ----------------------------------------------------------- #리그램 - @teacherusako @semonemo.us by @get_regrammer 🎁

Silver Series 4 was the event we were waiting for 🥰🙏 Out of 6 jumper classes (0.8M and 0.7M), only one rail down in the 0.7M. And for the 1st time ever, #AniandZarah🐎 had only "time" faults LOL 😆 ... and they got a 5th in the 0.8M Jumper Classic with a time fault. It meant that Ani has been working with Zarah to find the fine balance of speed and control. Because if Ani let her, Zarah would go #zoomzoom (fun to watch but also nerve wracking) ... this weekend proved successful 🙌 to let Zarah go and bring her back, let her go and bring her back. 😍🙏👏 Horse shows are not just about competing. It's totally about putting in play what the rider and horse have been working on back at the home barn with their coach. Zarah 🐎 is a hot, strong and willful #ottbmare ... definitely not amateur friendly LOL ... with Ani's coach guidance 🙏 these last 4 months since back to training have been very fruitful. #learninglearning Horse shows are also about getting together with friends and family ❤ and enjoying the shared experiences of ups and downs, of wins and losses, of sheer exhaustion 😩 from the early wake ups, late going home, lots of physical activities in between. Much thanks to Ani's coach, Todd Janzen, and his #wintreefarm team as well as Sara House for starting the show well on Friday with her riding Zarah in the 0.8M Power and Speed class!
