Vengo a contaros de que va “Un lugar feliz”. 👉🏻Grupo de amigos. 👉🏻Narrado entre el pasado y el presente. 👉🏻Tres parejas y una de ellas la protagonista de esta historia, Harriet y Wyn. ✏️Harriet y Wyn son parte del mismo grupo de amigos, se conocieron, se enamoraron y tras 8 años de relación deciden que es hora de poner punto y final a todo. Por ciertas circunstancias, el grupo vuelve a reunirse, ellos no han desvelado su pequeño secreto y llega la hora de fingir que siguen juntos para que no estalle todo de golpe 💣, temen sobre todo que la amistad entre todos se rompa. Pero también hay otras razones que ahora mismo no os puedo desvelar (tendréis que leerlo 😉). Todo se desarrolla en una casa preciosa, en un pueblo típico americano. ✏️Tengo que reconocer que me enganché rapidísimo, y que el libro me ha dado bastantes sorpresas, una de ellas es el desarrollo del personaje de Wyn, pensé que sería de una manera y finalmente te encuentras con un hombre sensible con un montón de inseguridades. Otro de los puntos fuertes que he visto es el caos en la vida de Harriet y como es bueno normalizar que aunque estes cerca de los 30, puedes cambiar tus objetivos a expensas de lo que los demás quieran y buscar tu felicidad. Książkę "Zawsze mówi, że wróci" wysłuchałam w audiobooku. W tej pozycji, mimo że o tematyce górskiej, nie znajdziemy opowieści himalajskich. To portrety kobiet, które zrozumiały i zaakceptowały pasję swoich mężczyzn. To kobiety, które opowiadają historie swojego postrzegania świata. Kobiety, które odnalazły się w takim życiu, a bardzo często również jest to i ich pasja. Żony, partnerki wspinaczy nie poznały swoich mężczyzn w półmroku bibliotecznej czytelni. Połączył ich sport, ciekawość świata, gotowość do podejmowania ryzyka, pasja. Prawie każda z tych Pań także się wspina bądź wspinała, osiągnęła wiele ,zdobyła szczyty, pokonała rekordy, maratony . Może dlatego łatwiej im było zrozumieć i zaakceptować pasję ukochanego, bo same kochają góry, kochają wspinaczkę? Rozumieją to uczucie ,które jak narkotyk woła, by znów wyruszyć. Recenzja: Pierwszy raz spotykam się z książką, w której po jednej stronie mamy romans współczesny, a z drugiej romans kostiumowy i już samo to zachęciło mnie do przeczytania. Trochę się bałam, że romans kostiumowy może mi się nie spodobać, ale cała fabuła została tak świetnie poprowadzona, że ja nie mogłam się od tego oderwać. Ten klimat, bohaterowie i cała akcja była po prostu genialna! Jeśli chodzi o romans współczesny -uwielbiam go i zdecydowanie Keith skradł moje serce, jest tak świetną postacią, że nie da się go nie lubić. Muszę wspomnieć również o tym, że główna bohaterka tego romansu jest autorką "Mascarade" ale tej wersji kostiumowej, co było mega ciekawe, gdyż mogliśmy zaobserwować, jak tworzy ona fabułę do książki. Uważam, że pomysł na książkę był świetny, a potencjał został w pełni wykorzystany. Ja świetnie się bawiłam podczas czytania i miło spędziłam czas z bohaterami. Jeśli szukacie książki, która dostarczy wam masy wrażeń i wciągnie od pierwszej strony, nie pozwalając się oderwać, ta książka będzie idealna!
✩ • Ｒｅｖｉｅｗ • ✩ 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞 - The Maidens 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫 - Alex Michaelides 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞 - Thriller 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 - 3✨ I read this with my husband and it was so nice to be able to discuss a book in person for a change! We both absolutely loved The Silent Patient so we had high hopes. The main character Mariana is a group therapist who heads to Cambridge to support her niece Zoe, as one of her friends got murdered on campus and finds herself doing her own investigation. When reading The Silent Patient, I found it to be a very slow burn whereas with The Maidens I found it very pacy & easier to read. It definitely kept you guessing throughout the book and had plenty of suspects to become invested in. Some chapters I absolutely loved and was like yep this is where it gets going but then the next couple of chapters were a little more dull. The way the story was connected loosely to Greek Tragedy was different and it is definitely a well written book. However, I find it a bit monotonous that a civilian always seems to solve the investigation rather than the professionals. A szülők is élveznék szerintem amúgy, mert tényleg nagyon jópofa módon, cuki illusztrációkkal ragadja meg a kisállattartás témáját. Egy szuper közös program lehet ezt olvasgatni, nézegetni. Szó esik benne arról, hogy milyen felelősséggel jár az állattartás, hogy hogyan történik egy névválasztás, vagy