I had a ton of fun dyeing this Silk/Merino/Mohair yarn from @knomad_yarn (swipe to see the undyed, original yarn beside the dyed) I found a few tutorials online for how to get a rich brown shade using a tie dye kit that I bought for my kids but never used. It was a cheapy kit from Dollar Tree, no lie, and I wasn’t expecting miracles, buuuuut….. I got the prettiest Rosewood Brown shade and am thrilled! The whole process really only took about 24 hours! This is the Grace of Movement top by @faymapatterns . I shared in my stories how I’ve been struggling with posting. My journey to leveling up my sewing and fitting sometimes causes me to be a perfectionist. It has become a challenge to embrace the flaws of my garments. Especially when you take the time to do it right and something goes wrong. It sometimes makes me self conscious about my makes. I’m kind of an all or nothing kind of gal. And I’m either super critical of my makes or IDGAF AT ALL! Neither mindset is healthy, but hopefully I can get back to fun posts. My current fixation is my shoulder length. I’ve been struggling with whether or not my shoulder seam is long enough for my body, causing me to do narrow shoulder adjustments and then wondering if it was even necessary. The print is by the talented @aderabrowndesign This is the last of the prints that I purchased from her Spoonflower shop before it closed. The button holes on the sleeves are jacked up and I’ll be switching to snaps going forward since I’ve converted to a nail girlie. I embroidered the white cotton sateen and encountered some puckering. I’ll try to use spray adhesive and see if that helps next time. I know my mannequin isn’t the greatest model but this was the best I could do for the Veronica pattern by @madeformermaids I tried to do as many flat pattern adjustments as possible before cutting into the fabric. I made adjustments to the cups and the length of the trunk since they draft for a 5 ft 5 inch person. I want a little bit more support so I think I may alter the back to add a back band with a hook and eye. Also lining the front so there is no stretch. It has light support right now. I did use sheer cup lining in the cups. New Look 6407 So it’s done. If you saw my previous video, I talked about the fit and what I should have done while making this pattern and the notes I took for the next make! I made a trial gusset that sucked but if I make the necessary adjustments then I won’t need the gusset. This was my first project that I had a chance to try out embroidery and I love it. I made the #Me2043 pants by @knowmepatterns and I’m in love. My biggest challenge was the welt pockets because I’m not used to doing them. One came out good but the other is a mess. Loved all of the lessons in this pattern. This is a cotton suiting gifted by Carolyn over @diaryofasewingfanatic . I added elastic to the back waist of the pants to give me flexibility. I will model these soon. I made a 16 waist with an 18 hip. Lengthened the inseam by 1.5 inches Shortened the front rise by about 2 inches. @nycfrocktails was AMAZING! I decided to pull out this red Simplicity 8426 by @mimigstyle that I made for myself a few years ago. Thankfully it still fits! Lace overlay from @joann_stores I tried at the last minute to add some sequins to my outfit by making a matching set of gloves but they don’t turn out the way that I wanted. So I rocked the jumpsuit solo! I even took it a step further and went to @ultabeauty and let the associate pick out a shade of red lipstick for me to try. She ain’t miss with this one.
