T H E J U N G L E Has been my home for the past three months & no words could do this experience justice, but we try… After seeing nothing but concrete walls from my apartments windows, I now see treetops, cloudy skies, & sunrises. I wake to the sound of cicadas screeching with joy as the light hits the leaves & warmth spreads like thick mist over a hill. I have little geckos, from prehistoric ages, running on my walls. Their tails a long length as they remain unharmed, catching winged creatures. Watching my every emotion at night. There are things that go bump in the treetops, But the soft sound of rain can been soothing. The storms however have humbled me, As a deafening sound takes over my house. I have stood in the middle of my tin roof hut, Rubber shoes yearning to protect me from an electric current. I have feared the jungle; But more than that, I now call it home.

SACHARIDOVÝ ŠOK stál včera za to 😃 keďže sme ubytovaní v Oáze pokoja len 20 minút od čokoládovne ZOTTER, nemohli sme ju nenavštíviť. Nádherné miesto, plné úžasných chutí, miliónov ľudí a zabavy. Vstupné sa platí pre deti od 4 rokov, čiže dva kusy sme mali zdarma 😃, starší kus stal 7.90€ a dospelé kusy 19.90€. v cene je úvodné kino a zoznámenie sa s príbehom pána Zottera, prehliadka fabriky s neobmedzeným počtom ochutnávok- koľko sa do vás zmestí- s vyše 300 druhmi čokolád a iných výrobkov. Odporúčam sa najskôr zastaviť v niektorom z fastfoodov, inak už po prehliadke do deti nedostanete ani vodu 😃a ďalšie odporúčanie je- neprezente to s ochutnávaním hneď na začiatku, lebo tie najlepsie a najchutnejšie veci sú na konci 😃 (čokoládový a karamelovy popcorn, milión orieškov v roznych polevach a running chocolate s aktuálne dostupnými čokoládami). Friends, family, and anyone else I haven’t reached out to. I’ll be leaving for a one month wilderness outing beginning tomorrow. No cameras, and I’ll be out of cell range the majority of it. This was a very normal part of my life 15 years ago. Nowadays, making the space to do this even just once a year takes a lot, yet feels imperative. This was a trip Claire and I planned last year, and she’s still holding me accountable for it :) 🙏 • For now, I’m leaving you with a photo my friend Sage took in my 30s just before doing a 6 week wilderness solo. All my clothing and the bag was tanned from skins I hunted or processed for other hunters. I crafted the bow from Russian Olive. A superior desert bow when tight grains are acquired. The 4 arrows are made from Tamarisk. A heavy hunting arrow that’s nearly impossible to break. This bow and arrow set fed me almost daily, and well. Inside my bulky, though light bag is one wool blanket, one wool poncho, one small bag of flour, and a buckskin pouch of Pinole. • This was one of the many 40+ day wilderness solos that eventually led to a life changing 6 month stay in the wilderness. There is much I’d love to share with you, though can only do so much through this platform. Stammwald mit Neuzugang 🦹♂️🤹♀️👨🌾 Wir waren mal wieder in unseren Hauswald, um neue Ausrüstung bei einem overnighter zu testen und haben dazu Unterstützung von Gerris Bruder (Torsten) erhalten, welcher hier tatsächlich seine allererste Nacht im Wald verbracht hat. Tag eins haben wir mit Lageraufbau, Feuerholz-spalten, Schnitzen und Essen kochen verbracht. Am kühlen Abend ging es dann für uns in die Hängematten und für Gerri in den alten Shelter vom Vorjahr. Am nächsten Tag haben wir unsere neue Gear (Gas VS. Holz. VS. Ethanol VS. Benzin) getestet und damit unser Frühstück zubereitet. Das Wochenende war zwar nichts besonderes aber es war dennoch abwechslungsreich, äußerst erholsam und vor allem sehr lustig. Damit wäre für uns Mal wieder bewiesen, dass auch die Standard-Wochenenden mehr als lohnenswert sein können.