az, hogy miért is jó mentett kutyát örökbefogadni (ez a kis fekete Maci kutya története például) 🥰 Van benne kakaiazonosító táblázat is (🤔), vagy a teendő, amikor az állatod az ágy végében áll és bámul, vagy épp bekattan. ✨THREE BOOKS, THREE COUNTRIES ✨ Happy Saturday! What are you up to today? The sun is finally shining here down south, so I’m planning a seaside walk and a coffee out but then I need to get back and do some work. You guys have probably realised by now that I love to read books by authors of a variety of nationalities and set in an array of different countries across the globe. I’m a huge travel and culture lover and I love being able to escape somewhere new whilst learning something new, too. So, today I thought I’d share some of the global fiction books on my imminent TBR (there are wayyyy more, but these are the ones I plan on reaching for first. Strings on Me by E. D. Bridges A huge thank you to Moonglow publishing for a copy of this book! 🌟🌟🌟🌟 R E V I E W This is a phenomenal YA book written by a teenager !!! (Sorry that is just inspiring and props to E. D. Bridges for this book) I am in awe of this book and the character development and storyline. This book is a great YA read with ghosts, detective work, friendship & mystery. This book touches on many issues like loss, friendship, growing up and mental health in such a beautiful way. E. D. Bridges has created worlds with depth in this novel that draw you in with characters with such depth, creating characters with flaws and imperfections in a way that allows readers to further relate to them and feel for them as they progress through. Do you ever meet characters where you just want to shake them for being absolute drama creators and making terrible decisions — well you will in this book. You also will meet characters that tug on your heartstrings and have you teary eyed I really enjoyed the Utopia dialogue from characters where you see their ideology but also see how the actioning has actually created a Dystopia because shaky misplaced intentions have flow on effects. That ending ?!?! What!! I need the next book because I need to know what happens to Aiden and whether his friends are okay and I want to learn more about the worlds and the inventions and the ghosts ! (This also made me want to read/watch a series of unfortunate events because Quigley (I have only ever heard/read that name in a series of unfortunate events)!!) Le chêne et la foudre 🗡 ❤️🔥/✨️ J'ai été complètement subjugué par ce livre. L'univers était époustouflant, la plume parfaitement bien écrite et les deux protagonistes touchants. Leur histoire d'amour m'a complètement retourné et profondément émue Ici c'est un one shot avec deux livres à l'intérieur et c'est pourquoi ce livre est un gros bloc 😅 Le livre 1 et le livre 2 sont complètement différents, on est pas du tout dans la même ambiance mais c'est là où le travail de l'autrice a été magnifique, c'est que les deux parties étaient parfaitement bien gérés. Je suis clairement pas sortie indemne de cette lecture tellement l'histoire était belle et je crois que je m'en souviendrais encore dans quelques années ❤️ Je suis passée par toute les émotions, j'ai voulu le balancer plusieurs fois et en même temps j'ai voulu le lire sans m'arrêter Les plot twist étaient exceptionnels! De todos esos abusos, lo que más me impacta es la impasividad de Martina sobre lo que acontece a sus hijos. En los capítulos de Henry conocemos toda la verdad de la historia, incluso su implicación... Casi al final del libro vemos cómo él se convierte en aquello que tanto a odiado. Aunque parece un final feliz, un reencuentro familiar que enmienda lo que el pasado destrozó...creo que augura un nuevo drama. 🍬 Lecture 22 Robert Lustig est un pédiatre qui se demande pourquoi ces dernières années, il y a une recrudescence d'obésité chez les enfants très jeunes (moins d'un an). Ce livre se base sur ces 16 années de recherches et nous explique avec des mots simples, abordable, comment fonctionne notre corps. Il explique par exemple pourquoi certaines personnes sont en surpoids et d'autres non. Et surtout, il enseigne comment prendre soin de notre corps et prendre en main notre alimentation pour éviter les conséquences (qui n'est pas l'obésité mais les maladies comme le cancer!). Je n'ai pas l'habitude de lire ce genre d'ouvrage, mais je ne regrette pas ! (Merci @mayontwix ). Il m'a ouvert les yeux sur le fonctionnement de mon corps (et se n'est pas ce que tout le monde croit) et sur l'influence des politiques et de l'agroalimentaire. C'est un livre que tout le monde devrait lire... J'avoue que je le referme