Hi Friends! I have some wonderful news to share with you! I finally finished my last semester and now have another great degree to add to my educational arsenal: Hospitality and Tourism Management. Yesterday was the last day of my #DisneyCollegeProgram - but my Disney story isn't over yet. I am excited to announce that I received and accepted an offer to stay with the company! I'll be staying in merchandise - a role I truly enjoy - and will now have the added benefits that come with being an 'official' WDW Cast Member! This Tomorrowland dress fit perfectly (no pun intended!) for my graduation pics with Mickey and Minnie (how awesome was this photo op at #FCV, by the way?!). One of my fellow CP friends, ChiChi (aka Andrea), just landed a Lodging management internship. She found out today that she will be at the Saratoga Springs Resort! 😁🎉 Another is celebrating her program extension🥰🎇 This isn't even my best work! ⚠️Warning ⚠️ long post ahead! — I’ve be reflecting on my Disney journey the past couple of days since the email..and man, have I been blessed. I have been a part of so many wonderful shows. I have worked with such talented show directors, choreographers, and performers. I’ve opened shows and closed shows. I’ve seen the magic in the eyes of young children watching the amazing lights shine brightly in the night as a fairy dancing down Main Street USA. I’ve heard the crowd scream and cheer so loudly, that you can barely hear the music, as Mickey suddenly appears out of nowhere to fight his imagination. It’s been one incredible journey! This picture of me in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle was just couple hours after I received the phone call that I got the Maintenance Choreographer position. My dream job at Disney. My husband and I got down to work early and we went into the park to burn a couple of hours. We walk by the castle and I asked him to take a picture of me, because I wanted to remember this day forever! I’m so glad I asked him, because this was the happiest I have ever been working for the company. Today has not been the happiest. Today has been one of the toughest days I’ve been dealt with in my Disney career...but I will get through this. We will all get through this. We ARE the Magic Makers! Looking back at my 2019 year and all I have to say is how proud I am of myself. Getting accepted for my job in January, up and moving to a new state in March without knowing a soul, to now living here for 9 months has been one of the greatest experiences I have gone through. I have met my best friends, I have made so many memories, and I have accomplished so much. Standing in the Town Square and looking up Main St USA to see Cinderella’s castle standing there at the end is one of my favorite views of Walt Disney World. 1 year ago, I accomplished something I had been dreaming of for 6 years: becoming a Cast Member. . . Becoming a Cast Member opened up a whole new world (excuse the pun) of opportunity for me. After all, through the Disney College Program, I was spending 9 months at the most magical place on Earth, creating magical moments and memories for Guests. I made amazing new friends, worked with incredible coworkers, and gained insight into what I want to do after graduation. I couldn't have asked for more. . .
