⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “The Tearsmith” - Erin Doom The dive into this novel started with a Netflix trailer. It intrigued me. I thought this MUST of stemmed from a book! So I did some digging. I was right! “The Tearsmith” has recently been translated from Italian to English. There’s something you don’t see everyday. Having visited Italy last year and how the Netflix trailer sucked me in (I refused to watch it) I knew I had to get my hands on this literary piece of work! This novel is definitely a slow burn. A little too slow at times for me, hence the rating because it did take me a little longer to get into but I kept reading because I knew it would be amazing. It was written so beautifully and eloquently. Nothing like I’ve read for an American Author at least that I can recall. To the point where some parts are single tear would slide down my cheek. Nica & Rigel have spent most of their lives if not all at The Grave, an institute aka orphanage. Instilled upon them are traumas buried so deep love and family seem impossible. When Anna and Norman come to The Grave one day Rigel and Nica’s lives are changed forever more. Through discovery, hardships, trials, tribulations, and long sought understanding comes impossible love. ❓️What spooky books are you reading in October? . . . I haven't done a single book review in a while because I have been super busy. I'm still reading, just no time to post. Then I read Nocticadia, and I knew I had to (eventually) make time to write about this book. Partly because I almost dnf-d it. Solely on the fact that I wasn't sure if I could get past the ick factor of the illness. Let me tell you, it's not for the faint of heart. I set it down thinking I may or may not come back to it and started reading something else. Not even 24 hours later, though, I picked it back up. I really wanted to give it a try, and I am glad I did! This book is pretty disturbing but also pretty spicy. I picked it up purely from an ig post that mentioned the camera classroom scene. IYKYK If you can handle the horror medical stuff, this is a fascinating book with great spice, a VERY morally grey mmc, and lots of twists and turns that will keep you reading when you should have been asleep hours ago. No more tabs destroyed using the sheet as a bookmark and no more digging for pens/highlighters when I’m reading in the car. The magnet is strong and secure. These flags aren’t going anywhere. Hiiii there beautiful people 👽 {Paid PR} My absolute favorite @polishpickup theme is BACK!!! It’s rewind time! If you’re not familiar with Polish Pickup, I’ll break it down! It’s a shop that opens on the first Friday of every month and closes the following Monday (so open for a few days). Each month they pick a theme. Indie makers then make a custom polish for said theme. Polish Pickup then distributes those to us! This month is REWIND TIME! That means the makers bring back a shade they’ve done in the past. These shades are usually VERY sought after, hence bringing them back 😎 I’m starting off this PPU round with some good ol @beeskneeslacquer . They’ve remade 2 shades for rewind time and this one is Little Moth 2.0. #LittleMoth is described as a a dusty blue polish with red to green shifting shimmer but DAMN is it so much more than that.