un poil révolté mais une chose est sûre, je ne mangerais jamais plus comme avant ! "Exuberance", my novel, is set in Sydney. My ❤️ for my adopted city transpires in every chapter. Some of Sydney’s most recognisable landmarks are featured in the book, including the fountain at Martin Place, designed by Lloyd Rees, that has become world-famous after appearing in The Matrix. Recently, I was going past and snapped this picture of the fountain in a rare moment where there were no crowds around, with the buildings surrounding it illuminated by the fading afternoon light. The scene in Exuberance featuring the fountain is based on my own experience – when I almost had the opportunity to brush past Keanu Reeves in the late 1990s… but didn’t. After seeing The Matrix at the movies with her family, Angie recalls seeing the men with the long black coats near the fountain, behind a wall of people, although at the time she had no idea what they were filming. She was on her way to the State Library one Sunday, to do some research for uni. Pitt Street was closed off around Martin Place, and there were signs posted saying ‘If you cross this point, you are giving consent for your image to appear in a motion picture.' L’havia de tenir, i aquest anirà al costadet d’un Toni Morrison by Dolors Udina, “Sula”. Per cert, que jo pensava que m’estrenaria amb Tarjei Vesaas (per les quatre mans Baggethun-Lorenzo) i no, el primer que he llegit (fa poc i m’ha enamorat) és la Rose Macaulay, però això és una altra història. De La Casa Dels Clàssics, la cirereta final. Les “Ànimes mortes” de Nikolai Gógol, aquest no l’he llegit, i ho estic desitjant de manera grotesca. Em cal satisfer la necessitat de rialla de gust àcid i amargant, cirereta confitada per perfecta, plaent lectura que no té per què ser dolça. WERBUNG, DA REZENSIONSEXEMPLAR „Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing“ von Matthew Perry, übersetzt von Wiebke Pilz und Nina Restemeier, erschienen 2022 bei @bastei_luebbe Mannoman, was für ein deprimierendes Buch. Ich bin nicht naiv, also wusste ich ja schon, dass das Drogen- und Alkoholkarussell des Matty Perry ein ziemlich tragisches war, wir wissen ja auch, wie es ausgegangen ist! Der Anteil der Geschichten & Anekdoten aus „Friends“ ist auf ein Minimum reduziert. Er beschreibt mehr seinen Struggle mit den Problemen die er hatte und wie sie sich auf die Serie ausgewirkt haben. Aber er betont auch wie eng verbunden er sich zu den Schauspielkolleg innen fühlt. Die Frage danach, wie es soweit kommen konnte, ist für mich letztendlich nicht beantwortet. Perry beschreibt zwar wie unsicher er sich als Kind nach der Trennung seiner Eltern gefühlt hat, wie schwer er es hatte und auch, wie er sich irgendwann für den Vater entschied und dies zu einem großen Streit ausartete. Doch seine Resilienz hat versagt. Schuldgefühle und ein mangelndes Selbstbewusstsein machten das Ganze zu einer explosiven Mischung für seine Persönlichkeit. Sein Leben wie auch sein Schreiben drehte sich im Kreis, es ging immer wieder darum, wie er anfängt zu trinken, Opioide zu konsumieren, sich daraus befreien wollte versagt und wieder von vorne anfing. Dadurch wirkt der Text repetitiv. Dass ihm die Figur „Chandler“ wie auf dem Leib geschnitten war, merkt man schon in den ersten Kapiteln. Der zynisch sarkastische Ton, die manchmal etwas gewollten Jokes, die trotzdem sympathisch wirken, das Infragestellen seiner Person, all das finden wir in der Serie von ihm dargestellt und merken, das ist er, Matthew Perry in Persona! Er war sich durchaus bewusst, dass er mit der Figur einen Kultstatus hat und betont auch des Öfteren, was er besonders gut kann. Es reichte aber nicht aus, um ihn glücklich zu machen. [Kostenlose] Rezension/Werbung 🤓 Hoppla, bevor ich es vergesse, hier noch eben mein persönliches Fazit, zur Twisted-Reihe. 😁 Wer braucht schon einen Prinzen, wenn man einen Bad-Boy, haben kann? 🤭 Ana hat diese Frage, meiner Meinung nach, wunderbar umgewandelt. Durch den flüssigen, Schreibstil und den guten Spannungsbogen, war ich sofort in jeder Geschichte drinnen. Auch die Übergänge waren so gut umgesetzt, das es einen einfach machte, sich in der nächsten Geschichte wieder zu recht zu finden. Alle vier Love-Couples, sind für mich sehr authentisch rübergekommen. Man hat, nicht den Zusammenhalt in der Mädls- und Jungsgruppe, sondern allgemein von Band 1 an, gespürt hat. Dadurch kam man auch selbst nicht drum rum, die volle Ladung emotionalen Momente, selbst mit zu fühlen. DARK ASCENSION - TOME 1 : VILAINES Auteur : @robinbenway Editeur : @hachetteheroes 288 Pages - Lecture numérique Qui n’a pas regardé Cendrillon au