I can’t believe we’re 22w tomorrow and how quickly we’ll be meeting our newest little babe. It’s been such a beautiful journey, and I do not take for granted how fortunate I am to get to bring two lives into this world. Pregnancy #1 was such a whirlwind—so much to learn, and everything was a new experience. Pregnancy #2 has been so different, but also so familiar! These are a few thoughts I’ve had with pregnancy #2: ✨ the bump returns WAY sooner (8w) ✨ each pregnancy is truly different ✨ I felt kicks earlier (15w) ✨ my anxiety is way lower ✨ I have taken significantly less pics ✨ time is moving way faster ✨ it’s a new level of exhaustion being pregnant chasing a toddler ✨ I worry about how my relationship with the older kids, especially Ben, will change ✨ I really did black out most of the “hard stuff” from #1, but can’t wait to experience it all again If you’re a mama of multiple babes, I’d love to hear how you felt subsequent pregnancies were different from your first! week 19 of pregnancy with type 1 diabetes 💫🥭 time in range: 91%!?! 😭🥹 Another week sticking to somewhat of my same routine during the day. I haven’t been super restrictive on what I eat carb-wise this pregnancy, and find a 15-20 min pre-bolus my best strategy for decreasing the amount of spikes I see. Eating protein with any carb has also helped, so having a hard boiled egg, yogurt, cheese or meat sticks, nuts, etc has helped to keep my lines a bit more stable and me feeling more full for longer. However, I am still making time for lots of fruit every day because I still can’t get enough lol. symptoms this week: very tired by the afternoon, low blood sugars have started to make me feel very light headed (normal symptom of pregnancy), slight lower back pain, and i’m finding that sleeping on back is becoming a bit more uncomfortable after a while.