moins une fois dans sa vie ? Personnellement, ça a bercé mon enfance et c’est donc tout naturellement que j’ai eu envie de découvrir l’histoire de ses demi-sœurs Anastasie et Javotte. On y découvre l’enfance des deux sœurs où elles étaient bien loin d’être aussi vilaines, où chacune avait ses aspirations, ses rêves d’enfant et de jeune fille, jusqu’à ce fameux jour où tout a basculé. Plot twist ? Je l’annonce direct, vous allez hurler à la fin de livre tellement la fin est WOW ! (Ouais, j’en suis à un point où j’ai même plus vraiment de mots…) L’histoire monte vraiment crescendo. On peut même dire que les premières 100 pages, bien que sympathiques, sont assez longues à lire, l’histoire mettant du temps à s’installer. Chaque chapitre alterne étant centré tantôt sur Anastasie, tantôt sur Javotte. J’ai appris à les aimer, ces sœurs que je détestais jadis, j’ai même réussi à les comprendre dans un certain sens. On y retrouve Ella en personnage très secondaire, faisant un lien avec le conte original pour ceux qui le souhaiteraient, bien que le roman ne soit pas forcément lié. Entre histoire d’amour pour l’une et découverte de soi pour l’autre, l’intrigue est plaisante, prend tout son sens et j’ai adoré être cette petite souris qui découvrait chaque facette des sœurs. J’ai également eu très très mal au cœur dans certains passages en raison de l’antagoniste de l’histoire. Je préfère ne pas citer son nom pour ne rien spoiler mais mon dieu, qu’il est cruel ! Ce roman ne manquera pas de vous faire vous questionner sur ce qu’on peut faire par… désespoir ? J’avoue m’interroger encore à savoir si c’est le bon mot pour décrire le tout. Kashmir: Book III of The Partition Trilogy✨ The author covered the entire Kashmir in this book. It is the partition trilogy's last book, and I started with the third book first! The story is based on real-life events that occurred post-independence, and the characters in the book were freedom fighters and activists at that time. While reading about these characters, the author showed their personal side, which made them more relatable. Apart from dealing with problems that arose during the partition, she portrayed the characters in a way that reminded us that they were human beings at the end of the day. Through the different perspectives of the commoners, the readers explore different places in Kashmir and its culture. But most importantly we see how these people are having difficulties while various reforms are being made and their lives are crushed down. We understand how these historic events impacted all people from different walks of life. It is a heartbreaking but important read. A lot of research and thought has been put into this book which is clearly understandable from the profoundness of the story. Keleana 4 - La reine des ombres SJM ⚔️ Cette saga est décidément trop bien, les tomes sont de mieux en mieux. L’univers est très bien travaillé et complet. Les révélations s’enchaînent et on comprend mieux certains personnages. ⚔️ J’aime beaucoup l’évolution des personnages, l’intrigue de ce tome et un début de romance. La romance n’est pas du tout au centre de la saga en tout cas pour le moment. On est vraiment dans une fantasy politique où les choses se mettent en place doucement, mais sûrement ! ⚔️ J’ai adoré ce tome et j’ai hâte de lire la suite, malheureusement le dernier tome sort seulement en octobre !!! Du coup, je vais ralentir histoire d’économiser jusque-là… Aussi, l’alternance de point de vue est très intéressante puisqu’on suit ce qu’il se passe dans le royaume à différents endroits. The Warm Hands of Ghosts ✨ This was the @thatbookishclub April pick, and I really enjoyed it! It was such an enchanting read - at points it was harrowing and painful, but the overall sense of hope really shone through for me. Pokochaj albo zabij - Weronika Ancerowicz 4/5⭐️ Książka z pewnością ciekawa i trzymająca w napięciu. Naprawdę dużo się dzieje i jest fajnie poprowadzona fabuła, jest również sporo zagadek. Ta historia zabiera czytelnika w niezapomnianą podróż, gwarantując mnóstwo plot- twistów, łez i uśmiechu. Na początku książkę ciężko mi się czytało i była dla mnie dziwaczna i nieco sztuczna, ale potem naprawdę się wciągnęłam. Według mnie fajnie napisana relacja pomiędzy bohaterami. Autorka zadbała o wszystkie szczegóły. Nic nie dzieje się bez przypadku, a każdy wybór pociąga za sobą szokujące konsekwencje. Książka sama w sobie jest naprawdę ciekawa, tylko zakończenie jakoś mi nie pod pasowało. Dylogia “Pod Przykrywką” jest idealną pozycją dla tych, którzy w książkach kochają multum emocji. Od tej książki nie będziecie umieli się oderwać.
